Dude that is sweet. I love the color in that. Beautiful piece of art. 👍👌
Very nice. Beautiful piece of art.
I pop the sandy pad thing in the lathe when I need to sand the end of something like that, frees up a hand instead if holding the drill, that came out looking great 😁👍🏻
Awesome. Love the eggs
Awesome piece of art. I like how you narrated the video. Great incredible job!

Very Beautiful. 👍

Very cool project. I’ve been wanting to start turning projects like this. I never cast resin before.
This would make for beautiful night lights.
Very nice! Like the editing too.
Nicely done ✅
Whatever Ü make will no doubt be 🤪amazing 💯
When I grow up, I’d really like to be able to have the resources and skill to do something like that.
Andre Lin with parent supervision all is possible.
So
Work hard for what you want and you will get everything you need
Hello! I love your art. Have you considered making the same versions of the eggs you have done so far, but with a rounded bottom instead of flat for those who, like me, prefere to display them in a nice basket or bowl on the living room coffee table, or even on a stand? Would love to see some videos like this and also order some pieces some day? Thank you and best regards.
Nicely done i love it as a show peace 👍
I really appreciated your voiceover explaining what you were doing and which products you used. Doing the same thing without explanation makes those of us trying to learn this craft very difficult. Thanks for the lesson! Liked and subscribed!! 👍👍🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦 Happy turning, .....Gord
Super gemacht. 👍
This is inspiring. Got one started. Thanks
Thanks!
Very good job....

GREAT JOB. LOVE IT.FROM DOUG IN HOUSTON
Great video! Do I need the pressure pot? Can I simply use an oven?
Awesome! Was the maple stabilized? Did you dry the burl beforehand as the Alumilite Clear Slow looks great...no signs of moisture.
Beautiful Job, Stephen. Thinking of trying this myself, what size is the mold you used?
That shade of blue could go really well with gold
I love this egg
Thanks!
Does the burl wood need to be totally moisture free? Any help please
Hello Stephen Joiner! Please tell me what kind of tree you use in this video and how to find it. Thank you.
@Stephen Joiner where did u get the cup center from?
Great looking Egg, I live in the UK and am having trouble finding burr/ burl caps like you just used
Hi Douglas. I know its a long process what I do but it does allow me to get more burls like your wanting. If you live in the countryside like my self or have friends who do. I go for my walks and often see trees that have fallen in storms. I check the tree for burls and ask the farmer if I can harvest some of the wood from it. I then store the harvested wood in my attic/loft in some wood shavings and silica beads to assist the drying. May not be possible for you but just spit balling an idea for you. Good luck mate 👍
@@garybirkett6668 hi I live by the sea and I do keep my ear to the ground and listen out for the sound of a chain saw 👀
What do you use for epoxy?
What resin do u use? And where did u get the cup live center?
How long does something like this take you?
Can you tell me what type of box mold you used?
Love the Ocean effect. Do you ever have problems using water during sanding? Does the burl ever pull away, or separate from the resin? Or is the sanding sealer able to prevent any problems? Thanks for any help.
I haven't had any issues. If you buff too much it can leave a noticeable transition between the two, but it never separates. I stabilize my smaller pieces so the water can't penetrate at all, but these bigger ones don't really need it.
Stephen: outstanding! Your Jet lathe, which model is that?? Thanks

Can I buy burl resin blocks from you. Or do you know where to buy burl from
Can you make any water EGG
Where can I find that cup center?
Oh...yes please. I need to hold this, to feel the cool and the warmth and be transported from my bed/room, into a whole other pain free world. Is it possible to purchase this? Soon if at all, I am running out of time.
I sold it yesterday sorry!
Are any of your items available for purchase
Very nice, gonna hit subscribe to view more of your videos. The look of that egg matches what you were shooting for. Would be greatful to have you watch and offer some advice on my videos, ive been turning just barely 2 years now.
What is the meaning of HDPE mold sir??and where i can buy that sir?
Would love a 2 foot egg in black and red ! How much ?
👍👍👍
I have a great idea for you. Use wasp hives inside resin as decoration for your wood-turning. Wasp hives are always spectacular to look at. There are several videos on KZhead on "wasp removal job" that will show you what wasp hives look like. Wasp hives are preferable to bee hives because bees use wax and wasp use wood pulp and their saliva to create a sort of dense cardboard. So wasp hives will preserve indefinitely inside resin. Also, wasp hives have bigger hexagon cells. They are nicer to look at that way. It does't really matter because people will think it's a bee hive. If you use wasp hives inside resin, you will have to inject the resin with a syringe in each hexagon cell in order to avoid bubbles. This idea of using wasp hives inside resin to decorate wood turning art has a huge number of variations. You can spray-paint the wasp hive to make them stand-out more and for variation. I can imagine a bright yellow or pink or grey or black or metallic-gold color for coloring the hives. You can have a different colors for different sections side-by-side. Imagine a bowl or vase with a big section missing (like 1/4 to 1/2 section missing). You can then use resin to recreate the missing part. Inside the resin, you can put bit sections of wasp hive of two colors (pink/grey or yellow/black, ...etc)). That would look great!
Cool idea thank you! I have lots of nests around here.

It's beautiful. But… It looks more like a sea cave. If its a deep sea trench, wouldn't the wooden parts be on the sides instead of top and bottom?
I guess? Good point!
@Stephen Joiner. Probably the best dragon egg out of all 5. Jeep up the amazing work man. Will always support you and your content. R u selling that type of dragon egg on your website right now?
I am selling this one at noon eastern today. Thanks!
@@StephenJoiner ...😥 so its gone? Are they sold auction style? I so wanted this other world....😥
Does the wet sand paper help keep the plastic from melting
It's more about eliminating the dust buildup and getting a better finish.
How much is the dragon egg????
So if someone wanted to purchase or request a specific egg made, how would someone do that?
I list them for sale on my site periodically. I get too many requests to take more orders though.
If you include the "" before your link in description, it will post as a hyperlink instead of plain text. Cheers
Yeeee booooy 👈👈✔️👈👈👈👈
Ever considered using an egg like that a bit smaller and attach it to a walking cane?
Neat idea
How long did it take to create that egg on the lathe? And what resin did you use as I know from experience that not all epoxy resin turn without rip out. Cheers. Great work by the way
you should have left it on the base so it could be set on a mantle would have looked nicer in my book but it is still nice.
How much?
Can you make an ender dragon egg from Minecraft please. Or do eggs from other video games
* sees red stain * Yeah...no dragons were harmed in the making of this video.Right?...right.
😍😍😍ei er nåde a et æg
How much do you charge for a piece like that?
$125-$150
Good price for that much work that went into those pieces. Do you have an eBay account or some form of payment and shipping service available?
