Hello everyone.
There are many ways to weld thin pipes such as sanitary pipes and structural steel pipes.
Today, we will introduce the fastest welding method among them.
There are probably many cases where this method is not allowed because there are likes and dislikes.
It wouldn't hurt to try this method if necessary.
Thanks for watching and have a nice week.

We had to learn to stick, MIG, TIG in all positions. As a journeyman Boilermaker (on one job), had my apprentice pimp comment, "I didn't know we had to learn how to weld standing on our heads?" Told him, "You don't, but if you want to get the job done, you better."

    • They must not have worked with sanitary systems. Most of what goes into semiconductor tooling is exactly this type of weld or fusion. Just because you are good at a few methods doesn’t make you an expert at everything. If it were going into tooling, it would be tested for any leaks and get approved or rejected. His weld isn’t the best, but it’s typical of what’s out there. Can confirm, 7 years experience welding for the semiconductor industry including Intel and LAM Research to name a few.

If you notice in the center of the weld there is a line, that is the point where it split due to not putting material on it. also the access of Amp is too much, the ss ends up contaminating due to the high heat which will further weaken the metal.

    @AndreiRivero@AndreiRivero Жыл бұрын
    • Stainless does not need filler metal addition as it does not lose ductility with temperature (hot short) so it won't shrink crack on cooling. Yes, there is oxidation on the outside from excess temperature leading to the frosted looking weld (gray) but no black or green "sugaring" which indicates loss of chromium or nickel which would cause corrosion sensitive or brittle weld respectively. Both Cr and Ni oxidize in air at glowing temperature and higher, Cr confers corrosion resistance, Ni confers ductility as it stabilizes austenite structure. Cr alone would make the steel martensitic which can be brittle so Ni is added to stabilize austenite which is highly ductile. I'm a dabbling welder but I know my materials science as applied to welding.

    • I'm literally starting a job doing food grade stainless. The one thing I noticed 160 amps is way too high. You supposed to do maybe 110. And when you start at you're supposed to stay in the same spot at least six seconds and then you need to walk the cup. When you look inside it didn't penetrate at all. There was also no "devil's eye" in the weld pool. Which indicates proper penetration.

    • Welding stainless sanitary tube is supposed to be welded without filler. Penetration looked exactly as it should. The weld on the inside and outside should be close to flush. I believe the intent of this video was to demonstrate a technique to weld sanitary tube very fast. I would imagine that this technique also aids in reducing shrinkage and warping due to being welded so quickly and presumably having less overall heat input into the part. I am a sanitary fabrication specialist and I approve. I don’t believe you know what you’re talking about, but I would love to see some of your sanitary welds to prove me wrong and back up that 10 years expertise.

  • Not too bad. If I were to critique, I’d turn your inside purge up a tiny bit and cool it before uncapping it. You’ll end up with minimal color on the inside. I also find that using a welder with a pedal can help quite a bit, sometimes you need a little more heat in the early part of the weld, then less as you overlap. Same goes for miter welds. All in all a solid weld!
