True, just the best sight in a year!
What's so wonderful about this footage, is that I'm NOT seeing the end of the world as we know it, but we're seeing a group of VERY talented musicians having the a great time and great fun practicing their craft! The Beatles may have been moving toward the break up of the band, but NOT the break up of their music!

When I see the Beatles in such a good mood I can’t believe it was written so bitter in the relationship between them. They are forever in my heart.
Well, I'd say they were all aware that this project--which became the Abby Road and Let It Be albums--would be their big swan song. So they were motivated to work together to go out with a bang.

@@yankee69ify- that's a very narrow viewpoint, especially when mainstream music doesn't have a lot of substance. The Beatles, talent aside, were at the right place at the right time. Just like the Stones, The Who, Zep ... all the big British bands from that period of time had talent like you wouldn't believe, but circumstances also helped them cement their music and personalities in history. Whether those indie bands are better or not doesn't matter, but playing the half time show is outdated criteria for being successful or having something artistically important to say.

According to the people who have written books on the band and the 4 guys themselves , these were miserable sessions but judging from these scenes , their general demeanour and body language suggests they are having a great time
Ringo himself has stated that alot of the negativity was overblown by writers. They, for the most part, did have good time.
They did break up badly, so there were obviously stressful times, but some good ones too. Not sure whether they are trying to just show their good times together, to remember them in a positive way, or elsewhere in the movie they show the dark side too.
@@HamiltonRb I think George inviting Billy Preston to the "Get Back Let It Be Sessions" made the sessions more productive. When Billy showed up they were on their best behavior.
Possibly mugging for the camera.
I honestly don’t see positive body language at all.
I have only watched EP1, and not a Beatles "fan" so to say. I think all of us who are rock and roll fans either are Beatles fans (at least partly) or certainly appreciate their contributions to the genre. I am one of the appreciators. I am 54 (almost 55) and IMO their music has always been part of life if you are at least as old or older than that. EP1 has had a profound impact me, so much so that I went out to the Apple Music Store and got all studio albums from the band and then promptly created a 75 song playlist of all songs that I either like or at some point have heard before... 75 - songs... that's the impact this band has had on music. Remember, I do not consider myself a fan and owned zero Beatles CDs prior. I did appreciate them more as solo artists than the Beatles as a whole and have a few songs by John, Paul and George in my music library prior to this, but not as a group. The series is extremely interesting. Getting this behind the scenes, intimate look at IMO the most influential band of all time's creative processes is, by itself, a reason to watch. To then see how they interact, care about and help each other is also quite wonderful. Its as if you're there, inside the makeshift studio watching the greatest R&R band of all time work their magic after having been thru Beatlemania and the transition of the summer of love (mid 60's) movement into what they became just before the breakup. It's also interesting to see John and Paul's obvious connections to each other and their craft and to see John in general at work and play within this context. Other than produced or selected news bits, how he was on a day to day basis, I had no clue. Immensely talented as are all four of them. And of course their sense of humor reigns supreme all the time. I recommend this to anyone who even has a slight interest in this band. It's very entertaining and insightful to how 4 of the most creative musical artists of all time got on with one another and crafted some of the most timeless music ever. Just watch it! Thanks Peter Jackson!
Watched the rest of the doc. and it was fantastic. The rooftop concert was incredible. Maybe the first coffee break concert ever??? Sad that it was their last public performance of all time but their power, talent and magic as a group shine thru as always. Its a great doc series and best thing I have seen on TV in awhile.
This short sequence shows that the "Get Back/Let it be" sessions weren't all doom and gloom and in fighting that the media have tried to portray since 1970. Just seeing John and Paul dancing together and the facial expressions when they looked at each other you just know they would always love each other
The power of editing!
Brothers grow apart and become different people, but will always be brothers.
