Every man has unique personality traits that make him who he is and define his actions. Despite seemingly random acts and ways of going about life being the norm for all men, there are ways to categorize a man’s actions into more specific traits and tendencies.
There are mainly six unique male personalities.
▸The Alpha male
▸The Beta Male
▸The Gamma Male
▸The Omega Male
▸The Delta Male
▸The Sigma Male
These classifications help us understand how and why a man lives his life the way he does. Let’s see what each of these six unique personalities offers by observing their four most prevalent traits.

    • theres some truth there, but things can be classified by their dominant traits, we do it all the time. everybody might own some pots and pans, occasionally speed while they are driving, and maybe go to the casino, but most people wouldnt walk around calling themselves a racecar driving, chef gambler. you are what you do, and for the majority of us, theres a certain category or two of traits we tend to favor more heavily than the others. while agree with you that its important to not limit yourself by these constructs of thought and try to force yourself _into_ a box, i think its important to understand oneself in a effort to actually develop and branch out past the limitations of the person you already are, especially this modern day society that is constantly trying to redefine what it means to even be a man to begin with, and what the “right” type of man is.

    • I thinks it's interesting that in several of these videos that were produced by the same group...the stock footage showing the different types at work, with others, etc...are re-used in each video. They shuffled them up, though. Not exactly a "Continuity Error" as much as an indication of how we make visual cues fit with our expections. In other words, when shown an image of an "Alpha"...we think, "Yeah, he looks like an Alpha, Beta, whatever. Then we watch the next video...and...now they show the same footage, but representing a different type.

What looks like an alpha/ beta/ etc. You can’t really look at a person and understand what makes them tick. So the reuse of stock footage on the same personality type shouldn’t matter. That’s only what you are looking at, it doesn’t mean that those people in the video are those exact personality types, nor does it mean they’re not. The video isn’t really what’s important at all, it’s the message

  • i've noticed i have traits of most of these personalities: 1. (Alpha) I enjoy leading and participating in subjects i am comfortable with and enjoy learning from others to lead in a more efficient manner 2. (Beta) I prefer to get along with people when i need to or when necessary 3. (Gamma) I have learned many skills from living in the country (how to hook up a trailer, four rules of gun safety, among others i will not mention) 4. (Omega) I ask my parents for advise when needed, but tend to act based on morals and lessons I've learned throughout my life and treat others how i want to be treated (The Golden Rule) 5. (Delta) I have been hurt by people who I have trusted. Therefore, it usually takes many weeks, months, or year(s) for me to trust a new person. If someone wants me trust or respect them more, they need to earn it. These things are earned, not given. 6. (Sigma) I have no patience for sugarcoating. I cannot stand being around people who talk badly about themselves or others, including myself. I drive a hard bargain, whether it be trading pokemon or a price for an antique without a set label. As much as I like being around people, I prefer alone time on a sunny or rainy day, listening to music (Specifically classic and hard rock (60s,70s,and 80s)) and smoking a cigar. I am not sure what all this means. However, I intend to learn more about myself in the coming years.

  • I've never seen myself as a specific type of personality, because I have been through almost all of them throughout the years. As I kid, I grew up as an Omega. In high school I grew up amongst my best friends and turned into an Alpha. In my early 20s, my confidence received several blows and I turned in many cases into a Beta. I had a nervous breakdown at 23 and throughout the next four years I was a stereotypical Delta. Over the years my confidence grew back, but the experience allowed me to become a bit more balanced in some cases. When times are hard, I am able to shut down my emotions completely, because they would get in the way of my logical thinking, which is normal for a Sigma. Ultimately, the closest type I may be is a Gamma male, and I am not 100% sure of that.

Their kindness comes from their curiosity about others. In their professional setting they love to be the right arm so to speak. Not because they cannot be leaders it’s just because they are really good at facilitating the needs of a leader. They are very effective it when they do. Gamma had some traits that are familiar but Omega is what I seem to be. Definitely not Delta but I can see how that path is easily taken. Had I not been BLESSED with good people coming and going in my life I’m sure that path could have taken hold of me growing up. Sigma also sounds a lot like me except I don’t manipulate at that level. I think it’s easy to manipulate others so maybe I am a Sigma and manipulating myself into thinking I’m not. lol. • @@soresl It's literally called the dominance hierarchy, also called social hierarchy or sexual hierarchy. The very meaning of the word hierarchy implies that someone is on top of someone else and therefore dominates. This theory falls under sociology. Personality types on the other hand are archetypes to describe a persons behavior and reasoning, they fall under typology which is a branch of psychology. As for me I'm what can be described as a gamma male, so I'm not a cool or super attractive person and I don't get much pussy... But I don't care honestly, I rarely meet with people irl and I prefer working out, writing and listening to music.

