I miss playing basketball video games. Ever since 2k servers started disappearing along with my vc. I was done. My mind is blown that people defend this company. Player base is down but profits are up. They’re gonna suck the life out of the little but of players they have left. I hope they all go broke buying 2K VC and end up homeless like Squidward in his cardboard box and tin can!!!
Two things I remember about the glory days of 2k15-17 1.Dribble spams were easy steals, if you did a spin move into a player without them pressing anything it would knock the ball loose and you would get picked. 2. Moving Screens existed and screens that worked didnt have longlasting animations that glitched the defender. Defence needs to be buffed. Big time.

Yup, the 2k community broke this game. I’ve been saying it for years, the majority of people who play this game claim they hate it. Yet, they’ll probably hop on any time they can & blame “Ronnie2k” when they miss shots
This video deserves a million views. Great Editing and telling the gods honest truth. The sad thing about it is, 2K doesn't even need to change the game that much. The Fanboys are gonna buy 2K every year spend $3000 dollars on the game anyway. I personally haven't played 2K since 2018 because I saw the Play coming. I knew where they were taking this game. Now they are literally making the game pay to win.
The worst part is the lack of body up animation on defense. You could have a player with 99 strenght and perimeter and interior, you will still be like a ghost for the offense.
Finally someone that talks about the issues aside from just the VC. The issues go FAR beyond that. Gameplay needs to go back to how it used to be before 2K21
This is why I liked NBA live 19 defense. As incomplete as the game was, I had fun playing defense because there was laws set in play. You had the ability to get a red , yellow or green animation. If you got a green and timed the steal right then you get the ball. I rarely felt like I was out of my league and if felt more fair playing defense on the wing. The 2k community is okay with exploiting and cheese and the devs encourage it with badges. I'll never spend my money on this shit

I played in two different money Leagues for Live 19 and yeah there were some broken builds like the wing defender and stretch big but it felt like almost every build in that came could be utilized if you actually worked as a team. I was a Point Gawd and I still have multiple screenshots of me dropping 15+ dimes. Or getting triple doubles with steals or blocks. It wasn't perfect but it felt like you actually had a chance to play basketball in that game.

Imagine, just imagine for a second, that there is no VC, and your player gets the attributes with your play, and training drills, just imagine.. even in FIFA in a career you get stats when scoring goals like if you score 100 goals you will get +3 to finishing, I mean is that really that crazy? Or it just makes sense
Or even better madden where if u picked a superstar career u could start as basically an 82 ovr. U could also start as a late round pick or undrafted, but you’re development would be faster. I may hate EA as a company, but I won’t lie they showed they cared a little
I’ve been saying. Dribbling and offense does not need to be nerfed, we just need better defense to match it. Every year y’all complain about offense and then they nerf it and the game is boring.

@@Culley91 as long as the dribbling mechanics can be aggressively exploited with the walk backs etc, it’s not fine. It doesn’t matter how good the defense system may get until that’s fixed at the root.
2K is the poster child for giving you the least but asking the most. They don't even advertise, they watered down My Career (probably didn't want to do the work), and now there's a Battle Pass when they have a $150 version of the game. Bro that's crazy

For 2K21, you could fund a new build with 75K - 100K VC to make its overall to 84. It costed you only $20 to get your player (depending on if you already played games with that player before bumping up their overall by grinding) to get to 84 overall. I did that with 4 separate players and just straight grinded them from 84 to 90+. Increasing the VC prices and people still are falling for them is crazy to me.
Especially since 2k21 and 22 the disparity got so ridiculous between offense and defense that I realized you can’t even in the slightest treat it like IRL defense aka reactionary. I started treating it like how you would treat 50/50s in fighting games (attacks that are too quick to block on reaction so u have to predict them) and it did help. most players are hella predictable and you can force them to bump you. But we need to be rewarded for good defense/bumps.

I think the decision 2K removes offline Mycareer mode from NBA 2K since 2K20, just destroys what this game should be.

Irl when some spaz dribbles, they literally go nowhere and you don’t have to put much effort to keep them in front of you; and then they have little to no energy to take and make a shot, specially anything stepping back or sideways, or at the rim, let alone with any type of contact. It takes a serious shot maker to be able to score, and even then it’s not at a high percentage, and the flip side is they have no energy for defense on the other end. If they could implement that, plus ability to be rewarded for defending correctly, things would even out. Let them spam, but make the penalty hurt them on the defensive side
EXACTLY! I wish there were more ppl that had an understanding for actually good game design. I’ve also never seen ppl address the fact that u can negate the boosts being lost with LT/L2. The majority of the community doesn’t want a balanced game.