@@axelmcleod8427 yes it is the power of editing. by all accounts of the 4 beatles, they were miserable sessions for the most part. with some bits of fun and genius thrown in. this is edited in a "favorable" light since no one was ever going to agree to release the remastered Let it Be film, so the compromise was to fake it and edit it into something happy and joyful. as a huge fan, i will buy this for sure. but it is a little bit revisionist and catering to a "don't want to upset anyone" culture.

I never got into beatles Music, because i couldn't believe there is something worth listen in 60 years old band. I got wibes seen them alive and full of Life and energy. Thanks to this 5 min. clip i agree with Howard Stern that the Beatles are untouchable number 1 rock band of all time
Yeah, the quality of this recording is incredible.
First off that's the most clearest 50 year old footage ever. It looks as if they are here now.
well stored film ;)
Agreed. They should turn over all the Beatles footage from years past and have Peter Jackson and his team remaster/restore them. The BluRay that came out a few years back (the one with all their music videos; Strawberry Fields, Penny Lane, etc.) is utter shit and grainy as f*ck. Sure it was better than what we had before (which would have been in SD) but after seeing what a proper restoration looks like, I'm all for letting Mr. Jackson have a crack at it. And that would include Help! and MMT.
Peter Jacksons magical at that, Should see the world war 1 footage he remastered, even more technically impressive.
I've not read much into this film, trusting what Jackson did with "They Shall Not Grow Old" but if we get the entire rooftop concert with the clarity shown here. I may literally cry.
@ElyC West Yeah...I know film grain is a visual style (hell, a lot of directors today still prefer it) but, as is common in life, it all comes down to a matter of individual taste. I prefer the smudgy/smeary (as you call it) look to the grainy, dated, look we got with 1+. If you have a look at a lot of the comments in this thread (not just this one) many have commented how Peter Jackson's footage looks as though it was shot today. The 1+ footage looks like it was shot in the 60s, so...yeah...I guess that's all I have to say about that.
Nobody is or will be able to create magic like these four lads.
I remember back to the first time I saw the video for "Real Love". It was as if the scent of Heaven filled the room and time stopped for those brief few minutes. My mind could not completely assimilate what I had just witnessed. The passage of time has not dulled that sensation and, each time I hear the music it is the sweetest of all forms of deja vu.
As a 67 year old fan, it’s hard for me to “imagine” being so excited in anticipation for something coming out that was 50+ years old when I was 17. That’s WW1 era!!! They are forever!!!
Yeah this will help you "Get Back" to the 60s
Do you know when WW1 was...?
@@3jdoris I don’t think you understand what he was saying. When he was 17 he couldn’t imagine being excited for something that was 50 years previous. If you do the maths, 63 from 2020 is 1953, minus 33 years is 1920 which is world war 1 era
@@psychedelicgoat3464 I think you're correct
I’m right there with you. I’m also 67 and feel the exact same way. What an incredible fresh look at The Beatles. ❤️❤️❤️ Something good from this terrible year.
I definitely agree that they should have just made a 56 hour movie released in parts. We would all watch it. It's not like we don't have the time, especially in COVID times. No other band has come close or ever will so might as well let us immerse ourselves, completely.
then you would see the fights they had that broke them up. lets see if they include any of that in this film lol
@@yourewack7043 of course they’ll include it, but some of it goes to show it wasn’t nothing but bad times in the studio
Something to spend $600 on 😄jk
I you haven't already, watch "The Beatles antology". It's around 10 hours and it's by far the best Beatles documentary to date.
@@yourewack7043 this get back session only take 20 days to filming. The fight never that bad moreover broken them. Most people who said there are a lot of fighting never see the movie themselves
The feeling of gratitude is immense. Thank you Peter Jackson for taking the time to go through all that footage. You're a damn fine curator!
You know what really lifts this song? Just listen to that badass keyboard solo. Dam it's funky!
John and george wanted Billy to join the band Paul did not
Who would’ve thought that 51 years after the Beatles broke up, it would be an incredible time to be a fan of them
It's never too late to be a Beatles fan. Their music is timeless.
