I got one of these as a child and my dad, who used to work as a car mechanic, decided that "nah, that things too slow", so he basically removed all the electric components and replaced them with stronger alternatives, the thing was powered by 3 car batteries and had a top speed of almost 40 km/h. He later made it slower because the wheels wore down wayyy too fast.

I power wheels have 1 motor on a rear wheel for forward, and a motor on the opposite rear wheel for reverse. I wired up both wheels for foward with and ran screws into the tires to act as studs. With the 2wd and extra traction my kid could actually offroad a bit. Dont let the screws stick out too much or the extra traction will be too much for the plastic gears that couple motors to the wheels.