I got no issues being a leader every once in a while, but what really makes me excel is being sort of an independant outside consultant, one with a look at the whole picture. Exept when somebody really crosses the line of personal respect and dignity. Then a part of me transitions into some of those sigma traits, being a manipulative and ruthless plotter. Ironically, those gamma traits help a lot doing so, for gaining people's trust and since you're well educated on so many fields you can easily see and use oppurtunities to ruin that unlikable person's reputation. Like getting one of the three co-owners of a tax consultancy I worked in to break the companie's code of conduct multiple times, resulting in him leaving it by force, after paying me a very decent compensation. Or keeping the relationship with my cheating ex-wife going, just to manipulate her into screwing up all her social and labour relationships, making her extremely dependant on me and ditching her right at the peak of that miserable state of life. Not like revenge satisfies me, but if vengeance meets justice and punishment thats a win-win in my book.

It's a controlled balance between submissive and obstinacy. Like open-minded and stubbornness. If you are stubborn in every aspect of life, you won't gain anything. If you are submissive in every aspect you'll be a doormat but also lose control in eating habits, no control in anything. So when you realize that and want to go Sigma mode on every aspect of your life, meaning control all aspects of life, then you'll know and feel it in your skin that you are truly winning.

They're just words. It's attempting to simplify something that's not only complex, but also rooted in human status/social structures which isn't exactly that simple either. One example, say the characteristic of being loud and obnoxious is labeled as an "alpha" trait cause it shows "you're comfortable in your environment, dominating your area" or some horse shit like that...despite the fact there are a bunch of quiet guys, or at least normal people who have some class* (see what I mean? social, regarding the word *class) who would lay out the loud mouth in seconds...I've seen it happen. Therr has been an obsession of these words in the last 10 years, and a bunch of insecure dudes trying too hard be "alpha", or play the role they've been "assigned,"

    • I've always considered Astrology to be a bit more projectionist than scientific. We look at our assigned astrological sign and choose the traits we most identify with. I'm a Libra and their are certain Libran traits that do describe me but not all Libran traits fit me. I think horoscopes are complete claptrap and use self-fulfilling prophecy to hoodwink their believers. Using this scale I'm mostly an Omega with a bit of Beta in me. At least this system chooses which category you are based on your actual personality traits instead of what month you were born. I imagine most men fit more than one type but rarely more than two or three. When someone tries to behave as a different type than they are, they will likely be far more uncomfortable and less successful because it goes against their nature. This isn't to say that someone can't behave out of type in specific circumstances, but throughout their life they will generally stick to the "roles" they are most comfortable with.

If someone uses alpha, omega, beta...etc.. in the sense that is spiritual/occult..etc, then ok, but the thing is most of the people who use these terms would likely call astrology bullshit, as if their terms are 100% concrete science, which is why I find it ridiculous people are so quick to blindly use these terms as fact while bashing something like astrology to be bullshit. I'm not saying I exactly believe in astrology, but at least astrology is never masquerading to be in the scientific scope of things. It openly stays well within the scope of spiritual/occult/mystic/supernatural/metaphysical.

    • @@mikem9958 Psychology is a science. It is an inexact science but it is still a science. Many people with doctorate degrees have spent decades studying human behavior to learn about what makes people do what they do and why they do it. Personality types do not predict how a person will behave because people will sometimes go outside their type in a specific situation. For example, a Beta may step up and take charge like an Alpha when that particular Beta recognizes that the situation requires them to do so. These types, instead, identify a person's overall nature. People are generally happier and more comfortable when behaving in ways that fit their type. This particular video didn't do the best job explaining personality types or even defining the parameters of those types. In psychology, there is no "one size fits all" because everyone is a unique person. However, people are often more alike and predictable than they think.

Sounds really great, and so does the horoscope, it seems to represent universal human traits its just that it brings a perspective of classification and categorisation of values systems and personality traits. Whose the author of this theory btw?

    • I appreciate what you're saying because people cannot be generalized, each person is unique and has unique experiences. And every person lives and feels experiences differently from others and because of this it cannot be generalized. Pattern making creates problems in society, if every person lived without being put into a pattern then we would have a healthier world.

