  • I really liked the character Kurn. I was disappointed when they ended his story arc with the memory wipe on DS9. I was hoping to see him again.

    • DS9 was a great show with a lot of great plots. But how they dealt with Kurn is one of its biggest sores. The most dedicated of the Klingons to disappear so honourless. Real shame.

    • @@ericshepard6669, had a good chat with Michael about it too. He was given a pretty wide berth when it came to descisions about his character & the writing. In TNG's 'The Enemy' he stood firm on Worf not giving the blood to save the Romulan. The writers went with it.

    • I love that Tony Todd definitely "gets" the character. Kurn is trying to push Worf's buttons, talking to him in a soothing and patronizing way, that should annoy a real Klingon.

  • I love the way Kurn just... lounges in that chair as Worf is talking to him. He's not even looking at him. Plus he's enunciating his words so slowly and carefully, as if he's trying not to say anything that might offend Worf. All this is practically screaming that he thinks Worf is weak. I'm sure if Worf hadn't gone to attack him, Kurn would have never told him who he was.

  • Kurn is the best Klingon. Tony Todd has just the right amount of camp blended into what feels like proper stage acting and it just works for a Klingon on TNG.

  • I just love the almost instant bonding between them when Worf growls, 'your deception offends me, brother'. This is my favourite episode of the series and a pivotal moment in the series' best story arc, in my opinion anyway.

  • I loved Kurn! He was so awesome! My favorite part of this episode is when, after Worf accepts disincomidation, Kurn refuses to turn his back on him...and Worf pretty much has to make him. That's true loyalty, there!

    • I absolutely love that scene. You could really see the pain in his face. Another scene which stands out for me is when Captain Picard orders the Enterprise to the "First Imperial City of the Klingon Empire". The look of absolute pride on his face.

    • I would have preferred an alternate reality where he plans to assassinate Gowron. Stalking him down in a quiet dark corridor guards lay dead on the floor around. As Gowron turns around with those wild eyes he sees the the shadowy figure of Kurn. He says GGGOOOWWWRROOONNN much like he said Helen in Candyman with the echo. Gowron shouts for help as Kurn closes the gap. When Gowron knows he must fight he pulls his bat'leth but loses after a series of blows. Kurn lowers his weapon and with his rage now subsiding says "honor has been satisfied".

    • Tony Todd probably would have made a great Jem'Hadar first too. It's a shame he didn't get more parts in Star Trek. Especially considering how Star Trek loved to recycle actors. Vaughn Armstrong and Jeffrey Combs both played at least a dozen different roles across the various startrek series.

  • I really felt to sorry for him. He was starting to shed tears in DS9 when he said, "Whether it be Earth or the empire. The songs of Mogh should have never been separated. In that moment, he didn't care if he was raised human or klingon, He and he didn't care about honor. He just wanted to have the chance to be raised alongside his brother.

  • His guys acting is really subtle and understated. He's being superficially diplomatic but because he's not actually there for his stated purpose. His faux passes feel legit because of this. And all the time hes very subtlety antagonising Worf in a way which a human wont clock but will drive him up the wall.

  • It is sad what happened to Kurn. Worf had Bashir completely wipe Kurn memory because Kurn was acting like a suicidal cry baby. Had Kurn hung in there for literally a little time Mortok would have restored his loses 10 times over.

  • What I’m surprised about is Worf not recognizing or even suspecting Kurt was his brother given the fact it is canon that Klingon forehead ridges are very similar or the same when it runs in the family lines. Kurn’s and Worf’s ridges are the same, thus Worf should have picked up on that character trait.

  • The story lines dealing with the Klingons were the best episodes of the series. They had characters who had depth and substance, not like the cookie cutter "not really evil or bad, just misunderstood" characters and story lines that I feel plagued the series. Kurn was a great character and could have held his own in a spinoff series.
