Hilarious moment man is pecked by ‘vicious’ PELICAN in London park
A "vicious" pelican has left people terrified after savagely pecking a man in a London park.
The large water bird was filmed striking the unknown man as he relaxed on a bench in St James's Park, on Friday 16th July.
It was recorded by artist and DJ Richard DeDomenici, 43, who was walking through the park with a pal at the time.
Richard shared the funny clip on Facebook, writing: "Human punished for not giving pelican attention it deserves."
The video shows the large pelican strolling towards a bench in the park where a man is sitting.
Richard and his friend can be heard explaining that the magnificent bird is "a little bit intimidating."
The pelican then jumps up onto the bench as the man sitting there casually watches on.
It appears to be attracted to Richard as it moves closer to him while he explains: "I think it's my hairdo."
The animal continues to roam around on the bench before turning its attention to the man sitting there - giving him a big nudge with its beak.
Thankfully, the man doesn't appear to have been hurt by the attack and happily laughs it off but swiftly moves from his seat.
"Did you see that?" Richard and his pal ask as they hold back their laughter.
The pelican eventually decides to jump off the bench and back into the water after having its fun.
"I was sitting on a park bench with my old school friend Perdita when suddenly I noticed a pelican strutting towards us," Richard told Jam Press.
"I began recording as the pelican approached the benches and clambered on beside me.
"I thought perhaps it had mistaken me for a large bird, as my current hairstyle does make me look a bit like a cockatoo."
Richard believes the pelican may have pecked the unknown man sitting on the bench because he failed to give it enough attention.
He added: "I thought the person was not giving the pelican the attention it deserved, and was probably, therefore, being punished by the bird."

Pecked? He tried to give the man a hug.
🤣
It was trying to eat him. They eat everything.
@@TweSunshinenot like it can hurt you anyway
Yeah....still waiting for the 'hilarious' part. Jeez. This was just a lame, standard 'London Park goings' video that was hyped up by adding an overly dramatic caption. Where was the peck even? Ffs

A literal avian dinosaur exerting its dominance over a mamalian creature.
One ugly therapod
True Brotha' *L O U D S I P*
😂😂😂
Peli can not pelicant
Yea ok "dominance" 😂 I just watched this guy eat another birds shit at that point he's no longer a threat to anyone but himself😂😂
The Pelican really pulled up and said “What’s good wit it cuh.”
Remember kids, Pelicans will try to eat you, but as long as you don't fit in it's beak you're good!
pelican beak way too small and narrow anyway
@@PoorLittleRhubarbLovesMooingEven so, pelicans have a habit of assessing what they see as potential meals using their beaks, whether they be bicycles, kids, dogs, capybaras to see if they fit into its mouth or not
@@Shinyboy29 They sure overestimate their beak capacity huh
@@Shinyboy29 I remember the capybara video! 😂🤣

Interviewer: Why were you created on earth? Pelican: To Eat. Interviewer: Why were others created on earth? Pelican: To get eaten by me (while trying to fit Interviewer in mouth).
That pelican is huge!!! Almost big as a person.
Its small tbh considering ones i see in my hometown. Usually they are around 150cm on feet to head, almost twice as big than this
@@malemarwhat?! So do they eat like dogs or birds or small animals ?
@@Purpelspy can eat a parrot or new born puppy but anything above that seems not possible. Dont know how much they can expand their throats but maybe cats to. Dont know tbh, never seen one hunting land animals. Usually i see them fishing.
@@Purpelspy Pelicans will try to eat a lot of things and often damage their pouches in the process which leads to their deaths.
It's a typical size for a pelican, they are scarily big
He wasn't playing with you he was measuring if you could fit in this beak😂
Exactly
I do think that’s literally what they do. “Do it fit? Then I eats!”
"Seen any capybaras?"
In London 😂
yes but u cant eat dem
Pecked? He’s trying to eat that man
Just trying to find a better spot to catch pigeons from
a living avian dinosaur. pterodactyl looks alike
It doesn't mean that just because it's a Pelican....that it Pelishould.
i like that he leaves the bench entirely in response like sorry my presence displeased you mr pelican
Just cuz you pelican doesn’t mean you pelishould.
"When dinosaurs roamed the Earth" 😂
Love the lil tail wiggle at the end 💖🥺
How he slapped you with its wings as it jumped off the bench 😂😂😂
It’s a pelican innit
Pelicans look like the type of animal who always has a *"?"* Over their heads.
I am not fully aware of evolution of birds and nature, but these brids do remind of dinosaurs
Birds are the closest living things to dinosaurs. Biologically speaking, they literally fall under the category of theropod dinosaurs, believe it or not.
You are right actually. They are dinosaurs, the only ones that survived! They're tough animals.
alternative title: dinosaur tries to hug a man
no he never tried to
You can see the Dinosaur in it lol
That's not a duck, that's a PELICAN!
Wow at his huge feet!
I love their feet! Webbed feet are the biggest force in the universe!
I didn't know pelicans also have cheese feets haha
Thats a real life spinosaurus by the way
"We're just staring at a big pelican" 😂
Pecked? Nah pelican eat anything even humans, dogs, cats bird poop anything
That is a huge birb! Majestic!
Beautiful animals
This bird is called pelican it is large water birds that make up the family Pelecanidae. They are characterized by a long beak and a large throat pouch used for catching prey, they try to eat anything see around them.

