I download your non base game only or pack limited builds every time even though I only have seasons, for rent, and parenthood. Please don't worry about the pack builds, i use your houses as base builds and floorplan guides. Everything is useable.

I agree but just because you dont mind doesn't mean that applies to everyone. Simsie is just trying to make content for everyone, alternating between limited pack builds and unlimited ones.
I had limited packs for a long time but still downloaded her builds and even sims (even the ones with tons of custom content I didn't plan on installing). It's super thoughtful of her to build pack-limited builds, but what we're trying to say is that she shouldn't worry when using a ton of packs in a single build. Even those who don't own all the packs can enjoy the builds and content - and sometimes use it to check if a pack is worth buying based on build buy mode.
@@Moomphs At the same time she owns all of the packs and is a Sims content creator, there's nothing wrong with her using the packs she has and it's ridiculous for people to expect her to cater to them specifically. I think it's good she does a mix of both but I dislike her having to feel guilty for using packs she owns when there's literally nothing wrong with it lol

I can relate to the guilt when trying to care for a pet. My dog had lymphoma and had to endure chemotherapy and although dogs and cats handle it better than people it still sucked to watch him suffer. He died today. I feel like crap. Snaps needs all the love and comfort you can give. Cherish them as long as you can. You did the right thing protecting your kitty from cancer. 💙❤️

I...kinda love this build actually! I am super fond of the minty teal colour you used on the exterior and - look, I know its a lot but I might actually go looking for this build to put on my save😅 I feel for you and Snap so hard. It teally is the worst feeling when you're pet is suffering and you know you're doing all you can and its only temporary but they don't understand and you can't explain it to them... Hopefully by now Snap is having a bit of a better time. My heart goes out to you guys❤
I literally had tears in my eyes listening to the Snap update🥺 I am SO sorry that you have to go through that, and I know it's hard (I've had a similar experience with my childhood cat), but it gets better! Simsie’s description of her relationship with her cat reminds me of my own cat, who I had since she was a kitten. Unfortunately mine was diagnosed with an aggressive liver cancer which had spread before signs even appeared, it all happened so fast and it was already too late to save her; she was 16 and surgery would have only given her maybe a few months at most. The most painful decision I've ever made was to have her euthanized, she passed away on my lap as I was petting her to sleep. I’m so happy to hear that Snap is alright and that the surgery was a success; losing a pet to cancer was an agonizing experience that I wouldn't wish upon even my worst enemy, much less someone as kind and charitable as Kayla.

i absolutely LOVE the way the building is all colorful and full of patterns, its kinda amazing how well you managed to mix them all in a coherent way, because this could totally have turned into a sensory nightmare but it was so pleasant for me.. i can see why you would dislike it, being so outside your comfort zone, but it looks beautiful to me
She pull off it really well considering she hates this style. She say she dislike it multiple times in the video but this house is more interesting than the hundreads blue suburban houses she always make.

The firefighter talk honestly is pretty much like my irl experience with them. They went to the wrong street first and it sure felt like forever (especially since the volunteer rescue center is at the end of the road but ig that's not who got sent out). While my mom got the cat out and stepdad sprayed back the fire with a hose. Luckily in that situation everyone ended up ok. The cat had the most difficult recovery but he's all good now just the chillest cat livin his life. It was just extra rough since it was right before covid hit so the house reno for it to be livable took a while.

Glad Snap is doing well. 🐱 It's so hard taking care of sick pets because it's so confusing for them. I totally relate to the guilt you're feeling. Just keep telling her how wonderful and gorgeous she is and how much you love her, and of course gentle pets and snuggles when she allows. Hopefully she'll need fewer meds soon and stop having such hard come downs. ❤ You clearly adore your babies, you're doing great.

as someone who loves boho maximalist styles, my tip is to just go all in. like completely crazy. at the end it looks like it fits a lot better than when you try to make it match

When you got movie hangout and wedding stories, I thought OMG YOU GOT SUCH GOOD STUFF! 🤣 Those windows are my FAVORITE. I use them in so many builds. And I love the poofs and couches and stuff in movie hangout. And those doors. It's funny how differently it can seem to two different people. You make beautiful builds.

