Hazel the pregnant Dachshund was very timid when she first arrived at her foster mom's house, but after lots of patience and love, she came out of her shell! She delivered 7 adorable puppies, and now that they're all grown up, she loves to sprint around the yard and play with them.

Pls get yr dogs & cats spayed or neutered
Back in November I adopted a female mixed breed that had been used as a breeder at a puppy mill. She was rescued by a task force and ended up at the nearby shelter and no one had given her a home after a couple months. I couldn't say no, and four months later she's just about the sweetest dog I've ever seen. She follows me around all day and sleeps right by my side all night. Breaks my heart to imagine how many other great dogs like her aren't given a chance.

So glad that she was saved from the puppy mill , people don’t realize the condition of the dogs they’re not interacted with they’re just a breathing machine and it doesn’t even mean there’s quality they usually not kept clean or loved no playing that’s why she doesn’t know what a toy is . Every time I hear the word "puppy mill" I want to barf. I just HATE the though of people treating dogs this way, it's so horrendous
Yeah and they give people who breed working dogs a bad name puppy mills are terrible real breeders only have their females have two litters before retiring em from breeding permanantly. I've met a breeder who bred service dog candidates and his ladies were well cared for but people are so quick to slap puppy mill/backyard breeder on legitimate breeders who care about their dogs with those labels. It's a shame if puppy mills didn't exist we wouldn't have people getting villified for buying dogs instead of adopting. Like people got to understand breeding keeps breeds alive but only in the hands of responsible breeder who shells out thousands in gene testing vet visits and phenotyping to nake sure puppies won't turn out to be sick. Puppy mills promote only the sale of the dogs not health or temperament and thats what makes backyard breeders and puppy mills different from legitimate breeders who care about their animals

My heart absolutely melted when she started singing the lullaby! Don't know if it's a "real" one or if she was just making it up, but either way, it was adorable! Wish there was an emoji of a heart melting into a puddle, because that's how I felt 😄🥰

I love the fact that none of those puppies will ever have even the slightest idea what their mom went through, they will never know the fear and heartbreak of being kept in a cage while their babies are taken from them over and over. They have such a beautiful future in store for them, it warms my heart!

I have a puppy mill rescue and remember those days and that body language VERY well. Thankfully he’s mostly moved past that fear after years of patience and love. Gaining the trust of a rescue animal is the biggest honor!
It was a rough start but eventually after she got use to being around people she started to come out of her shell and she had some puppies also 💓💞

I got a female black and tan dachshund to replace my little puppy that was stolen by the nabors only to learn that she was the mother of my Cleo. I love her so much. She has had 3 more litters before the factory was shut down, and I have been there with her through them all, I can't imagine my life without her.
There is nothing cuter than a bunch of Dauchsands running--especially the babies!

We have a puppy mill jackhuahua. He p****d under himself when you even looked at him. Now he still has his flashback moments but is as cheeky and spunky as one dog can be. People like Janice are awesome!

We have our Rita who was also rescued after many litters. It takes a while for them to become comfortable and realize they are safe and loved. Thank you for loving Hazel.

The lady is a saint. So much admiration for her. What a beautiful person. I'm a strong 48 year old carpentry supervisor who is used to having to be a little tough but this bought a tear to my eyes. I'm not even slightly embarrassed about that.

People who foster pets amaze me. The ability to love and then let go, over and over, is so impressive. My pets have always been rescued, I could handle letting go once the bond formed.