Finally, something GOOD to come out of 2020 :)
They've been good for 60 years.
Best persian song👇🙏 kzhead.info/sun/g8atcdKrgoiEank/bejne.html
This and a new AC/DC record....thats about it.
@@larrydrozd2740 don’t forget about Paul’s new record to
Your channel is awesome
they have made so much JOY, and HAPPINESS over the yrs... SMILES
Just finished watching this. Overwhelming nostalgia, which is heart-warming , and heart-breaking at the same time. It seems like this was just yesterday. So quickly has time passed. Yes, it was a documentary about the Beatles, but somehow about myself as well. At least in my own head. I miss John and George. Wish they were here to see this masterpiece. Joy and tears.
These six minutes were already better than the original doc.
Yes
No
It was a cash grab by Allen Klein.
Agreed, a totally different take.
Yes, it even makes you feel like everything was actually fine among them... but it hurts a little to know it wasn't though.
They seem just like a bunch of kids having fun. These vibes tho.
Exactly!!! I’m living for it
Literally speaking those were the times of there lives also good to see Billy Preston having fun
They weren't even in their thirties yet at this point!
Yep, watching this trailer definately made me smile . I cannot wait to see the full movie/ documentary. Thank you to Peter Jackson and crew for making this happen. Something to look forward to after the Covid misery we all had to endure. Peace and Love to all .
Thank you so much Peter. The whole documentary is just amazing. So many myths dispelled. Very moving to see the humanity, the humour, the immense talent and hard work...and the love. Huge thanks to the boys for giving the world so much joy.
John: George is accused of assaulting a reporter and will be in court today Everyone:🥁🎤🎸🎼🎼
Wait fr😂😂
The Quiet Beatle
They make me proud of my Liverpool home. There will never be another beatles and that's for sure.
@@gordon7462 as well you should be proud, of the Greatest Band the world has ever know!! Will last the test of time.
That must have been during their brief rap phase.
The incredible Billy Preston on keyboards for Get Back.
He certainly was incredible. He made great recording even greater.
Every Beatles fan knows that brother
Billy Preston was actually the 5th Beatle!! Like it or not! He contributed Greatness in the song Get Back.
@@DROly1 I'll gladly call him the fifth Beatle. He looks so happy playing, he has that enthusiasm that the Beatles themselves had years before.
Yea, great to see him actually play the solo!
So many comments about crying and tearing up over this. I totally feel that too. So many great bands from the past, but The Beatles are somehow extraordinary. I cannot explain it.
Like all things in our lives there is joy and sadness. I love how Peter Jackson focused on the joy mainly as we all should.
This looks as joyful as the original documentary was depressing.
That was my first thought also. When watching this you think they all had a great time recording "Get Back". But from the original movie and what was told since it happend, it was a depressing time for all involved.
@@Klaus80804 Why was that?
The original documentary barely featured John and that made a world of difference. He could be a ray of sunshine when he was in the right mood. In this footage you can see how he lights up the room and how everyone was immediately drawn to him.
@@Darbuinsito Simply compare the movie with this. Its so different.
@@Klaus80804 This doesnt seem like a documentary though. More of a music video with snippets of happiness that doesnt tell the whole story of what was going on at the time. Its harmless nostalgia but not a documentary or a "document" of the actual history of what was happening at the time.
Remember, John and Ringo are 28 here.Paul is 26 and George is about a month away from turning 26.Point being that they were still pretty young. Watching them goof around really isn't so strange, when you consider they are all still fairly youthful. The next couple of years kind of zapped away that youthful joy,but they all gave us some deep songs through that time.
I know. Think about how much they did when they were all in their early twenties. Astonishing.
It's absolutely insane what they accomplished. INSANE. they are a freak accident.
