UK Parliament has passed PM Rishi Sunak's flagship Rwanda bill, after a late-night sitting and months of wrangling.
Plans to send some asylum seekers to Africa have met with fierce criticism, but the bill passed on Monday when the Lords dropped their opposition.
Sunak said in a statement "nothing will stand in our way" now of getting flights off the ground.
But the scheme could still be held up by challenges in the courts.

@@user-sp5ws6nn8fare you sure? How?
I don't know why nobody is talking about the financial incentive for Rwanda. The current government budget for Rwanda is $4.4b. Lets say Rwanda takes 50 000 migrants initially as planned that means for the initial batch Rwanda may receive up to $10.5b which is almost two and a half times the government spending. This is the new form of human trafficking. The only difference is that its done by a government.
Ok, But what is a viable solution then? All I’ve seen on social media for the last 2 years are people complaining about migrants coming over What is the solution? Someone please tell me

Anyone boarding a flight to Rwanda from the U.K. has a one way ticket. If the U.K. doesn't want those people arrest them, deport them and ban them from entry. Why is the U.K. putting on this show when everyone knows it's just an expensive way to deport people ?
It is a deterrent
It's a roundabout way to say "Look, we messed up when we made the original asylum laws and international laws century/centuries ago. We never thought millions of people will from poor countries will pack up their bags and arrive at our shores for economic migration, mixed in with people who actually urgently need asylum. Since deporting is illegal without processing their application first, which can take years, so we reduce the burden by using Rwanda as the intermediary host." Anyone genuinely seeking asylum won't mind waiting in a safe space in Rwanda but anyone seeking economic migration won't want to be stuck in Africa. Hence the deterrent.

Learn from Australia🇦🇺 , if you dont be tough, they will keep on coming
I live in Australia. When we pushed the boats in 2012 our government copped a lot of international condemnation and were threatened with all sorts. However they sticks to their guns and would not be bullied by others telling them to run our country. It’s the only solution that’s had a modicum of success. But what happening now is people are arriving by air with visitors visa and a return ticket and then having the temerity to claim asylum once here. Also only a couple of months ago we had 2 boats arrive in the northern part of West Australia. The people were mainly from Pakistan. It seems that the government took the eye off the ball in terms of border control, and cut funding ! But that could cost re election at the next election. I have been here 35 years and have admired the Aussie government but the current one is the coming up short!

But Rwandan refugees remain stuck in neighbouring countries and abroad. They refuse to return to Rwanda for safety reasons, many are even embedded in Ugandan settlements and have been there for generations. So its bizarre that it would be a destination for refugees. Why can't they peacefully collect its people scattered in settlements and camps across the world and house them in those hostels.
Those are criminals not ordinal Rwandans. Don't confuse people here.
They are refugees by choice, running from the consequences of their actions in 1994. If they want to, they can go back to Rwanda.

It isn't controversial. They have come through safe countries where they could have claimed asylum. Most are economic migrants, able to pay thousands to travel. You apply for a visa if you want to come here, they think that they don't have to obey the countries laws. The country is full, go away.
Rwanda is full
Please be aware that this is all funded through our taxes and will cost billions in the next few years. The logical solution is prevention of people from crossing borders and having a steadfast stance on not giving socialised care for ALL asylum seekers. All this waste of money could have been saved just by staying in the EU and applying the Dublin agreement correctly. Any asylum seekers passing the criteria to stay could then have been sent to the Falklands.
The Dublin agreement required asylum seekers to be returned to their point of entry. Which was impossible if they wouldn't tell you. The Falklands has its own government, why would they accept thousands of migrants? They wouldn't.
Why would we send them to the Falklands? Would be much better to send them to rich white areas, rather than poor ones. It would soon be sorted out.

Rwanda is safest country on the Africa continent and is fast growing economically. UK chosen better place for refugees because Rwanda is best inclusive country in the world after the genocide against Tutsi in 1994. Rwanda is great country, take all people
I don’t have any opinion on this but I can’t help but wonder is the UK doing the same thing that they did with the Jewish population during and after WW2? Just sending large swaths of people to a random country?
Spending £500m taxpayer money on this without sending a single migrant. In fact, they've had record migration into the country at 2 million additional people in the last 2 years.
On top of the 500m already spend will be 200k per person that will be deported. But of course the UK is swimming in money these days after leaving the EU and not needing to pay money to the EU, so it's easy for the UK to spend that money, the UK got plenty. I heard the UK was thinking of giving each citizen 200k but then decided to just pay 200k for every person they are deporting because they like immigrants more then their citizens.

What do you want people on the street to get stabbed.

It's not controversial. It's just the same as places like Australia. If people keep turning up illegally and are allowed to stay, the situation will become very serious as time goes on.
Then stop uk government to fight abroad messing up people’s lives. These people would prefer to stay in their home country. You make a living out of someone misery by creating wars where Britain can sale its weapons, has to stop.
I've been to Rwanda twice. Its a beautiful country. Natives can embrace it and build it further. It has that potential. Its the safest, calmest, cleanest place I've ever been to in Africa
People still fail to realise that if anything happens in Rwanda at any point then all the migrants will be shipped back to UK, same thing that happened with the Indians in 80s. The politicians trucking people yet again. I have no horse in the race so doesn’t affect me.

The UK has no respect for international law and like the USA does what it wants. After bleeding entire countries dry as an imperial power (they have amnesia about this of course) now they are unsatisfied when a few thousand people from other countries are seeking refuge there (not wealth but refuge). It is just outragious how much audacity they have.
Rwanda has cleverly created a new channel to receive money from. In the Future Rwanda will do everything to keep receiving money from the UK even if it means sending migrants back to the UK.
Controversial? It's a holiday resort ffs.
You're aware there's a difference between a tourist and a refugee?
@@Tom-ct6rp are you are of the difference between an illegal immigrant and a refugee? The Rwanda bill does not impact refugees or legal immigrants.

Yes it does, maybe read it before commenting, as then we won know for sure you lack intelligence @DanielGriffiths

About time something is done! Now let's see if they actually follow through with deportations.
Why should the UK depend on another country for handling its immigration problem for money? Great Britain has a lot of islands up to the north. Now, getting shipped there would have a huge deterrent effect - in addition, free of charge. The astronomical amount they are planning to spend would be enough to house all the homeless in England plus to improve their Navy to the level of catching anybody wanting to come illegally.
Rwanda will be nicer than the UK soon. Can I get a flight?
Yeah getting rid of illegals will make the UK worse… ya dumb cant

Future generation Brit boys and girls will look back and thank the current govt. for passing this bill.
Rishi has some likely what people of UK want.
Invoice anyone who arrived illegally (invaded) appropriately so they pay for the full cost of security, any medical expenses, housing. This can be recovered from any assets they bring, or taxed if they have an income. Taxed at 100% of any income.
You know that asylum speakers are not allowed to work, until they have been assessed and approved, right? Those coming in to work illegally either arrive on planes and don't go home, or were trafficked in and don't actually get paid because the traffickers thought of your plan decades ago. Congratulations for belatedly coming up the same solution as people who think that sex slavery is a legitimate business plan.

This idea is a win win opportunity for both UK and the Government of Rwanda.from the look of things this is a form of civilize deportation Uk will send those immigrants to seek their asylum process in Rwanda 🇷🇼 which 99.9 per will be denied and rejected.
The UK could save itself a ton of money on this refugee bill; all they needed to do was drop them off at the Mexican/US border. President Biden is running an open border policy, yet you are the draining UK taxpayers.
If Rwanda is so safe, why do you still have Rwanda immigrants here in UK
