thank you, oats jenkins, for replacing my existing opinions for the objectively correct ones. i feel so much less wrong already.
Yes ofc
oats jenkins is objectively right about everything

The concern I felt when you said butterflies have three life stages, and the pictures were caterpillar, butterfly, and moth. 😂
Same! :D
So true
Lol
Fun fact: in french we call moths "papillons de nuit" which literally means "butterfly of the night", so to us butterflies and moths are literally the same insect, the only difference being the time of day that we see them
Wdym french people aren’t real
That actually also makes sense to me since the only times I saw a butterfly is in the day and a moth in the night, also I only see butterflies outside, but moths only inside, specifically in my room, when I'm trying to sleep or about to go to sleep
We also simply call them "mites" in french, which is the official term. But yeah we also call them "papillons de nuit"
i used to be extremely afraid of crane flies, but after a lot of crane fly jumpscares, i managed to appreciate the weird little guys for how neat they are.
Me too I thought I was just weird😅
Not me
I used to think they were giant mosquitoes and I ran from them lol
@@NITE_CALEB good job
nah screw crane flies
As someone with Lymes disease, I appreciate the ticks’ placement
That disease is the reason I’m scared to go in long grass. I hope your doing well
I love that he decided that all invertebrates are objectively bugs. Wikipedia should change their definitions.
I think oats jenkins is already objectively correct enough BUT I think it would be kinda sorta objectively ish maybe possible (please spare my family) correcterer if only arthropods were bugs. Why? Because now Jellyfish are also bugs
@@QUBIQUBEDI'll give you some time to say goodbye to your family, now go before I change my mind
@@QUBIQUBED ever played Hollow Knight? Jellyfish are bugs.
Did you know, not all insects are bugs? It’s just one family of insects with few members.
i feel like that Pill bugs should've been bonus bugs, since they're in fact crustaceas. But i'll let it slide since they're so great
Can we all just appreciate this man's insanity. He put a letter in this tier list.

yet he didnt put scorpions

I thought it was because their therapists weren't as qualified as we would hope, but yeah, I've heard some shady stuff about this company.

i finally find someone who has the exact same fear of insects as me i am genuinely happy

mea Culpa Confession Time. When you had pictures of a caterpillar, a butterfly, and a moth all lined up in that order, then said "I'm going to rank each of their life stages separately," I briefly had the horrified thought of "oh god no, does he think that the moth is the third life stage of a butterfly??" But of course you were referring to the larval, pupal, and adult stages the whole time!!!
I think I have the same thing as you, like I have let 6 inch wide tarantulas crawl on me but I get freaked when there’s a beetle in the bathroom
LET'S GOOOO, love the roly poly love!!! Fun Fact: Despite commonly being referred to as bugs, they aren't actually bugs and are instead isopods, a type of crustacean! (this is my 🤓moment)
I disagree, 'bug' is a colloquial term not a scientific one, it's not strictly defined and is instead much looser in definition. Saying that 'slaters (roly-polies) aren't bugs because they're isopods' is like saying that 'tomatoes aren't vegetables because they're fruit'. They're both, as these terms ate not mutually exclusive.
@@lawn_moa "bug" is actually a scientific term it refers to insects in the group Hemiptera.
@@baguettewoman1413there’s two definitions, the casual one and the nerd one
technically insects are crustaceans actually!!!
ngl "roly poly love" sounds like a song title from the 60s
Oats Jenkins, can you plz do a bread tier list?
I was gonna complain about how snails should be in S tier, but then I found out that it was actually a perfect list so never mind.
As an insect, I can confirm that I have been put on a tier list
Wait what lol
Well you must not be a scorpion then 🤷♂️
@@josephbogren444 scorpions are arachnids i swear
Are you one of the 350,000 different types of beetles?
I wish you had put mantis shrimp on the list! They are very, very loud but it’s a cool popping sound and they’re fun little rainbow dudes who can also one shot almost anything they’re up against
They’re like blood-soaked rainbows
we needed the pistol shrimp
One time I saw a cicada struggling on its back, and when it flapped its wings, it spun around incredibly fast like a Beyblade. That’s gotta be worth a couple extra points, right? 😂
Bees or mosquitos: we are the worst bugs we are annoying and we Sting Wasp: let me introduce myself
You'd probably be dead if it weren't for bees. Just sayin
@@josephbogren444 another point for bees against wasps
actually most wasps are small harmless pollinators you don't even see or notice! There's only a handful of species of wasps that commonly sting people out of thousands of wasp species! Honeybees do not pollinate a lot of native plants and as such they rely on native pollinators such as flies and wasps! Without wasps you wouldn't have MANY other species!
Yay you didn't forget Omega from the last tier list!
I didn’t get the reference. Is it something to do with programming?
@@ezekielsandifer156 in his last tier list he ranked numbers and he said he would put it in the next tier list and so he put in this one
@@DogeGuy. ohhh ok, thanks
In Dutch slugs are literally called "nude snails"
roly poly's aren't bugs. They're isopods. They are closer to crabs than they are beetles. Edit: I posted this before realizing you added crabs to the list of bugs. I have been thoroughly flabbergasted
My biggest fear is bees, and especially wasps, if I even think I saw or heard a bee, then I flinching at every breath.

