    • Takes so much strength to pull that off. The guy is insanely strong. The gym I used to go to had one of these exact unliftable dumbbells and had a cash prize for anyone who could lift it. I could barely get it an inch off the ground before it slipped out of my hands. I saw huge 300 lbs. powerlifters struggle the same way. Never actually saw anyone pull it off. So yeah, that powerlifter guy is incredibly strong.

  • The variation of dumbbells is extremely useful for a small person like me kzhead.infoUgkxP26Tir6n60vUkdtn4mbwhRO8cwuJQNy2 But the dumbbell size being large it's hard to do certain exercises like deadlift ( I have to have my hands and legs a bit wider to accommodate the size of the DB )Otherwise happy with the purchase. No excuse not to lift weight when it's snowing outside.

    @scottedwards9626@scottedwards96268 ай бұрын
    • The handle being thick is the only reason it's so hard to lift that dumbbell. 73kg is not an out of this world weight to lift, especially considering the amount of people that can deadlift 150kg. I used to do calisthenics in my university, and one day a friend of mine invited me to train at a gym he was training in. The bars were thicker, I couldn't do anything, not even a single muscle up.

  • With grip events it's important to use as much friction as possible so good things to focus on are: 1. dry hands and implement (chalk preferably) 2. get as much skin as possible on the handle 3. If the forces are rotating: use thumb over to stop that even if it feels weaker, it is not. 4. no unnecessary movements: straight up and down is optimal so stand over the implement

  • That's amazing. I hadn't thought about the diameter of the bar making all the difference. The key is having super strong fingers ! 🙂 I wouldn't want to shake hands with that big dude.

  • When Mark Henry did it, he did a full clean above his head, not just lift it up off the ground. Mad props to the last guy for even getting that far with it.

  • Brain shaw said only 100 people in the world could lift it. Its obviously very hard but it's more like 1 in 1000 people or even more (likely way more) could do it, it's just that not many people have tried. What are the chances you would come across 1 out of 100 over the what 8 billion? In London in winter in what looks like not even a busy area haha

    • @@pedroteixeira6005 I am well aware of who he is. This has more to do with hand size rather than anything else. Name 3 of the other "invited" or as you say "knowned people" people aside from the guy that lifted it then.. ill wait.
