  • Baby bud stopped by at Welkers farm, so you can check the video where Legarms went on a crop tour where the hail smashed a lot of the fields.

  • Thanks for the video. I found it real interesting. Never heard of camelina seeds before. Just from what this video contained in information if I was a Montana grower I think i would look into it. Of course a lot of other factors like seed cost, etc, etc. was a informative video. Sparked an interest to say the least. I am old retired farmer from Iowa and follow a number of Ag video farmers like the Welker family. Wonderful people. Likes again for your video and info on camelina. Thanks. • Very interesting crop it appears. At the end of the day, dollars and cents will steer it towards success or failure. Looking for a million acres and ExxonMobil involved would seem to indicate there is some money to be made. The key, as with any commodity, will be what is the farmers cut? Thanks for the video.

  • A bit of a shame that it is all going towards biodiesel. It is supposed to have a pretty excellent oil profile as a cooking/salad oil, with a 2-1 α-linolenic to linoleic proportion and lots of natural Vitamin E to keep it stable from rancidity.

  • I don't see this being profitable without huge government involvement that will be past on in additional fuel cost. Diesel is 5.60 a gallon in the middle of nowhere Appalachian Mountains May 2022. To run low sulfur diesel in my older diesels I have to add two stroke oil that lubricates the injection pump which adds to the operating cost

  • How is camelina different than canola?

    • Both are oilseeds, but camelina is more similar to flax. The pod and seed shape is different.
