Looks easy to make, boy was I wrong. Persistence prevails

  • I sometime put this videos on at party's. "Dude you've got the AUX, what do you want on?" "LAMINAR FLOW!"

  • Why would you introduce a screen after the straws - making the laminar flow less laminar by introducing turbulence back into the stream when the water flows over the screen? It's difficult to not have some imperfection in the nozzle but by adding a screen after the straws you're deliberately undoing the laminar flow you've just created.

  • Hi I tried for leminar nozzle, but after some distance water spread. I want to know about LOW PASS FILTER. is top & bottom empty space are play a role of LOW PASS FILTER. what is air tank before leminar nozzle? Dear Sir I also tried for laminar, up to a extend I successes, but after a distance water spread. I use 4" dia pipe and 10" long and water jet hole is 12mm. pump is 18 meter head and discharge 6480 lph. I need water flow rate and pump specification

  • What are the details? Water Inlet size, pipe diameter and length nozzle size gpm incoming water max distance and height achieved before any distortion was created in the stream from beginning to end?

    • I found a regular garden hose works just fine. I drilled a hole just big enough so I could jam the front end of the spray nozzle in the bottom, this worked great as I could adjust the flow rate and the hose simply clicked on. As for the hole in the top start small and see what works best for you and your water pressure just don't exceed the diameter of the incoming hose and you should be right. So you don't ruin a bunch of end caps use a piece of coke can on the inside and drill a hole in that. Getting the nozzle sharp on the plastic cap is time consuming. One thing the other videos don't explain is the importance of the low pass filter. You need one to remove the pump jitter from the water. I got a nice stream to go 5m with a 80mm pipe (300mm long) with a 20mm hose connector inflow and 12mm nozzle hole. Once that worked I couldn't help push it and then connected my pool pump to it. This went so high I could barely keep it within my backyard, something like 25m but it wasn't laminar

    • I want to use my pool pump to supply my jets and I will just gate down the flow to the heads to where I need it to maintain a laminar flow back into the pool. I thought of an Idea that I posted in the forum for a low pass. What if you were to remove some of the water from your cartriage filter, say about the top 10" and replace with air. This should make a great low pass filter right after the pool pump by adding 10" of airspring to remove jitter. My filter is 4 ft tall ans 12" in diameter. The filter inside should help smooth things out as well.

    • Hey I tried your idea out using pool pump and canister filter. It didn't really work, still needed the low pass filter. Here's a idea which I'd like to try but, make a laminar hose, with lots of smaller hoses inside it, that could potentially eliminate the need for the whole pvc and straws

      @djdegraaf@djdegraaf7 жыл бұрын
    • Dam, I thought I was on to something. That's a pretty interesting idea on the hose, definitely let me know how it works out. You could also try a section of coffee straws few inches of sponge section of coffee straws etc... repeat numerous time and after a few feet show be little to no turbulence at all. Maybe feed a 2" flexible PVC hose with a 1" supply out a 1/4 nozzle. That should help slow water down before the exit point.

  • Whats driving the flow here? An actual pump or just water pressure?

    @ello1234567@ello12345677 жыл бұрын
    • Good question, it's a pump. Both ways still show pump jitter in the water too

    @andreaedelman5998@andreaedelman59987 жыл бұрын
    • It's because after passing through the smaller tubes the water picks up turbulence. Straws should have been of smaller diameter and probably better filing of nozzle tip will produce a better 'laminar' flow
