Lady Gaga Goes Makeup Free For Stripped Down 2023 Oscars Performance

Lady Gaga blew away the audience during her surprise performance at the 2023 Academy Awards on Sunday night. The 36-year-old sang “Hold My Hand,” her Oscar-nominated song from the film, “Top Gun: Maverick,” and brought the audience to their feet. The Grammy winner wore a plain black tee with black jeans and sneakers for the act. She went makeup free on stage and explained why the song is so personal to her. "You might find that you can be your own hero, even if you feel broken inside," she said.

She is a natural beauty. Her eyes are the most beautiful eyes. She doesn't need any make up but make up makes her feel powerful and is apart of "Lady Gaga" and I respect that. When she still has make up on but its very soft, she looks gorgeous too. She is an artist, theatrical when being Lady Gaga so all that make up is apart of it. She said she did crazy looks because she never felt beautiful just as Stefani. As she got older, she felt more and more beautiful just as she is. I think I look better without make up too, but hell I still love a full glam look that makes ME feel confident and powerful. I do it for no one but me. So does miss Gaga over here ❤

She looks great! But she does wear makeup though ☺️ She’s powder that reflects for sure (which you have to have under those lights) and you can see the mascara on her lashes. But it doesn’t matter! She looks fantastic and performs great!

The behind the scenes video came out, and you see that she literally washed her face from the red carpet make up, puts on the jeans chucks and t shirt and came out to the stage... If her skin doesn't reflect is because they adjusted the light in purpose when she rehearsed; and her lashes are naturally like that - after she washed her face maybe she still had a bit of the mascara she wore in the red carpet for not washing so well*

Oscars 2023 "Best Supportive Performer" Award for Lady Gaga! There were many noteworthy accomplishmnets last night, and I enjoyed the level of deep appreciation and gratitude many of the award recipients shared. However, one of the main highlights of the evening for me happened after the spotlights had been turned off after Lady Gaga finished her performance of Hold My Hand. I was deeply moved by her obviously sincere appreciation for each of the artists who accompanied her as she took time to embrace and share her appreciation with each one.

It's disappointing to see that despite using Top Gun Maverick extensively to promote the Oscars, the movie didn't receive any big awards. While the Oscars aim to celebrate excellence in the film industry, it's an unrecognizable institution that reflects the interests of few. I'm glad I decided to do something else last night.

The moment I noticed she had no make up……dressed down in street clothes…..I knew this was going to be the most authentic performance/visual of the evening.
