these videos are not for entertainment, they are clearly "fair dealing" under UK copyright law and are exempt as they are reporting current affairs, as I am sure you are aware UK courts "bear in mind that considerations of public interest are paramount".
UK courts see the fair dealing defence usually only applies when part of a work has been taken such as small clips as per my youtube videos.
Reporting of current events
Under Section 30(2), fair dealing using any work for the purpose of reporting current events, with sufficient acknowledgement, is a valid exception to copyright. Photographs are excluded, however; Cornish, Llewelyn and Aplin write that this is "in order to preserve the full value of holding a unique visual record of some person or event" (17TH MAY 2018) Subscribe for more Jordan Peterson.

  • When I'm in the bookies, I see broke bums around me, homeless drug addicts, alcoholics, angry people in general, these are the results of mental breakdowns caused by gambling, I sometimes stop for 3 months'ish and when I get stressed and bored I end up back in the bookies, so it was all in the brain really, will power and a hobby are the 2 things you need to stop and get rid of it.

  • Gambling starts like most minor bad habits. Its severity happens slow. Like just drinking beers with friends and then someday find yourself drinking alone one time and you just dont take much notice. Months years later you drinking regularly byyourself to cope with things like anxiety and looneliness. Gambling seems harmless first and for most it is. But I wanted to find a system rhat works in time. I was after getting an edge and winning longterm. There is so many videos and forums about different systems and those with gambling problems surely already now. THERE IS NO LONGTERM UNBREAKABLE SYSTEM THAT GIVES YOU WINNING FOREVER. The games are created to make gamblers loose. The deeper you dig into this and the more experience and knowledge you get the more dangerous it can be when you think you are UNIQUE and can get an edge. THERE IS NO SYSTEM THAT WORKS FOREVER. Forget about an lasting edge.

It’s terribly sad and disgusting it generates so much tax revenue for the state and federal governments. They’re addicted to the money it’s created off the backs of peoples misery. Not to mention it has decimated live music at your local pub. You’d be a fool to think they are a harmless fun thing.

    • +Alfred of Wessex cut the crap mate, we both know what you ment, point still stands, like drug users, nobody forces ppl to gamble and become addicted, bookies are a business at the end of the day employing people so of course they need to make a profit, doesn't stop me or you from winning if we pick the right bet.. so stop crying

      @mrcheese4248@mrcheese42486 жыл бұрын
    • Clive Wilson You just ignored everything I said. I never claimed anyone is being forced to gamble and I explained my use of the word 'rob'. My point was with regards to advertising, so would you like to see drugs being advertised on mainstream TV? I can picture it now: "Receive £20 free cocaine after your first £10 purchase". After all, drugs can be beneficial to some people just like gambling, right?

      @fathertedczynski@fathertedczynski6 жыл бұрын
    • +Alfred of Wessex depends on what drug, cannabis for over 18s I would happily see advertised, it has cured many many people of cancers, eye problems, kids with ADHD, fits ext, the list is endless.. as for drugs such as cocaine, heroin then no I wouldn't like to see those advertised as they have no health benefit what so ever, pain killer applications maybe but not for recreational use. as for ignoring what you said, well your right because we both know you didn't mean rob as in the definition you said later, deni this all you like but you know you ment rob as in stealing people's money, so yes I did ignor what you said but only because it was utter horse crap and you know it

The difference with online gambling is that you have to wait 3 or 4 days to get your winnings (if you win) but with high street bookie its the thrill of trying to win quick cash when a computer is fixed to beat you every time!

  • I go by the view of no interference unless something is proven to be detrimental to society. Controlled gambling is fine, these machines, their locations and settings are clearly targetting certain people. Someone on £30k a year doesn't wander into a bookies at 2pm, they go to a proper casino. I fully support this change as i've helped those made suicidal by them.

  • Hard to fall anywhere on this, on one hand you want the market to be capable of doing what it likes and for people to do as they choose but on the other you'd like if these business weren't so directly utilising machines against people who are susceptible. To distinctively challenge the idea of this decision you need to understand the risk's and potential good of gambling in general: Does the enjoyment of gambling out weigh the bad? Depends who you ask... Someone who spends no time betting will ever feel the positives and enjoyment that can happen because of it and or experience the potential monetary winnings. In regards to the negative they will never lose money to this form of entertainment and certainly wont be gambling incredible amounts now or even in the future. Someone who spends every week gambling will more than likely lose more money than they gain on average as the industry wouldn't make money if it wasn't the case and depending on the individual they can be sucked into a downward spiral of dependency addiction through machines or betting. Gambling everything you have to make back losses you may or may not consider important would never be something anyone in your family would suggest but people should be free to make those choices... On the other side if you are cognitively sound and find yourself capable of managing your money you can experience the enjoyment and excitement of betting whilst on the off chance winning minor or significant amounts of money that can either do nothing or potentially change your life *However often never happening*. You get enjoyment out of the mere act of putting something on the line and being capable of making that decision knowing you wont get addicted means you are accepting any potential loss. Do we stop people like this being free to utilise their money in ways they wish to? It's hard to answer directly What could be said is that more options would be an obvious benefit, If anything is to be seen as progression it would be to have both restricted and unrestricted machines. This would then solidify the choice of the individual and let them experience more broadly what it is like to win and lose in different capacities. Questions that should really be considered for discussion: Is gambling unique entertainment? Are there lesser and lower damaging forms of gambling that can also generate wealth at the same rate as big money gambling? Does Banning certain forms of entertainment create extremes of said form of entertainment always? Will Banning certain forms of gambling create illegal forms of the same type? Will those illegal forms be utilised by a dangerous number of people? Do you lower the general risk of gambling for the sake of the majority but increase the potential risk of the minority in the case of good? My answer on the topic is to let the general public vote on any restriction, but only after alternatives have been tried E.G in the form of lower risk machines and NEW types of gambling machines that reinvent the form of gambling.

