    • I don't think decreased exposure to oxygen is a proposed solution. I think they're saying that it's unfortunate that humans and other earthen life are designed to run on oxygen because it's possibly an inefficient element to design an entire organism around. You're little 2 stroke lawnmower would probably be better off if it was a 4 stroke and didn't have oil mixed in with the fuel causing more buildup, less complete combustion and poorer lubrication compared to a 4 stroke. The solution obviously isn't to stop mixing 2stroke oil in the fuel, you'd break it. There is no solution short of getting rid of it and buying a better one

  • The topic of what the optimized life system is, is an interesting and important one. There are many variables to consider. When designing the optimal living thing, there are many things to consider. For example, would the living thing need to breathe at all? What is an advantage of breathing? What is the best type and mix of gas to breathe? The level of knowledge and rational thinking skills to determine the optimized system of life is beyond what any individual human brain can achieve. To be a successful creator of worlds and living things, there is a level of ability needed. When you hear the phrase, "Playing god" it implies that the outcome could be horribly bad. Be careful what you create, it could result in a nightmare that you'll regret.

  • It's true that the length of our life span is limited, but I don't believe it's because of the oxidation affects of oxygen. Cells get replaced, and if they don't get replaced fast enough, or start being replaced with flaws, that's why we get sick, age and die. The concept of humans being hindered as a race because of our limited life span is valid. By the time some people gain any wisdom, they are old and then die. And then young people with no wisdom make stupid mistakes. So, mistakes get made over and over. History repeats itself. It is believed by some people that humans were created by some powerful beings who intentionally limited our life span. This is actually a theme in various religions. It's not a new concept or belief.

    • The reason they are flawed is because of the oxygen, have you literally not watched half of the video?

      @justaperson4540@justaperson4540 Жыл бұрын
    • @@justaperson4540 if I remember correctly it’s mainly because the genetic code is slowly dissolved(mutations which have nothing to do with oxygen) over time making replication of the cells harder over time and eventually impossible. If we were able to repair our DNA then it would help a lot better then just oxygen bonding to our DNA. There’s a jellyfish that fixes this issue by almost literally being born again and becomes a baby every so often.

    • it could actually be worse. Since they live forever they don't like to change and old traditions and values will never change. Our society wouldn't become so progressive enough to reach certain points.

      @XtremeSol@XtremeSol Жыл бұрын
    • @@justaperson4540 Flaws can happen in various ways. The flaw could have been a mistake. The flaw could have been "by design." For example, "planned obsolescence." So the flaw could be a result of intentional or unintentional actions. Some flaws evolve into existence over time through random events. There may be a better life system that is superior to the human one that exists currently. Optimal breathing systems must take into account what is available for gases, and how those gases are going to be balanced and sustainable. If some other gas for breathing would be superior, that gas would need to be available and sustainable. So, it's not just a matter of the living thing breathing the gas, but what puts the gas into the atmosphere. Optimized systems may have sub-optimal individual components. This leads to a discussion of what is ultimately possible. There is often a "trade-off" that needs to be considered in order to achieve the ultimate desired end result.

      @FairnessIsTheAnswer@FairnessIsTheAnswer Жыл бұрын
    • @@FairnessIsTheAnswer well there is plenty of oxygen on earth from plants so i don't see that being a big problem although now they start to disappear. And i mean that the flaws appear as much because of the oxygen not in a sense that all that are there are because of it

  • There’s something I don’t understand about mankind… Seeing how vast the universe is and how little we know about it, why are we focusing brain cells on unimportant things like economy, wars, hair and nail extensions, artificial food colouring and other non essential stuff? Wouldn’t it be great to have abundance of the necessities created by our advancement so far and then have a boot camp of science for all so our progresses are leaps and bounds? What is wrong with humanity that we don’t see the bigger picture but focus on playing hierarchical games when important informations are floating around waiting to be tapped?!! Can’t we just sit up and start focusing on what’s important? Wouldn’t advancement be exponential when more brains with qualitative knowledge and thinking adds to a certain field? What is happening? Am I the only one who doesn’t understand why mankind is still focused on power plays when the meaning of life can be waiting for us out there and we’re yet to find out only because we’re celebrating eggs on social media . When will mankind wake up? Is it hard to drop all this shackles we’ve put on ourselves and then speed through understanding the universe? I mean I will be very hurt if the solution to longevity is out there and I can be living a healthier and longer life enjoying all the delicacies of earth, but will have to settle for less just because people in power don’t understand what to use their authority for. Authority should be used to create a haven for mankind through abundance of life’s necessities and then focus on what’s really important, which is gaining more and more ancient knowledge for our betterment!!! I mean, if we had this information about a millennium ago, imagine the advancements we would have made from its discoveries now? Where mankind will be now. I chose this platform because I know the smartest people are those usually interested in the universe. So kindly tell me if my worldview is just fantasy. Nyɛyi ana wala daa. Bless you all.

It’s true that oxygen ages you fast. 100 years to live isn’t alot considering we have species on earth like whales who live 200 years and certain turtles living 400 years. This means it’s possible to live on earth longer than we think. We as human beings needs to stop assuming that our time is up at around 100. • @@curious-abc-xyz lol ok pal. That's not remotely true. You have zero evidence as does this ridiculous video. Do me a favor. Go stand in an oxygen free environment for 5 minutes.

    • @@charlessanders Why would you say there is 0 evidence? If people from outside Asia are unable to understand something that doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Don't be ignorant, learn by using common sense and just know that all the technology and "advanced" things that you are seeing around you, including companies like Apple are actually started because people visited Himalayas for blessings. Internet is free nowadays, please use it for improving your knowledge and not spreading ignorance. Visit that part of the world and spend sometime and you'll get evidence like Zuckerberg and Jobs did.

    • @@curious-abc-xyz You really have a lot of nerve calling me ignorant when you are being this stupid. There is zero evidence for anyone to have ever lived past 122 years old. That's a fact. Do you know what evidence is? Obviously not. What it isn't are anecdotal stories. The women who lived to 122 was Jeanne Calment who lived in France. Spreading misinformation to gullible people is wrong. If you want to believe in fantasy that's your choice but spreading lies isn't very ethical.

    • @@charlessanders Common sense is not common, you just proved it. It's because of people like you on this planet this civilization hasn't been able to improve as much as it should have been. What kind of human will simply ignore things without even trying to read/research? Are you in primary school? Finish your home work and go to sleep, videos like these are not for kids.
