A shorter one this time: When visiting P7 regiment the other week, I got the opportunity to ride along in the Strv 102R, a Swedish version of the Centurion tank. What's it like to be inside one of these beasts? Well - extremely noisy, for sure! You can tell this is a tank designed during the second world war! Everything was shaking and rattling and the engine sound was incredible! It was an awesome experience and I thought I should share a short video with you guys.

The fact that it’s the same tank that you are working on makes this experience even cooler
😁 Yeah, it's great to get up close to study the details as well!
Cool!! I did my military service as a gunner in a centurion at P18..back in 1981
Awesome! 🤘🤘🤘
Beautiful tank 🤩
Yeah, it's so cool. 😊
Great Centurion - ridebyWikander 😃
😊😊😊
Nothing beats thundering through the woods on a big machine on tracks! I spent quite a bit of time riding on the engine louvers of 432's and 434's , I didn't mind that the fans would suck up oil and coolant from the bootom of the hull and blow it over me - at least I was warm!
That's pretty awesome! 🤘
Dangerously close on the things, i can see a record breaking amount of detail coming to the new project.
😁 I admit there was a research purpose involved.
@@builtbyWikander The Tyrell Ford 6-Wheeler was the one i hoped to copy best, when a friend and me went for the top 100 of amateur 1:8 scale trophy 2stroke championship in 1994 cars on road, among other german amateurs. Imagine 2.5HP 3 gear automatic on a 2.5kg rc-car. ...yes it's 60mph after 2 secs of accellerating... edit...This was of course the last year 2stroke engines earned a cup of flowers for in any competition...
@@unbekannternr.1353 That's sound pretty cool, must have been a great experience! 😮
@@builtbyWikander The thrill comes with 10 to 12 racers going berserk and sounding like a hornet hive!
Sweet!!! But I'm jealous! There are no armored vehicles that I could pay for a ride where I live. Thanks for sharing.
I hope you get the opportunity one day!
You should make a Japanese Chi-ha or a M60 MBT I love your work and its what is inspiring me to build stuff like you too
Thank you! That's the coolest comment one can get - that others are insipred. An M60 would be nice, there might be some US mkdels down the road.
Я восхищаюсь твоими работами! Особенно понравился AMX - 13. С нетерпением жду твоего нового танка!
3d print 1/1 scale now? 😉
😳
Well... that would at least be easier than shrinking myself to 1/6 scale! 😄
@@builtbyWikander Haha! Good luck. 😁
Have you ever had the 3D printed tracks experience to much grip I’m asking because I have 3D printed tracks for my 1/6 tank I’m working on and they just don’t want to slide when turning at all forward is fine but turning is just super difficult impossible on anything but slippery surfaces
Hmm, no, not really. My experience is that the 3D-printed tracks are quite slippery. With that said, grass is probably the worst surface you can drive in, but other than that, I don't recognize the problem. Perhaps stronger motors would help you turn your model?
first to comment :D awesome video
Congratulation! You win eternal glory! 😁