I think if you lose an adrenaline bar from dribbling, the next 1/2 defensive possessions, you should lose that stamina on the other end, and be a liability. Something like that would really tone down the cheesing because your points won’t matter if you are just gonna give up points on the other end. But like you said, and smoove said, people aren’t good at something on the offensive side of the game, complain, and defense gets nerfed, with offense getting buffed, and the cycle continues. Then same people complain the game is the same every year, and don’t get they’re the reason.

as a 2k vet since the very first in 99 on Dreamcast...saw this coming in 2k13....played 2k14 which was officially the last one i played....tried to tell ppl since 2k13 but no one wanted to listen....i told you so. i play 2k11 and even though its bad and super scripted...i play 2k12 because of the UBR mod...and to relive all of the history of the NBA and the ABA its worth dealing with the cheese with adjustable sliders to have a lil 2k fun

I stopped playing 2k at 2k19 or 20 once mypark was empty af for some reason. I stopped Madden right there as well. The only way to complain is to stop buying the game and make their sales drop.
You earned a sub from me because real talk my first time playing NBA was 2k23 and it is the worst multiplayer experience ive ever had purely because id have like an 86 ovr after a 105 hours of grinding and still they would blow past me and just rim run 24/7 or spam to go right or left and eventually id give him space to shoot and he would immediately green it not to mention i did this both on PC and Console the community is ass but the game has insurmountable amounts of potential

2k defense have been garbage for YEARS. I been saying this for the longest. The defense is running through quicksand and sliding all over the place while the offense has speed boost after speed boost. That's a design choice. It's that way on purpose to make the offense look good. The game is literally designed to make the offense always have an advantage, and they will never fix it because all this community cares about is offense. Every year, all I hear people complain about is dribbling and shooting. People think defense is just steals, which is why you had all these people who just spam square to the point where they basically had to patch on ball steals out of the game. The 2k community doesn't care about playing basketball.

Finally, someone complains about defense. Apparently they are removing quick first step and add a badge to help defense keep up. (I don’t believe it would help much) that’s why 1v1 court and 2v2 courts always seemed broken to me and just whoever exploits the game better wins😂 As a person, that plays my team you can tell a person who comes to my team from park and just dribbles his ass off and get mad when your switching cover passing lanes instead of letting him speed boost around my traffic cone of a defender😂

Reality is there’s no team basketball. Everyone wants to score and if you’re playing with randoms OR with a friend or 2 and go in the rec you will guaranteed be sold by the other duo/trio even if you don’t sell them. I believe it’s more of a toxicity and selfish community in general. It’s points over wins so people will find the easiest route and look for those spams online. Even if they get patched the community will cry about it. Now with the micro transactions it’s going down hill but yet they have 0 competition which has us by our b***s. Sucks

Why I don't even f w the online part of 2K, I tried for about 2 days and realized it's just unplayable
exactly why I didn't buy it this year. I bought it last year, like every year before that and ended up playing for like 6 hours. I've been playing every year since 2k16 and love playing as a SF, but if you make a SF and play on line, be ready to be put in C or PF position and never get the ball. All these kids just wanna dribble for 24 seconds and then shoot it from half court. you make any other build than a PG, you'll be stuck playing C position with 4 PG's on your team, all of them want to do the same thing. it's not basketball anymore.
I'm still playing 2k22 and 16 I don't wanna play 24 it's TRASH.
Remember when a green shot was supposed to be a garuanteed hit, but not the only way you can hit a shot on 2k? Pepridge farms remembers. Seriously why tf would a 92 rated 3 point shooter miss just because it's half a centimeter away from being green. Also 100% agree defense is a joke. That's why one year I just tried to run the Chino Hills offense on MyTeam.

This video was funny and had great points I agree with. I’m glad people have decided to speak up on how bad and money hungry the game is. Every 2k I’ve given park a try but it is literally brainless gameplay. My main game mode is Myteam but since they ruined that there’s no way in hell I’m going to buy this game. Micro transactions run the game now and it’s really sad.
