When I was younger I used to hate Man Utd under him. Looking back I can see how utterly stupid I was. He truly is the greatest football manager of all time, just an altogether class act. The game sure is missing someone like Sir Alex today.

As an Arsenal fan I remember watching this live in a pub in Fulham with a fellow Gooner and barely making it to the end... Alex Ferguson was an all time great, perhaps the all time great in English domestic football, and years later, this interview reminds me of the unimpeachable class of the man.

He wouldn't have put up with it, period. SAF always kept reporters and journalists in line, and if they stepped the slightest bit out of line, they were banned from future press conferences.

When Ferguson praised you as a manager you were no longer a threat to him. When arsenal were in their prime Ferguson could not stand wegner and would publicly criticise him. After 06 he was just nice to wegner because he knew he was no longer a threat

This was actually the first ever pl match I’ve ever watched. Fell in love with United that day. Since then I’ve moved to England, in liverpool unfortunately but still support United no matter what!

Sir Alex always gave his team a warning during a win. Whenever they lost he would defend the hell out of them in the press but after a win, especially a good win, that is when he would say something he wasnt pleased with to keep them on their toes. Management at its finest.

Beating Arsenal 8-2 with Anderson and Cleverley in central midfield was a quality achievement. The previous season, they beat Arsenal 2-0 in the FA Cup with Fabio, O’Shea, Gibson and Rafael in midfield.
tbh man utd's team was quite weak as well! Rooney [Welbeck] Young [Anderson Cleverly] Nani Evra [Evans Jones Smalling] Degea the players in brackets (6 players) are never world class players Nani and Young were patchy players as well (1-2 world class seasons followed by many medicore seasons) Only Rooney, Evra and Degea were world class
