What’s Catch me if you can about?
Based on a true story, this classic movie directed by Steven Spielberg, tells the tale of Frank Abagnale Jr. (Leonardo DiCaprio), a young man who successfully managed by the age of 21 to con millions of dollars by pretending to be a Pan American World Airways pilot, a Georgia doctor, and a Louisiana parish prosecutor. Tracked for years by obsessed FBI Agent Carl Hanratty (Tom Hanks), the young mastermind was able to slip through his fingers multiple times, enjoying himself in the process. The con artist's foremost crime was check fraud which he carried out so expertly that by the end of the movie he gets recruited by the FBI to help them with check forgery cases.

  • The best part is that Carl really WAS telling the truth. Abagnale didn't even care that he got caught, the mere fact that someone was actually geniune to him was shocking. He was so used to lies and deceit that he coudldn't grasp the idea of honesty.

Dude became parano, he couldn't settle, he never enjoyed life as soon as the gap with authorities was getting closer, he left everyone and everything behind to start over so many time. However rumor has it that the US government didn’t want Frank just because he made a jerk out of all the banks he robbed but because the wanted Frank to show the US how good he really was. It was just a matter of time before Frank 2.0 would hit the streets. The government wanted to be ready if that happened. If Frank was dead, it would be quite hard.

  • I just finished this film and this movie was suspenseful as well as emotional. From the divorce, the cons, his father’s death and him finding his mom. This movie was extremely heartbreaking and gut wrenching, I literally cried when he found out his father died and his mother started a new family. He was just a kid who wanted his family back and running from his problems (mentally and physically, literally) was an escape from that. I’m sure when he saw Carl enter the factory, he wanted Carl to help bring his family back to him. 🥲🥲 I could sympathize with Frank through his whole journey and why he did it. (This movie is my new favorite, hands down)

    • He was posing as an acting surgeon, pilot, and whatnot. He was dangerous and irresponsible beyond recognition, and it took a great detective like Carl with a competent team and hard work behind it to put him down. It took them way too long. If you are earning your money by having others really rely on you, you would feel what i mean.