I’m gonna need a betterhelp therapist after seeing you put wasps in A tier and butterflies in C tier.
Dont feel bad Oats I have apiphobia (phobia of bees and wasps) and I have NEVER been stung by any of them. Anytime ive seen them I either freeze in fear or bolt away.
My tierlist : S : Spiders A : Other arachnids except ticks, myriapods, bees, isopods B : C : D : E : Those that I can feed to my spiders F : All of the others ones
The FDA allows a certain number of whole insects or insect parts in most food and pharmaceutical products. There's no need to be afraid of bugs. They are all around you, even in your food. Enjoy. 😉
Well, dead bugs are harmless...
you should've included IndexError: number out of range, it's my favorite one!

I was okay with him including fleas, ticks, spiders, even worms, but NO! YOU CAN'T JUST CALL A CRAB A BUG. 😭😭😭 Also, dragonflies and bees are S tier.

I used to me really scared of bugs too I would not even go outside sometimes but oh well and as always keep up the great work oats lol
I like how most of these arent even bugs
Once a cicada flew into our house. It was bouncing off the wall like a tiny bullet, screaming, and my sister thought it was an alien.
I have a developed phobia of crickets now... After... The Incident...
i appreciate you putting slugs and snails high up not a lot of people like these lil guys i love them personally, they seem to make great pets and im planning to get one in the future
Random fact because im very bored: Female mosquitoes are the ones who drink blood. Male mosquitoes actually drunk nectar.
This ha been difficult to see, but I always enjoy a oats video
bee is just a little guy though fluffy little goober. i once sat next to one. she was very polite.
bumbles are where its at. only attack if provoked, fluffy lil yellow balls of B, and their lil faces are cute af
Candy centipedes are delicious! They come in a variety of flavors:cherry, blueberry, apple and orange
Reasons why Spiders are cool: Funne web They kill mosquitos Spider-Man
I can't believe you put caterpillars above dragonflies
Bees are definitely S tier
A relatively substantial portion of these are mollusks not insects such as the snail
I honestly agree with you with the roly polys there're pretty nice :)
By the way cocoons are only for moths. Butterflies emerge from chrysalises (which is, by the way, how we differentiate butterflies from moths, because a chrysalis is the hardened body of the butterfly pupa, while a cocoon is a silk casing formed by a moth larva).
A funny thing is that im the same. Im also not scared of spiders but i literally die when i see a butterfly
The worm image is a ribbon worm one of the most dangerous worms ever
Mosquitoes have actually killed half of the entire human population that has ever lived... and died
that is... not true
Bed bugs have left the chat
Quick note: ALL INSECTS GO THROUGH THE FOUR STAGES OF LIFE LIKE BUTTERFLIES!!! (its 4 not 3 because eggs count)
I love how the first moth he showed is a needle felted moth and not even real haha
Insects have 6 legs, slugs, worms, snails, millipedes, centipedes, spiders, etc are not bugs.
BEES DESERVE MORE !!!!!
great video! I love to see the many ways which us humans have invented to cope with our fears. I do however hate to inform you that the word "bug" actually only refers to a specific group of insects that posses a tounge-like proboscis and some other stuff. If you're looking for a word to describe all the animals on this list It is actually quite difficult as it includes not only arthropods (insects arachnids and crustaceans) but mollusks (slugs and snails) and annelids (earthworms). The best descriptor to include all those phylums might be "protostomic coelomates" as they posses both protostome development and a true body cavity (coelom) as unifying characteristics. I also would note that the bonus bugs being crustaceans is ironic considering that crustaceans are more closely related to true insects than annelids and mollusks. 🤓🤓🤓
