@@commenter7893 The Hulk can lift 70 tons on normal conditions. When enraged he can lift over 100 tons. He can also leap 3 miles in a single bound.

The scene of the Hulk crushing the billiard ball to dust using just his grip and forearm strength is one of the most impressive feats of strength for the entire series. He did a similar feat in the Wax Museum episode where he crushes the ball of a mace into scrap metal.
That was back in the days when TV was worth watching I used to watch this show all the time
I used to watch it in 70s and 80s when it was on T.V. Used to always look forward to it but sometimes when I'd sit down to watch it they would announce a change of programme to an antiques show or something. A few times the signal on the T.V went for like 45 minutes too so missed all the program.
This came to me during what I call TV Darkness, which was when Six Million Dollar Man went away. Never missed a single show. Cheesy as hell, but I didn't care. To me, this was glorious.
If i first heard the hulk roar from behind the counter i would've been out of there in a hurry instead of waiting for him to appear like everyone else was doing.
I was thinking about the killer hulk in that episode The First.

It's funny you should mention that, as Richard Kiel (who was originally chosen to play The Hulk before being replaced by Lou Ferrigno) used to work as a nightclub bouncer prior to becoming an actor.

@@nickhyde420 I know. It's in the lakeside scene of the original 'Pilot' episode, when 'The Hulk' is trying to rescue a little girl and he looks up a tree. Actually, although you may not even be aware of it, Kiel can also be seen in the distant shots of the lab fire scene at the end. He's obviously way too tall and slim to be Lou Ferrigno. Ferrugno was 6'5 and weighed 275Ibs at the time, Kiel was a whopping 7'2 and was 320Ibs. If you have all of the episides and TV Movies on DVD like I have, why not freeze frame that scene and look very closely to see what I mean?

Props to the show for keeping things relatively grounded. Just the Hulk, but no aliens from outer space or bigfoots. Still, it was always a bit convenient how Banner ALWAYS got thrown out of view just before Hulking out.
Stan Lee wanted to have aliens etc. in the show, but Kenneth Johnson fought very hard against that. He wanted The show to be different than the comics.
I heard that CBS wanted aliens in the series but Keneth said no because he wanted this show to be as realistic as possible. This was back when Comic Books weren't taken seriously at all.

In order to pulverize a pool ball you need at least 5 tons of pressure. Saying Hulk is very strong is an understatement.

I only seen the Hulk throw a punch once, David Banner was being hammered by an Angry Gorilla, as he turned into the Hulk he gave the Gorilla a huge George Foreman upper cut to the gut and lifted him off the floor. Anyone else remember the Hulk throwing a punch any other time.
The setup clearly had the viewer waiting for him to be in the bar fight, but he did the usual growling and muscle flexing, so this (IMO) indicates that the Hulk has a conscience and is aware of everything going on, he throws objects to scare people instead of punching them and breaking bones, so the Hulk is not some mindless manifestation of David's inner being...
@@adrian72300 The Hulk definitely had a conscience which was evident throughout the series. He always knew who the "bad guys" were and focused his wrath on them while leaving innocent bystanders alone. And even though he'd shove his adversaries through a plaster wall or pick them up and throw then 15 or 20 feet, he always stopped short of seriously injuring them and his aggressiveness quickly disappeared after the threat was neutralized.
It's tearing the place up, throwing heavy tables so a cowboy hit's it with a piece of wood, come on.

I thought for sure Hulk would tear off somebody's arm in this bar fight, he just scared the people and broke furniture instead. I like any time when Hulk makes a friend, I'm glad the waitress didn't rat him out.

It must have been hard for the writers to keep thinking of ways for Banner to keep getting beat up and then tossed off screen to transform into the Hulk week after week. Even for episodic television it’s repetitive.
He would "Hulk Out" twice an episode, but it would've been nice if they had of let the Hulk be the star for a whole episode, so we could see him develop into the Hulk that can talk just a little bit, you know like his famous line Hulk smash
David Banner proved to be the worst fighter, as well as incredibly accident prone.
@@adrian72300 There some episodes, where he was already the Hulk. Some of it, deals with Banner's psyche mind.
@@adrian72300 I remember Stan Lee specifically not wanting the Hulk to talk in this series, he thought him talking in a live action show was cringe at the time. Keneth Johnson already had a low opinion of comic book characters and wanted to make the Hulk as different as he could so he went with him not talking.

It's hard to put two and two together in this case. To think a person you know can turn into such a big green dude. She could have thought David took off the waistcoat because it was bloody, and the monster got it on somehow.

The one with the mustache in the cream colored shirt (he's one of the patrons, not the bad guys) is Allan Graf, Hollywood's leading football coordinator. He's also been in a lot of movies as random bad guys...Arnold kills him in "Total Recall", Russell Crowe beats him up in "L.A. Confidential," he was in "Boogie Nights" as well.

If Bruce Lee was still alive during this series,,it would have been great for him to choreograph fight senes and even play in some episodes…it would have been epic..👍🏽👊🏽
With the exception of Elliot the Gorilla and the Del Frye Hulk....the Hulk didn't face any opponents who the Hulk could flex his muscles.
