How Much do C3 Corvettes Sell For at Auction?

How much do C3 Corvettes cost?
In this video, you have the LARGEST selection of 1968 through 1982 C3 Corvettes FOR SALE in ONE place!
SIXTY-SIX of them to help you determine marketplace values of these cars, whether you're a buyer or a seller.
I spent three days filming all of them, and I missed at least two C3s that were sold on day one. So I captured C3s of every year, EXCEPT for those two 1977 Corvettes.
But I think the great selection of C3 Corvettes there-ranging from average to amazing-makes up for the two missing C3s.
The purpose of this video is to share with you the current values of our favorite cars. This should give you a good general idea or baseline of what to expect to get or pay when you're on the market.
But keep in mind that prices of vehicles sold at auction can have huge swings, which means some sell for pennies on the dollar while others sell for what seems ridiculously high prices.
Having said that, it is my personal opinion that ALL C3 Corvettes are bringing respectable sale prices as long as the vehicle is in good condition and/or has very low mileage.
Convertibles tend to command the highest prices, followed closely by C3 Corvettes with factory 4-speed manual transmissions.
And for the record, I have yet to see an early C3 with a 3-speed manual. I know they exist, but haven't run into one.

  • The C3 was the most magical futuristic car that a 8-year-old ever saw in 1968. The C2 is marvelous (I have 3) but the C3 is a magic carpet ride look to it that you cannot unsee as a child loving cars. They make my knees weak to this day. they just had such poor body quality control. You have to get one that has everything lifted back up and tied back down correctly. I have owned only 2 because they just were so cheaply made. But a new restored one is the highth of joy

  • You need to refresh your mind but the 78 anniversary year 25th you said was a pace car is not a pacer car but what was called a limited edition to be called a pace car in 1978. ITT had the words in 6 inch high letter across the doors that said pace car. In 1978 there were 4 version of corvettes. 1 was a 1978 Anniversary year in any colors. Like blue with blue inside or what ever colors you wanted , then you had what was called a 25 th anniversary which was for example if it was red it had red very thing known as a Red anniversary : knobs: steering wheels consumes , seats and everything was all same color as as outside nit mix match but entire car was called a Red Anniversary vette, then they had the silver limited edition 25th anniversary with split colors sides two tone colors just like one you just showed but said Limited edition on front fenders : then you had the Silver split color called called Pace car but to be called pace cars had big letters across door saying Pace car , I owned all 4 versions. And it was only year that was 4 versions of Corvettes and you could as option on the Anniversary vetoes in 1978 get a one piece Lexon smoke top instead of the T Tops but one piece all the way where other Corvettes had two tops . All removable just like T tops ,. My family was a GM Dealer from 1947 up to a few years ago 2017. . So I grew up having everything from Chevrolet, Pontiac , Oldsmobile, Buick, Cadillac, Studebakers ( owning the very first Studebaker Avanti rolling off our show room , my Grandfather even had Kaiser’s,: Frazier, Packard ! And even Ford Dealer too and GMC truck. . I still have my 25 Red Anniversary with Lexon top and one 1957 TBird with port hole roof with 200 Miles’s and one Chrysler convertible 300F I am now 80 years old and still have 69 Chevelles, and 68 Camaro and just hard to try to keep up all cars which I have willed all my cars to my son …car collecting is fun but gets to be a lot of work to keep all perfect . I sold only one 1969 Malibu Convertible with 100 miles for $152,000. Last year to man in Nashville it was perfect new but a friend wanted it very bad

  • They are beautiful cars I have a C3 1977. I’ve had it for 44 years beautiful car but they’re too small. They’re too small inside not very comfortable and they make a lot of noise. Mine ain’t that bad but I’ve been in some that are really bad. I’m much rather one of the new ones 2011 up. The C3 are good for collector cars but to be driving them around they’re very uncomfortable

    • I think the 78-82 C3s were a little more spacious than 68-77s. The T&T steering column was also two inches shorter starting with the 77 model I believe. Steering wheels were also 1 or 2 inches smaller. I fit very comfortably in my 76, but I’m only 5’9”. I drove my 81 a few days ago and had to move the seat up a bit to fit “right.” You may want to ask C3 owners to sit in one and see how it feels. I think you’ll be fine. 😊👍🏻

    • At 6’5” I am comfortable driving my 69 convertible. Getting in and out takes a little effort. The 68 door panels take up a little more shoulder room than the other C3s. I

    • the biggest issue here kevin is not fitting in behind the steering wheel. the biggest concern you will probably have is getting in and not banging your head against the very low t-tops!!!! i am 6 ft and have a 79 and have to maneuver just right to avoid wacking my head on the t-tops..getting in and out of the vette with the tops off is a breeze. good luck!