Honestly I love the colors. But I'm weirdly determined to always have at least a little brazen color in most of my favorite builds. This build looks very like the sim was influenced by african style or latin American style. I used the backyard kit to make a "funky flamingo" lounge community lot. (Entire motivation was using that weird plant in backyard stuff, I even managed to use the kids pink circle wallpaper too lul). But it looks like movie hangout could make it so much fun. I'd love to see your take on something like that. (Ofc there's only 4 people who made funky flamingo lots. Never even thought to try "Funmingo", or "flirty flamingo". But there's not nearly enough takes on "funky" as is.
Hey Kayla! The magenta, yellow and turquoise colour combination actually works really well! You ended up building a very playful little house and it may not be a traditional interior colour scheme, but I think it looks awesome :) I really enjoy when you branch out like this because you do have an eye for colour, you just need to let it do its thing more often! Source: I study fashion design, i need to be able to recognise good colour combinations for school all the time 😅 Also these three colours almost form a triangle on a colour wheel which means even the colour theory says it’s good lol

im only at the intro rn but igy queen, i recently started a twitter acc jus to post my builds and be more integrated in the community n all, and ive posted a build, but it made me so aware of how many packs i use compared to other ppl who post builds and keep other simmers in mind 😭 ik it doesnt matter in my case bc nobody even sees em but it does feel embarrassing lol, but that said, i love seein you build w more freedom to use whatever you want, like in ur builds for ur legacy and not so berry challenges! they are soso fun to watch come together and i hope you can allow yourself to do more in the future

9:37 I actually love the color of the walls here, with the rug and all the colorful furniture. Bright, but neutral compared to the accent colors you were using from the rug. And the sunny orange really makes the detail on those green doors pop! It makes me want to try my luck now building a room, even if I don't have any of the packs, with that wall color 😊
I LOVE movie hangout’s furniture. I use it a lot for artsy sims because I think a lot of it looks like it’s been painted on. I like using it for apartments too with the plain swatches and adding some fun ones into certain units for added personality

i love your colorful builds! i agree that it can be fun to get out of your comfort zone, even if you're not fully proud of the result yet! also, you're absolutely right that so many pet owners can relate to your experience. i literally have a whole master's degree in Animal Behaviour and Welfare, and i STILL worry about the decisions i make for my pets, even when i know i'm doing the right thing! and it's just so, so hard to watch them suffer, even when you know it's because you're doing the best thing for them. it's never easy to see our wee besties go through hard times. sending love to you and Snappy kitty

I LOVE the super busy and bright Movie Hangout furniture. 😂😂😂 I love a mismatched-chairs-from-3-different-yard-sales look and considered buying a plain dining set from ikea irl and painting all the chairs differently. 😂 Movie Hangout, decor to the max, and city living are the packs I would use if I could use the sims to decorate my actual home. For Rent has some good stuff too.
Stop that's literally my favorite build of yours! It's so cozy and adorable and I might just be biased because Tartosa in general is my favorite world but I would totally want to live there. Please do more of this challange, this was so fun!
Snap matches as a little sunflower 🌻 I had a good idea with these 3 packs for a build (keep in mind, I don't know what wedding stories and movie Hangout have) a eco living wedding venue with a large movie projector to broadcast it to a large crowd, like a large family or if the sims were rich and wanted to rub it in lol.

I really enjoy building videos, not only to see really cool builds that do something really fun and artful, but also to see what a person can accomplish under specfic constraints. I really like to watch simsie do build challenges to see what can be made, it's not always about if they're objectively "pretty" builds. ig im just trying to say, Kayla, I love your builds
the speed builds i find so hard to keep interested in. seeing you go through the process and explaining what you are thinking in the moment is my favourite thing

I'm glad Snap is doing well so far! I know how hard that recovery period can be on us as pet owners too, my 7 year old cat Peggy Sue also had a tumor pop up on her back left hip late last year. Hers was a bit bigger so she actually had to have her leg amputated to make sure they got all of it, but it's been about four months since the surgery and she's completely recovered and adapted to life on three legs. Cats are so resilient and I wish the best for Snap in her continued recovery
I love ❤️ this build! I’m someone who loves big bold colors and vibrant prints. So movie hangout and design to the max are some of my favorites. A lot of sim KZheadrs don’t seem to like them but I do. And this build so so colorful. The most rainbow 🌈 I’ve ever seen you do and I absolutely love it 😍. I totally see this family as a bohemian artist mom raising her two kids. Their father is with Doctors Without Borders so he’s helping people far away. But it’s ok. And this is so beautiful. You nailed boho. Love it

i went through something very similar with my cat squeaker a few years ago! stay strong kayla and snap 💞 sounds like she’s doing better now. snap knows deep down that you are doing everything to help her.
I think nifty knitting could go well with movie hangout because like a grannie has like a wildly colourful home and knits rugs and brightly colourful and patterned rugs that sort of go with the movie hangout patterns

