  • Some 3.5 inch shotguns don’t like light 2 3/4 target loads man🤷🏻‍♂️ I know my maxus 2 jammed a few times on light target loads. Ran a bunch of steel 3&3.5 shells through it during duck season and now it’l run anything. My guess would be your a5 just isn’t completely broken in yet.

  • I have an older A5. I’m tossing btw the Wicked Wing and a Beretta A400. I’ve handled the above and a Benelli SBE3. The Beretta wins in my opinion. I understand pistols need a break in. Shotguns too. But IDK if it’s fair to hold it against the WW if it’s not really been ran through and heated up. Great shotgun. Love the color. But I’m probably buying an A400. Thank you for the review.

  • Good review. I have the 3 1/2 12 gauge and I love it. Mine cycles 2 3/4 shells fine. It does say they should be at least 1 1/8 shot loads so if you were using 1 oz loads that could be the problem. Mine does not have the issue with sharp edges either. I just got the Sweet Sixteen model as well but haven’t shot it yet. Oh, also I’ve had no issues with rust or the finish chipping but like you said I clean it and try to take care of it. I do take it out in my kayak and duck hunt with it but I don’t beat on the gun.

  • Ethos Supersport is a sweet gun and should cycle even light target loads, and no need to be afraid of beating it up.... it's not that fancy. I have a benelli ethos world class. Talk about being afraid to scratch it... still hunt with it though.

  • I heard people are having issues, I bought 2 A5's 3.5 chamber before the wicked wing pattern came out, mine are all max5 camo and ive had them cycle everything even the light trap loads.

  • Not sure if the new A5's are like the old one. The old one had ring that needed to flip over to deal with lower cycling energy to eject light powder charges.

  • Hav3 you set the friction rings for light loads?

  • I have the same A5 just not wicked wing in 3 1/2 and the only 2 3/4 shells it won’t shoot is the Browning 2 3/4 7 1/2 shot dove loads but any other 2 3/4 shells it shoots fine

    • For sure it’s a lot to ask a gun that’s chambered 3 1.5 inch heavy shot to cycle 2 3/4 light shot. I had a massive breakthrough with the gun.. depending on your shot gun shells you’re shooting.. like how much pressure the shotgun shell created in your barrel with determine how the shell cycles. I was shooting 3” 1 3/4 steel and the gun was cycling just fine. But that she’ll only created 9400lbs of pressure! This was a full choke.. also worked with a modified. My upland loads wouldn’t cycle with a full choke but I was shooting a shell that created 10,800lbs of pressure. I took the full choke out, put in a modified and / improved. It cycled EVERY shell.. Its like guys that blow their shot gun barrels apart.. that’s not the guns fault. It’s because they are too choked down and the barrel had to much pressure. I just learned this from a good buddy. Something most people over look!

      @NateForTree@NateForTree6 ай бұрын
  • I have that exact gun. Bought it this year, I've already put several thousand rounds through it, and this is what I learned. The 2 3/4" has to have 1 1/8 oz of shot. Never had a issue with that. Tried shooting normal 1 oz clay loads and it wouldn't cycle, but it would cycle if the shells are going over 1350 fps.

    • Have you set the friction rings for light loads?

      @paulaallec9952@paulaallec99528 ай бұрын
    • The lighter the load the less inertia to make it cycle, the heavier the load the easier it is to cycle. If it was a 3” chamber it would be more likely to cycle the lighter shells as the bolt travels .5” shorter distance to cycle. Break in period is at least 100 shells. After that it may cycle the lighter loads. Don’t get a 3.5 inertia driven gun and expect it to cycle the light target loads especially before it’s broken in. If you want to shoot 3.5” shells and shoot light target loads get a gas driven auto loader.

  • Also most shells suck. Balls. Back in the early 2ks they started selling lead shot cheap as fuck and instantly they started lowering the quality. It’s only gotten worse

    @mothergoose4231@mothergoose42313 ай бұрын
  • I dont care the excuse. For a 2k plus shotgun it needs to cycle EVERYTHING. Period, do not care. If my net worth is five cents or 5 Billion, agian a 2k shotgun should cycle al rounds. If it cannot it should either be lowered in price and be advertised as a gun that can only cycle 3” 31/2” shells OR not brought to market.

    • you have a great point! I have been using the gun now for 6 months or so and I no longer have issues. so I think that first 400 rounds was a break in period ? m not sure exactly. But I agree, if you spend that kinda money, you should expect it to work immediately