    • Gambling is a business which takes advantage of peoples addictions and can ultimately leave those people reliant on the state where otherwise they wouldn't be. The normalisation, advertising and availability of gambling is something which can be solved by the state.

      @terrortorn@terrortorn6 жыл бұрын
    • terrortorn By that logic, you should be prohibited by the state from eating junk food or drinking alcohol, both of which present externalities. This is an individual liberty issue. State prohibition of any consumer-demanded service does nothing but make the problem worse. Stop trying to solve social problems by pointing guns at people until they comply.

      @s0lid_sno0ks@s0lid_sno0ks6 жыл бұрын
    • No you shouldn't. Gambling machines are deliberately designed with those addicted people in mind junk food is not and neither are alcohol beverages. Alcohol is not designed to keep people drinking alcohol and sugary foods are not designed to keep people eating. The "science" of the bookmaker is to keep people playing, keep people spending while queering the pitch heavily in the favour of the bookmaker always winning. It is a predatory industry that exists to take advantage of the frailties of the poorest in society and can bring a person down far quicker than alcohol, sugar or tobacco who in turn may require the support of the state to bring them back up.

      @terrortorn@terrortorn6 жыл бұрын
    • You don't have a right to gamble. It is a business provision not a right. Eating is an actual bodily function and a requirement for life so is drinking whether sugar laden foods or alcoholic beverages, gambling money is not. Gambling has no necessary social function, no physical or emotional necessity it is a parasitic industry that deliberately targets and encourages those people most likely to never gain from it. It a non sequiter to compare it to food and drink so your basic premise is flawed and something that is actually stupid.

      @terrortorn@terrortorn6 жыл бұрын
    • terrortorn I have a right to do with my time and money whatever I damn well please, so long as all parties involved are acting voluntarily. And should you try to stop me from doing as I please with my property and consenting collaborators, I have a right to repel your aggression with force. You have NO RIGHT to violently insinuate yourself into the voluntary associations of consenting adults. Your impulse is the exact same impulse that guided people like Hitler and Stalin.

      @solomoncallen5007@solomoncallen50076 жыл бұрын
    • Big-dick Bret you've just retreated into libertarian talking points instead of addressing what I said. Outlawing gambling would do a world of good for society. Abstract concepts such as someone's 'right' to impoverish themselves and their family shouldn't take precedent over measures that could help thousands of people.

      @solomoncallen5007@solomoncallen50076 жыл бұрын
    • Schopenhauer it's for the same reason you don't have the 'right' to take opioids. Not only do you damage your own well being, you severely impact the lives of those around you in a negative way. It's not about what I deem appropriate or even you for that matter. Thousands of people are suffering needlessly at the hands of predatory gambling industries that incite false hope and rip people off. I wouldn't be in favour of banning video games because they simply don't cause the misery and suffering to people in the same scale as gambling. You also mentioned chocolate. Things like alcohol, sugary snacks and junk foods are too widely consumed and trying to ban them would cause more harm than good. I would certainly be in favour of campaigns that raise awareness of the negative health effects of consuming these things. Anti-smoking campaigns have proved very effective when sponsored by the state and I wouldn't mind seeing a similar thing happen with other vices and poisons.

Also the only game on these machines that is affected is roulette and blackjack as far as I'm aware the slots can still be bet at £2 a go which is currently what its at! Listen there must be a limit on these games because these machines are very very dangerous and if there wasnt a limit then why don't we have £200 a spin, £300 a spin, £500 a spin. I'd rather government outlaw high-street bookies and turn gambling into a thriving black market industry. Thereafter, the government should keep out. If people want to enter the black market, then they don't have any excuses or complaint when they play a rigged game in an unregulated market. I could give fuck all then.

  • So a ban on gambling because it hurts the family? Why not ban alcohol at the same time. Just because some families suffer does not mean you can remove the option for everyone.

  • Your lack of knowledge about slot machines just reinforces my suspicion of how stupid politicians are. Changing the amount you can play per spin does not help. The fact that you have limited the payout to 500 pounds makes it worse because people will still put thousands in, in order to try win 500. The investigation into the algorithms placed in them need to be scrutinized monthly . Your policies simply enrich the thieving companies. all slot machines should be banned. The gambling commission has failed the public. What needs to happen is a Boycott until they go bankrupt!!

  • Britain and gambling go together like Fish and Chips or crisps and beer. It's part of the culture, some people will always have the urge to self-destruct. Take away one means, they will find another. The government should stop meddling and lt people make their own bad choices.

    • To conflate the two is an indication to me that your announcement is made purely from a point of ignorance and prejudice. Psilocybin Mushrooms grow outside, how on Earth do you propose to "ban" the proliferation of a natural substance? They grow in the field next to my house for God's sake. You're a fool.

  • Peterson is wrong on this one. We can't structure society around the weakest of society. Let the idiots who want to throw away all their money on gambling do so. It's voluntary.
