CHRIS cannot smile. The 21-year-old has Moebius Syndrome - a rare condition which affects facial expressions and eye movement. Growing up, Chris was subjected to cruel name calling. Chris told truly: “I got picked on a lot. People called me ‘fish boy’ - anything related to an animal that has big lips.” He found out about a surgery that could help construct an artificial smile but it came at a cost of $300,000. Chris decided to find a way to raise that money and started working online and set up a marketing business. He’s now making an impressive $50,000 a month in revenue and about $25,000 a month in profit. Chris said: “It might not look like I’m smiling but when I’m in my dashboard refreshing my sales insights I definitely am.” Despite receiving negative comments online, Chris’ confidence has grown since sharing his story and knowledge on social media, he finds humour in the comments and his family are so proud of the resilience he’s shown.

It's not for no reason. People have been picking on disabled individuals since the start. It's just that the newer generations, on the whole, are a lot more accepting, compassionate, and tolerant. 100 years ago, he might have remained an outcast without the possibility of improving anything. He's very fortunate. :)

Been feeling pretty down lately, and I came across your story a moment ago, and the spirit of GOD moved in me to listen,...I to, due to another condition, am unable to smile anymore. (Yes i was able to years ago😢) But I havent since. It took a major toll on my confidence in speaking with people and weighed very heavy on my spirit. It looks like smiling isn't the only issue but not being able to close his mouth . I don't know what kind of a business he has but he looks good in his photographs and I'm glad it's helped him too reach some sort of self-acceptance !
Some muscles are probably not functioning or paralyzed. It’s quite amazing that he speaks clearly, just a very minor distortion, even if the lips don’t move too much. I’m also glad he did not allow the bullying to keep him from his current and hopefully continuous success ❤