When I played the sims I’d download your builds that had a load of packs and then replace what I needed with base game items. At the end of the day you are a content creator and watching you build a house with all the packs is fun to watch (so are the limited house builds but I’m sure you get what I’m saying). I’m trying to say that you don’t need to worry about others and whether or not someone has the packs for the build or not. Use as many packs as you want or as little as you want
I personally LOVE movie hangout, although I know it's bad. I love having my sims all watch movies together and making home theaters in my fancy houses, I love the maximalist/eclectic style (not all the time but enough of the time) and I also frequently use a select few cas items. I just think it's so fun, the style, the chaos, I honestly use it all the time. Also, you and Snap have been in my prayers. Thank you for all the updates, I've been watching you for years, and my husband and I have been worried about you guys ❤
I think this was really well done. The lot you chose for it definitely helps tie in Movie hangout and Wedding Stories together. All of the bright colors fit the vacation rental vibes IMO. I see this type of décor in real life all the time with beach condo's or houses. It is a lot to look at in a residential home but for a vacation rental its not so bad.

I love watching Kayla do houses like this, because I am terrified of using patterns lmao. I love to do multicolour builds but I end up using a lot of solids, and overusing white to balance it out. Builds like this one give me solid inspo & are v fun to watch :)

I don't like the super chaotic colors and patterns from Movie Hangout either, but the side table and loveseat have nice neutral wood swatches that I adore. I use them in my boho-y or traditional builds. Sending much love to you and Snap ❤

LOVE LOVE LOVE how much color experimentation you did in this build! As an artist seeing ppl matching more difficult color schemes like this is 👌🏻 beautiful. Funny enough, there have actually been studies about how much color has been disappearing from home decor over the years, and it’s blander than it’s ever been. ‘Modern’ is associated with white, black and beige, people gravitate bc it’s simple to match and that’s fair, but still it kills my soul. We need more color in our lives all over 😭 That said I think the movie hangout stuff is incredibly bombastic pattern wise 😂 patterns are fabulous but the items look extremely unrealistic to me. Which obv sims is not hyper realistic, but I mean it doesn’t even match the style of the game either imo. It looks like posters on the floor instead of rugs. I think they’re getting better at it. The decor to the max stuff is really fun! I love the doors in movie hangout too tho, wish more of the pack were like the doors 😂
i agree with the move towards simplicity in colour. I'm training to be an architect and i don't think I'll ever get the love of colour or complex shapes beaten out of me... or at least i hope I won't xD

Movie Hangout has my favorite hanging lights- I used to love Cottage Living the most until I got Paranormal and Movie Hangout- it is so crazy with the colors and patterns but I love them all- especially the Paranormal wallpaper

I love how much Kayla has changed in the last year. I started watching her a little over a year ago and I soon realized her voice is calming. She’s taught me to build good sims houses and ive put some of my houses on the gallery. I have mostly sims on there but I wanna start getting Into building more houses for the gallery. I don’t have many packs because I can’t afford them. The few I do have while good packs don’t work the best together. I make it work but werewolves and cottages are an interesting combo plus dogs and ghosts. Kayla was a big influence on the packs I got though I did accidentally get dream home decorator but I’m not complaining. All of this to say thank you Kayla for all of the videos you make and the influence you’ve had on the sims community. Also I hope snap gets better wishing her the best.

aw, I love movie hangout though! one of my first packs, I really wanted more colourful and cozy boho decor, because that's what I grew up with and kinda auto-gravitate towards. I also think the pack actually has quite a few really nice pastel swatches and I've always been obsessed with the lights- the hanging crystal lamps have such magical vibes and I adore the lil candle one (even though it barely auto-slots to anything). For such a small pack it has a lot of good smaller items, the lil plant and book clutter item is so nice and so is the wall hanging- i used to always put it behind bars and above fireplaces. It is tough to build with on its own or without complimenting packs like paranormal or even cottage living (
