Our first lived 17.5 yrs, our 2nd lived 1 yr and 5 days due to an owl attack. She was the best, so smart. We were so depressed so within 5 days we found another to lift our spirits. We'll get her soon. Dachshunds are the best dogs, keep an eye on the jumping though, it can lead to back problems later.