Yes, it's good to see them having a good time larking around before the animosity crept in, or a least surfaced. I like the way they just slip into business/ play mode. Memories of late 60's schooldays always come flooding back when l hear Get Back Let It Be, Lady Madonna etc. Scarey when l think of the time span, but it's brill getting the memory Sharpened up. Looking forward to the film and the potential 50 plus hours subsequent additions/ released !.
I've watched this and it's a work of pure genius. Watching the beatles crafting there art is amazing. The tunes just come out of no where. The genuis of the beatles still fascinates the world. Long live the beatles
All four Beatles had amazing smiles. I’m glad we actually got to see those smiles a LOT in this documentary. These young men are a pedigree group we will never see the likes of ever again! Thank you Peter Jackson for a more complete perspective of their dynamic at this time :)
This is the best middle finger to 2020 I could ever have imagined. THANK YOU Peter Jackson!
In England it's a two fingered salute.. we don't do the one finger ;)
@@ATMFC That's right! Sometimes it takes two fingers to really make the point. ;)
John swinging his coat off as he's carrying a cup of tea and spinning in a circle is a total mood
Delicious but he looked so thin. I’m glad this is not now otherwise I’d be very concerned.
Yeah. I watched that part a few times. As I've noticed in previous videos, he's an excellent dancer. Very controlled in his movements.
Awesome!
@@GreenDragon11 I think he was using heroin around this time. It’s really sad //:
Nah, that was an action. A mood is a feeling.
Thank you Peter Jackson. He's painting a masterpiece with old Beatles footage as his brushes.
I've watched this clip so many times it's ridiculous. I just can't wait for the final movie to come out. Thank you Peter jackson
Since its a Peter Jackson movie, it should be called "The Lord of the Ringos".
thought peter was going to say he was able to get back to new zealand.
The four towers
Maybe he will make a film "The Return of the Kinks."
Hilarious! I nearly did a spit-take when I read that!
😂
R.I.P. Billy Preston June 6, 2006, one of several "Fifth" Beatles.
I had the fortune to be able to see him live at Beatlefest a year before he died. He was loved there.
Thanks, Peter Jackson for such a beautiful reminder of the Beatles together. Such a nice feeling of warmth.
A tear came to my eye watching this. I was 8 years old when Meet the Beatles came out. I played it non-stop. Happy to say I still have that vinyl. I cannot wait for this!!!!
Wish I could say the same, but I always find the quality of Beatles’ recordings jarring (as if poorly pressed), making it hard to listen to and appreciate the tracks.
@@williamlim8866 Probably because it was the '60s. Duh
@@williamlim8866 Stereo was new then, most of the early stuff was recorded in mono and then later remixed into stereo with the vocals on one channel and the instruments on the other. Recording tech has come a looong way since then. Lots of music today-2022-is created by a computer tech who can make anybody sound good. The "artists' are just personalties that are used to sell the junk. How long has it been since you saw an act that didn't have a dozen half naked women twerking in the background to cover for total lack of original talent.
THIS FOOTAGE IS AMAZING I CANT BELIEVE IT HOLY SHIT
Also me: at last I've been crying for the past few days now I'm being cleansed
He also did great work with "They shall not grow old" in restoring WWI era footage and adding historically accurate sound. Luckily he wont have to restore century old footage for this doc, based on his previous work expect the documentary to be stunning both acoustically and visually.
Same!!
I'm losing my shit, dude. I'm freaking out as much as those little girls on Shea Stadium 😂😂
Neither do I, pretty sure they got plenty of stocked rare beatle footages in their studio!!!
"its not a trailer.." and then shows the greatest trailer I've ever seen, lol
exactly!
I know right! I can't imagine the trailer. This film will be epic!
Word. 👌👌👌
They look so young and alive. And present. Like we could almost touch them. Esp great seeing John young, happy, not strident; and all having fun. Such charmers all.
The joy that causes out of these images is overwhelming ! We miss them, thanks God Paul and Ringo are still with us
