Beautiful antique iron ASMR restoration. In this video I showed the restoration of an old antique iron. I found an iron in an antique store and decided to restore it. I think the iron was made in the late 19th early 20th century. I wanted the old iron to work again. I removed the rust and dirt, made a new handle and iron core. I polished the old bronze and did a test of the iron. I hope you liked my restoration.

  • Pretty good reatoration of an old brass 'ox tongue' iron. The brass & bronze irons are not rare, but they are not common either. If you want to be completely accurate, make 2 or more of the insert. When a person was ironing a garment, they would have 1 or more spare inserts heating on the stove or fireplace so that when the current insert cooled down they could replace it immediately with a hot one. Also, you need to add a cake of paraffin wax to go with the iron. When the ironing task was finished they would rub the still warm iron across the cake of wax. That helped prevent corrosion from the heat & wet fabric treatments on the sole-plate. (liquid starch or plain water)

  • Wonderful job. You can see plenty of old, non- restored items but to see one restored as it looked when it was new, I feel is quite special.

  • Love the look of polish brass nothing quite like it. Poor man's gold. Collected it for quite a few years haven't done much with it Lately. Maybe I'll get inspiration from you. We can only hope. Great job. That that's a piece I'd like to have. Again something so simple that works so well.

  • Very cool to watch. My grandmother had an old iron like that as a collectible that she let me play with. It was an odd thing as a toy but a lot of fun. Thanks for reminding me of something long past.

  • Hi, great restoration, but sometimes leaving the object like new loses its beauty and its history, in this case you removed the patina that gave it character to the iron, now it is just a golden object, in my opinion It was only enough to remove the dust and make the wooden handle, anyway, it is appreciated to show techniques that one does not know, thank you very much and great channel, a hug from the end of the world, Chile

  • I’m so glad that I stopped drinking coke and all sodas, can you imagine what they do to your gut after seeing what it does to that old iron? I’ve also lost a lot of weight not drinking sodas!

  • Гвоздь можно было бы и не гнуть, а сделать деревянную ручку. Вещь нужная, можно брать её с собой на природу и гладить без электричества👍

  • Думаю, знову хтось здивується в коментарях, що це не знахідка в землі 😅 Було б дивно: викопати посеред лісу вугільну праску, ще й якогось новішого зразка, де вуголь закидають не зверху. Реставрація, як завжди гарна

    • @@HymenTor це вже «чиста» праска) був шмат заліза або чавуну. Я ж робив вставку, вона так і виглядала. Деякі ще могли мати прорізи. Господар міг мати декілька залізних серцевин, поки прасують однією, інша нагрівалась.

  • Всі від Євгена очікували реставрацію каски, а він нам підсунув праску 😁👍. Кола латунь не очищує. Колись на заводі водій замочував блоки двигуна в спрайті. На ранок були чистенькі як нові.

  • Таке собі... Кола, піскструй, лимонка, щітки, механіка, папір... Кантєнт від лишніх маніпуляцій цікавішим не стане... Якби половину цих лишніх маніпуляцій прибрати, то гірше відео не стало би.

    • Для тих, хто розуміє, то там все ок. 1. Кока-кола не дала результату, 2. Механічна чистка, 3. Виведення залишків міді кислотою, 4. Шліфування. Якби не застосовував кислоти, то довелось знімати значно більший шар металу. Звісно можна без кока-коли, але на каналі, мабуть, вже сотня коментарів назбиралась "спробуй колу". Спробував

  • PLEASE do NOT call a video ASMR.😡👎 You don't know what it means. ASMR. An autonomous sensory meridian response is a tingling sensation that usually begins on the scalp and moves down the back of the neck and upper spine. A pleasant form of paresthesia, it has been compared with auditory-tactile synesthesia and may overlap with frisson. I doubt anybody got all tingly from watching this. The closet thing is that feeling of something bad is going to happen in a horror movie and you get the tingles down your spine.
