In this video I created a ring from a 3D printed PETG ring. I added multiple small slanted inlays for the opal mix and copper flakes. It's a very unusual piece but I enjoyed making it!
That is the most unique ring idea I have seen in a while. Looks very nice.
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE YOUR CHANNEL!!! I LOVE OS!!!! ❤️
That one is very beautiful!
oh wow, attaching the wire to (electrical tape?) instead of the ring itself is a game changer!
that ring is gorgeous
That came out beautifully
Gorgeous!
I love the effect you got in those little inlays!
same here, I love anything with a lot of colour. Probably the reason why I have 3 RGB PC's
my wife bought me for christmas a fire red opal ring from you, and i must say i love it to this day. you even rushed to make it for her. Thank you. Keep up the great work my friend, i'll wear this ring until the day i die. Unless of course i find another that i love. All your rings are super tempting haha. Thanks again! - Tristan
Beautiful ring! Just so you know, PETG has a habit of pulling chunks out of the glass bed when it releases. Maybe not an issue with such a small surface area, but it's better to add a layer of adhesive. I use 3DLac but a mixture of PVA glue and water also works.
welcome back :)
Welcome back and that ring is baller as hell
Beautiful, reminds me of a stain glass window x
Wow that’s great looking thanks for your video.
Finally a new video!!!!!!!🌟🌟
This would look VERY cool with inlays of alternating colors.
If there was no picture on the start screen of the video of the finished product, I'd assume it wouldn't come out looking great. Just awesome
His perfection🔥🔥
Great to have you back! Your videos helped me figure out the details of making crushed-gem inlayed wedding bands for my wife and I, which is something I've wanted to do for about a decade, before I even knew her. Found your channel just in time (about 9 months ago). We'll be married 6 months on Saturday. I am very, very grateful for your videos!! Do you find the UV resin helps reduce dents and chips in the surface layer I'm getting with just the CA glue?
And of course, I have SUBSCRIBED!
Amazing one day I'm gonna get one of these rings Trust Me 🤜🏻🤛🏻
That ring is absolutely gorgeous! I want one!! ❤️
I want this ring!
Your videos are great! Where did you get your UV light?
hes backkk
well maybe not
If you’re looking to get a better print quality keeping your printer in a warmer area can slow the cooling of the plastic and improve quality. I’d imagine if you’re remelting it wouldn’t make much of a difference though.
I have a question for ya @TempestRings,. Where do you source you're minerals from? I've been looking for the better part of the day, and all customer review pages have enough ppl claiming scam to make me hesitant.
Is that also for sale on website ? I’m about to pick my wedding band from your site will you do custom order as well like a mix of a couple different rings I looked at?
You could cast the ring with metal if you have a smelter instead of keeping the plastic. Could add rigidity and longevity. Afaik 3d printed plastics won't last long if exposed to humidity so this ring despite looking nice won't last for too long.
I've printed parts that are completely inmersed for years now in a swimming pool, in plain PLA, and they haven't had any issue, so i'm guessing humidity isn't the whole story. Also these mask buckles that everyone used to print during the pandemic (me included) didn't fail either despite being in touch with sweat.
What UV resin are you using? I wish you sold these as kits!
What a cool idea. Do you print at 100% infill prior to fusing in the salt?
Ya! It has to be 100% infill, if there is negative space it will collapse.
Did you design the ring core itself?
like to see damacus with wood barrel inlay inside
I want one
What 3d printer are you using?
How many hours to make and what could you sell it for if you were so inclined?
It just takes a day of work, probably $250.
Is there another name for the salt powder?
What is the liquid you add to the ring at 8:46?
Why don't you use a resin printer? Quality is much better and precise. And for rings you can even use a small one that are only $99.
😁💙👍
any chance you would sell the 3d printed ring core as is?
You for sure, would you want it remelted?
@@TempestRingsanother interested here. Do you have this stl in your shop?
I actually HAVE access to a few of the items that you are using, just NOT those HUMONGOUS OPA CHUNKS that you have!!
how much gram of opal you need for one ring
I ordered my ring over 11 weeks ago and it still has not even shipped yet
Patrick don't do that. Killer ring
Why aren’t you doing videos anymore?!
Right!!??
I LOVE YOU to watch him work!
Can't believe those stones are holding up! I probably would break it if I wore it ..
Whered you go man
Probably busy scamming people on etsy.
Nice, but way too much chemicals for my taste.
