    • I believe the VW is considerably heavier than the other three, but has a real transmission. Lower profile tires never do well off-road.

    • Correct. ZERO throttle control. With these new Haldex systems, you must keep STEADY throttle inputs and allow the system to distribute power...

  • A fairer test would be to use the same driver for all cars, but not the Tiguan driver as he doesn’t have a clue how to drive a 4x4!!

  • I do not understand the meaning of the uphill test of the min. 6.27, where the first car is the Toyota RAW4 and then the Nissan Qashqai and then the Kia Sportage, and finally the VW Tiguan that found the grooves of the previous cars ... A test without any sense.

  • Surprised how far they get up without proper tires for these conditions. Bought the RAV4 hybrid that uses the electric motor for the rear wheels. I only use the vehicle as a daily driver so heavy snow conditions at times. I'd never attempt anything like these boys are with my own SUV and highway tires.

  • Tiguan= best to drive,awesome comfort,good power, great AWD traction as well as safety. (Expensive maintenance) Rav4=Best fuel economy,best reliability,best resale value. Sportage= Cheapest price, average on everything and not spectacular. Qashqai= Good to drive,looks cute, fuel efficient( Very small compared to the other 3)

    • Tiguan's suspension is the worst of all 4. So i highly doubt about the 'awesome comfort', as i wanted to exit it after a few minutes on not very good road.

  • Crossovers are highly underrated as offroaders. Of course something like a Jeep Wrangler or a 4runner will almost always be better offroad, but you almost have to be looking for challenging offroad obstacles to get something like AWD Rav4 or Forester stuck.

    • True that 😁. But the petrol ones seem to be a bit more reliable. Mines a 2011, bought new, and haven't had mamy issues apart from batteries because if short distance driving mostly. Check my channel out to see what they're capable of offroad.