Everybody wants the dinosaur 🎶
Damn, they are massive 😮
The little tail wags are adorable!
He is a beautiful 🐦
Pelican: "Give me a hug, not gonna peck you" *Pelican leans towards him* Man: Peck? actually you're trying to eat me..time to get out 😅😂
You laugh, but the only reason the pelican didn’t try to eat him was because the bird knew he wouldn’t fit.
@@Razuki5 The Pelican never fails to attempt at least
Naaahhh😂 Dangerous animals in the world.😂😂😂
A pelican would make a good pet
I grew up in the Keys and pelicans and cormorants were very friendly birds, very curious, never saw a pelican eat anything disturbing lol
Birds are really the coolest animals
pelicans seem so clumsy 😭😭 almost missed the step up ,, slips off the edge of the bench when turning around
He abandoned the premises immediately. He was side eyeing the bird as soon as he climbed the bench 😂
bro scraped bird shit from the bench and tasted it 😂
Those pelicans are so fantastic and far more friendly than all the other inhabitants of London.
Its all fun and games until it projectile poops on you 😂
These are one of the most unusual creatures. The pelican saw this “bird” not leaving his presence and tried to see if he could fit the unmoving animal (man) in his beak pouch to eat. Notice he’s upset he’s leaving. Cannot try anymore…
That guy wasn't talking that's why😂 it's so beautiful 🤩
0:47 Birds are so clumsy when they’re trying to get down a higher place. Cute.
Pigeons just hanging out they have no idea they are part of the Pelican's menu.
Adorable. Love Pelicans, they are the original "jumbo" 😂❤..
The title to this video is very misleading.
"I'll show you." - John Hammond
Love it. Looks at the guy " your food" " nope" " let me try though"
Big guy definitely a celebrity. Knew that guy was taking pics of him so he turned and gave him his other good side.
Pelican saw his bird beak and wanted to be friends.
0:47 hilarious moment camera got hit by the tip of a Vicious PELICAN wing in London park.
This is the tamest pelican on KZhead
Cute pelican❤
He told the man to move aside thats not an attack thats the way the pelicans communicate.
We have a different definition of "hilarious"
They say bald eagles are big but this might be slightly bigger!
Hungry pelican.
the guy she tells you not to worry about
Bro tried to use chopsticks💀
«Sit still. I’m trying to taste you.»
That wasn't vicious. He was letting the guy know that was his bench.
The way it walked
Wow that chicken is enormous!
You really can see the direct relationship between birds and dinosaurs.
He is lucky he is not a pigeon
GO PELS 😂
Well, im now. I know theres pelicans in london. idk what I'll do with this knowledge
Im so happy that the wings are large enough and it about to fly high, but its body doesn’t agree.
Really beautiful bird
Pelican tried to eat him. They try to eat everything.
Wow that one was friggin huge
lol when Dinosaurs roamed the earth😂🤣
Lovely giant bird lol is it seagull poop its trying to eat?
Welcome to... London Park.
Laziest bird
He wants a fish not a photo
Imagine how annoying it would be to have a beak so long though. 😂 Trying to pick anything up without arms would be a pain.
The pelican is aggressive! They are coming on a bit strong here LOL. Beautiful creatures, but they just take what they want.
It's because they're PeliCANS not PeliCANTS! They are not aggressive, they will try everything to see if it's edible and can fit in their throat pouch!
@@janajamer734 The answer was in-front of me the entire time! I feel like such a fool! Time to go to McDonald's and make sure I will never fit in their throat pouch LOL.

Pelican vs Capy
Anything but vicious
I wonder how many has that Pelican eaten
A beautiful specimen but they can be viscous
Can’t imagine how humans lived among dinosaurs.
They didn't
Dont mess with dino bird. Its mom may be close by.
Dips his beak in crap for the poisoned strike perk.
LoL what a viscous cutie pie. 😂❤ It wasn't pecking him it was checking him out because it's interested in the people and being social. These birds hangout at the park for the same reason we do. They like socializing and we are the masters of socializing we have food too. They are smart enough to understand that. All animals are smart enough to understand our situation that's why they visit us and get closer to look at what we are doing. It's like the animals are at a zoo watching human beings and they interact with us. 😂
Did that pelican try to eat bird shit off the bench 😂
Wow wonderful creature ❤
Average London experience.
So cute!
He’s hungry he wants you to get food like you do for the little birds 😂
😂
It's pigeon toed lol
Peloton try to eat that man lol 😂
Is the pelican making that noise
Cool bird
I've been to St James's Oark and I've never seen a pelican 😢
