One day when I was watching Spongebob, I noticed something bizarre. This thing was so bizarre that I decided to spend months analyzing every single episode of Spongebob Squarepants in search of answers.

Something to add to this video (if it matters), there's an episode of spongebob towards the later seasons that I remember made my head spin where, at the end of the episode Plankton gets the krabby patty secret formula and exclaims "I always win!" and spongebob corrects him "No plankton you always lose." Then Plankton reveals he's not Plankton, but Mr Krabs. And Plankton was Mr Krabs in a robotic suit, but it wasn't the robot krabs, it looked and sounded exactly like Mr Krabs. Then Squidward reveals he was like, Patrick or something and the rest of the episode everyone tearing off their skin and revealing that they're other characters, including Sandy and even a background character/minor character at one point. Strange part is, we never learn who or what is underneath all of the fake skins. The episode ends with them all tearing off skins over and over and just, zooms and fades out while it continues. That's what confused me as a kid. Who was truly under all of the skins? Was Spongebob even in the episode? And if that was possible, who's to say spongebob is really in any of the episodes? Who's to say any of these characters are actually people in Bikini Bottom? Who's to say anyone in Bikini Bottom is a person with a life and family? How does anybody in this world ever start a life knowing that anyone could be anyone else underneath infinite layers of skins and voices?
That’s weird

Anyone remember when sandy took off her fur and hung it up and plankton stole it and used it as an actual skinsuit and it looked fucking terrifying? All so he could pretend to be her and steal the formula? Like they even had her hollow eyes and sagging empty mouth. Also “I’ve come for your pickle” is hilarious. I’m glad they added that.
A really good example of something that disproves the idea that there are just stores full of costumes of other people.
@@yeetusfeetus3059i think it still works, plankton is broke as hell so he wouldn’t have money to buy a suit. and sandy isn’t going to wear it all the time.
@@toastice2465 IIRC, Krabs constantly scams Spongebob out of money, I don't think he has enough money for full body suits. Patrick is not even shown to have a job, that I know of anyways, but he has enough money for a gorilla suit. Plankton is actually pretty intelligent, being a business owner, and a mad scientist. If making suits of people is common, I'm sure he could have done it. He just sucks at cooking. Honestly, there are a lot of weird jokes in Spongebob and other cartoons that are repeated often, Skin Theory is nothing more than a complete overthinking of a dumb repeating visual gag in a cartoon kid's show. It's not a very solid theory, the whole thing comes apart once you think about it for more than 1 millisecond.
@@yeetusfeetus3059That doesn't disprove the theory that there's a store full of costumes at all. Whether you hate or love this video, there's no or little correlation. Maybe they just didn't have Sandy's skin or skin of the main cast or other various possibilities. At the end of the day I know you're just a contrarian troll and this video is a joke.
@@chocov5183 If there were stores full of other people's skins, why has Plankton, AFAIK, NEVER used one? IIRC, he took control of Spongebob AND stole Sandy's skin but for some reason the skin stores did not have their skins in stock throughout the entire runtime of the original 4 seasons? At the end of the day, I'm laughing at you. Learn what contrarian means before using it.
This gotta be the highest amount of effort someone has ever made for a shitpost
I don’t think it’s even a shitpost anymore, I think the creator was genuinely serious about creating a 1 hour theory for a kids cartoon (which doesn’t even matter since it’s a cartoon and it can defy logic) and taking the time to have an entire script and multiple clips to show the “disturbing” truth and theory of SpongeBob, in other words, wayyyy too much free time on their hands

This theory is fascinating on so many levels! I think the nuclear radiation theory is very possible considering Bikini Bottom is literally a reference to Bikini Bottom Atoll which is known for testing nuclear warheads. Also Goo Lagoon could technically exist as there are undersea lakes/oceans, but nothing that enters would survive (only extremophiles are the exceptions) because of the immense pressure and high salinity levels. My mind was blown looking back at all my favorite episodes and just realizing the ridiculous number of costume related shenanigans that I just totally ignored. Thank you for discussing this! I think one possible reason to support the humans in costume theory is because Hillenburg loved the ocean and we've been doing a poor job of keeping it clean. Having people pretend to be fish would make perfect sense if alluding to a future where all marine life is dead either from nuclear bombs, pollution, or climate change. The level of satire for something so apocalyptic is stunning.
Thats actually a sub theory in itself lol that due to nuclear bombs pollution etc humanity would wear fish suits to live underwater as like above ground like having the suits gives humans the ability to breath under water and create gravity. That would make sense to counter some of his points cause steven hillenburg created the show to hopefully make people have respect for the waters and not have it filled with garbage. Cause if the waters is filled with garbage and the ground is unlivable living underwater isn't a option for humanity's survival

An interesting thing that I’d like to add is if this were to be thought of alongside the nuclear radiation theory, it should be noted that skin peeling off and completely falling off the bone is actually a symptom of severe radiation poisoning. In that sense, the normalization of skin suits could have just been the result of mass skin graftings, and the suits themselves ripping could either be due to said radiation or a failure to replace the damaged skin. It would also explain the multi-layered skin suits, as the rate of failure for the graftings would evidently be high. There are some inconsistencies with this idea of mine, such as the fact that such an extreme level of radiation would logically just outright kill everyone who was affected, and that it doesn’t explain some of the more obscure instances like the gorilla in the Patrick suit. However, I thought this was a neat concept, so I thought I should share it.

WHERE IS FLYING BRAINS EPISODE
You're not dealing with your average Spongebob Theory...
Another layer to the gorilla joke is that the 'real gorilla' is a guy in a suit.
Dang this was the original Mandela Catalogue. SpongAlternates going crazy.
"Now the salmon suit is clearly skinned because its pink." Moments after saying the kid fish who is also pink looks like a salmon. Aight.
The kid is skinned too, that's even creepier

This man really came through, said everyone in SpongeBob is wearing a skin suit, and then dipped forever

Your right but he did said he was only doing this for fun soo

This just randomly popped up in my recommended and I watched the whole thing. I'm not sure how I feel, but this is one of the most insane things I've ever watched, and I mean that in a positive way. Like, I never expected someone to do a deep dive into spongebob skin-wearing culture. The idea is wild, and honestly, great video, man! Thanks for making my night interesting ❤
28:48 Patrick is a starfish he can remove or lose parts of his body and regrow them
The only human characters in spongebob are Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy David Hasselhoff: *Am I a joke to you?*
Calling David hasselhoff a human is a insult
Unfunny
@@2001CusinartToaster so fuck patchy right?
To be fair, he said "show". Hasselhoff is in the movie

“No mention of religion” [completely forgets the time spongebob faced off against the literal Roman god of the sea king Neptune showing supernatural entities of deity quality already exist in the show]
To be fair he is called KING neptune for a reason, a good explanation is that SpongeBob monarchy is set it terms of sheer power, so since Neptune was incredibly strong since birth he was chosen for the role of king and started SpongeBobs monarchy
Also if I remember correctly there at one point Are two fish talking about whether Neptune or Poseidon is the ruler of the sea?
@@realearthly2214 yea I’m pretty sure. But on the other hand in season one sponge bob fry battles Neptune and wins where he is then turned into a god.
Literally thats who I thought mans was gonna mention and when I tell you I fucking WHEEZED as I heard "the Flying Dutchman" instead
there are even jewish fishes in bikini bottom there was one episode when patrick and spongebob gave a barmitzvah to a barn