If it helps I’m not afraid of live bugs. Keyword: Live. I held a wasp before and multiple spiders. Whenever there’s a bug in the house I’m the one who deals with it. But if it’s dead, I can’t get near it without feeling dread. Same with crabs and lobsters and shit (which are basically sea bugs, all arthropods) Edit: I had not finished the video when I commented this, and was not aware you had acknowledged lobsters and crabs and shrimp on your list
8:21 Wasps and hornets do not deserve even the f tier
Bees - literally essential to continued human survival. B tier.
I know that you are objectively correct and this is just anecdotal but wasps can be a real pain when you need to commit micro-scale deforestation
What about Cpp syntax bugs? Forgeting that coma...
thank you for adding omega
OK, the only time ever you were not objectively, correct is when you put dragonfly in such a low tier, dragonfly needs to be an S tier!
You should have put the Gnat at F tier. They are so annoying! One time a gnat flew into my nostril and I hated it.
the only thing i find wrong about this is that WASPS ARE IN A TIER? beedrill is cool and all, but wasps are the freaking crazy neighbors of bees who are for some reason constantly renovating their houses. I cant think any more ways to compare wasps to bees other than, wasps are the KAREN kind of bees.
3:41 as a kid i would collect those brown and black caterpillars all day in the autumn
Bugs were also my biggest fear when I was a kid 💀 The only ones I don’t despise are some caterpillars, stick bugs, snails/slugs, and silk moths. I’m also terrified of bees and butterflies, but they pollinate a lot which is helpful. To all the other bugs, Go boil your larvae ass.
Bro i frickin love roly polys
My Favourite is the underrated fly they are barely noticeable
As a kid (now), I got jumpscared after that “whatever this is” and made an earsplitting scream pfft 💀
Mari Yaguchi:sees bug Also Mari Yaguchi:AAAAAAAAAAAA *crawls in her ear*
roly-polys are also called slaters
He should have included that bear larva
Pokemon has the beautiful Metapod(butterfly) and the creepy Kakuna(wasp) in their cocoons respectively!
The only REAL rule to moths and butterflies is that moth is mean and hurts my feelings by hanging near my home 😭
that picture at the beginning is a vinegaroon i think, completely harmless.
About that I keep seeing this big bug with long legs that can fly I hit it twice it lost 2 of the 4 legs and its still after me HELP
I love bugs (especially spiders like tarantulas)
In my country, rolypolies are called woodlice!
I was staring at that Bass the entire time
Those flying long armed and legged daddy longlegs
I have a very irrational fear of wasps to the point that I won’t go outside for hours at a time if I see one so can you bump them down a bit
I also was always scared of butterflys
I mean; come on. We all know that moths are 200% better than butterflies! (The floofyness. It's the floofyness.)
That’s great to know that my opinion on beetles was correct
That moth photo gives me PTSD from Absolute Radiance
i love taking someone who thinks moths are hairy and brown and shoeing them skipper butterflies the best way to tell the difference between the 2 is their antennae btw. butterflies have clubbed antennae and moths never do
Okay..hear my out... DOES ANYONE ELSE REALLY LIKE CICADA SHELLS? I love seeing them just chilling on branches and stuff. Their limbs stuck pretty well to your shirt so I can have one just chilling on my shoulder.
Roly-poly‘s are my favorite too
How could you forget the cockroach
i’m glad you realized wasps are so awful they don’t deserve to be on the list
I saw the bug in Morning Musume's Furusato It's a cicada!