  • This is cut very neatly & precisely & Explains theses ideas in a very text-book like way - & but in a way that dosen't FIT the real world so well. I understand what this video is trying to do, & Explain, but there are so many variables to just "Which one are YOU?". 1st - it can change throughout Your life, You can have different "Signs" and amounts of Each from one to another change from so many reasons. Different Kinds of losses that happen - Different kinds of feeling as You grow older - Millions of variables that can mess with This System that is not mentioned - & a min of dead air at the END!? IDK - I GET it - but to ask "Which are You?" Based on These "Traits" - I say IDK because none of them really define me into ANY of those groups enough to say that I am "THAT KIND!!". Oh Well - just happened to have a few mins & This came up - so I checked it out. It's Not BAD, it was interesting for What it Was. Peace to ALL!!

  • Like many others have already commented, i also think that as men we possess many of these different traits throughout our lives, as we go through different life changes and experiences, and as we learn and grow as people. It all depends on where we are at in our lives at the time, because I have related to several of these of the course of my life, but i do seem to relate the most to sigma more often than not. Of course, we are all more than just a label, but it is interesting to think about.

  • I’m a sigma male. I once thought I was an Alpha, but I’ve never been interested in being the centre of attention nor getting notoriety. I’ve accomplished far far more in my life than I could have ever dreamed of. Many people admire that side in me, but I don’t take much stock in it and I naturally keep dreaming and doing/accomplishing. My personality type is INFJ and my totem/spirit animal is the bald eagle.

  • This is not as much a classification of personalities as it is a simple guideline. For example if you sense one certain trait from a person you just met then you can make certain assumptions based on this guideline as to what other traits the person might have thus adjust your expectations of him accordingly, while also looking out for quirks that may be additional to those traits. It is also interesting that those who carry a certain trait in one of the group will most likely have the other traits within that same group as their dominant characteristic, not to say they completely lack the others, just to a lesser extent. With this mentioned I also evaluated myself to be under the gamma male based on the guidelines discussed in this video. Although, I still agree that I possess certain traits in the other groups to a smaller less dominant extent. Would love to know how others have assessed themselves too.

  • I want to note that not everyone is going to be just one thing, thus not fit into the definitions and boxes that psychology tries to put them into. Everyone is a unique individual, meaning there's always going to be people out there that defy these kinds of things. I speak as one of those people. I'd say it sounds very clearly to me, like I could claim to a lot of traits listed of most of these types. But I match none of them completely. It makes it feel like Astrology and Horoscopes - presenting general, vague notions and traits that can apply to literally anybody, yet are said to be specific. I do find all this stuff interesting despite my reservations to believe it's real. I've often wondered through the years what the hell people are talking about with this kind of thing, and how it even came about. It triggers the investigator and analyst in me. Ultimately, I believe nothing in life is ever this simple, however. Our brains programmed for ease and convenience would LOVE for things to be this simple, but, that's just not how life and thus reality, works.

  • Many different factors impact our personalities. Physical condition and appearance are significant but life experiences also play major roles in any personality type not just the delta. These categorizations are common but many people don't fit entirely into one or another. Each have strengths and weaknesses. Even though the delta seems to have very little strength in comparison to others, they can still be useful and good. People with any personality type can adjust to better coexist with other personality types.

  • When you are tasked with observing people in groups, it is important to identify key players like 'alphas' to properly evaluate a situation for security reasons. It is a part of a system or philosophy the Marines called 'Left of Bang'. Not a Marine (something less visible!) but had to scan for threats in groups of people in different situations. Using body language and social cues to figure out the key people and who is 'carrying', etc., is essential to evaluating threat levels. There is certainly a lot more to it, as you might imagine, but it IS possible to predict to a degree the dynamics and risks present among a group of people within reasonable margins and it is more science than intuition. After a while, you can almost imagine exactly how mayhem will play out before it actually happens. 'Left of Bang' just refers to having the awareness to be ready and (ideally) not be there when the SHTF! PS. I'm closest to sigma but I'll project whatever is necessary to be the human version of the colour gray-a hangover from messier times. It isn't a terribly fun way to live, though it is...safe. ;)

It’s actually the advice I give new hires at my workplace, which is large and has this extremely unique social hierarchy. Just blend in for a while and keep your mouth shut until you think understand the lay of the land. And then do the same thing for another six months. See much and say little, while you figure out the interpersonal dynamics going on among hundreds of people with 25, 30+ years of history in the place
