Did he lose an engine here? What do you guys think happened? 😳
Your my too friend
The choke was on shut the joke off and the problem solved do that again and it's time to find a new hobby
Not sure the issue, but I give the captain a lot of credit. Stayed calm the whole time, didn't make any stupid abrupt maneuvers. Regained control of his vessel and navigated through the inlet without a hitch.
@@poolmotorrepairguyFL ????? Umm no
@@poolmotorrepairguyFL The Captain doesn't have any control of the choke, it's an automatic choke.
Wow, close call. I'm glad he managed to save his boat! If I didn't have kids, I'd live on a boat like that full time! Nice little unit.
Finally an example of when you NEED some whiskey throttle!
Oil coming out of the bilge pump and streaming down.
I had the same boat. Twin big block 454's. Heavy. My opinion is the port engine is overheating - the steam exhaust out of the port engine is a clear indicator. With that engine, the ECM takes over and either shuts the engine off or puts it in limp mode. So given that possibility, he's running on one engine. The turn/loss of control was most likely from being under power (both engines) then the port shutting down (or at least alarms sounding) and his attention had to change.
Obviously the port side engine was not working too wel, but the starboard side engine didn’t seem too good either.
Lost an engine. Thats a twin. No body wants to pay for a twin, but every body wants one.
Haulover looks alot like Boynton
I was just going to say this
It does not look like Haulover at all
It is Boynton Beach
Once the captain is in that 'elevated-throttle-jockey-hunched-over-the-windshield' position, you know it's going to hell in a hand basket.
He was pulling a Jim Rockford, well done
Probably my fav inlet. Thanks!
Capitan changed his shorts after he return to dock.
BOYNTON INLET
Looks like the boat needs a tune-up. And the captain needs draining
Ahh good ol' Boynton inlet. When i was a teen me and my friend took his jon boat through it. He was scared sh*tless! But we made it though. Good times..
6:20 - No Brainer indeed! 😂
Love this channel.
This is how I feel watching WavyBoats 4:24
Lol😂😂😂😂😂
what a dangerous place and with boats flying thru there
If they made that small section a 6 knot zone it would be so much easier to pass through and much safer!
Don't think that's feasible because many boats need to be on plane to get safely through it
Most people probably think hes dumb but to me (work 70 hours a week on yachts, sailboats, power boats and anything that floats) he lost a engine or both and played the cuuent while getting one or both started. I have lost a motor briefly and just need to give it more to control with steering. I was in a no wake area as this area obviously isnt. But he is a true champ, no way he just missed 2 sea walls , 1 one he spun it and bought time to get the other motor going again.
He lost power- that steam or smoke isn’t normal.
That's a hard vessel to drive on 1 with inboards
Dumb question, but if your boat is wandering isn't it a good idea to drop anchor? I would anyway. Although, captain was in the inlet so that may be why he didn't. Who knows. Also, those Island Runner boats are nice. Cute.
You can’t just drop in anchor and expect it to hold you have to go through a process, called, setting, the anchor or backing down on it. The current in the inlet would have made it dangerous to drop anchor there anyway, he kept it off the wall so it all turned out well.
@@johnbumpus7138 Thanks. Yes, that makes sense.
@@jamesw.6931 🤣😆 For me, I would definitely take extensive boating lessons and safety courses before I would even consider operating a boat. That is for sure.
@@jamesw.6931 👍
the guy at 4:10 killed me lol u absolute lunatic 😂😂
He's a danger to himself, I thought he was gonna fall overboard the way he threw himself back.
yea boat stands for bust out another thousand it’s part of keeping it ship shape. ignore the maintenance schedule this is what happens
Mystery boat #2 had his engines at wildly different trim levels. Interesting strategy
How is this inlet not a no-wake zone? It’s a friggin’ mess.
You’re obviously not a boater , if you try proceeding through that inlet at idle speed, you’re going to get slammed into the seawall in order to safely egress the inlet you should be up on plane at cruising speed where you have the most control of your vessel
@@johnbumpus7138 I get your point. I’ve owned boats and yachts in various sizes of 16 to 48 feet over the last 25 years. I am the founder of the Cruisers Yachts owners club, and own waterfront property with my fleet of boats. I think that qualifies me as a boater. I am not, however, an ocean boater. I boat on inland lakes and rivers. Those inlets look horrible.
👍👍
...it's called the port-quarter!
I'd suggest cloning megalodons before mastodons. Watching a 100 foot shark eating the slackers would be utterly fascinating.😳🦈
I don't think he lost an engine, that smoke was likley just exhaust and it looked to me like he is a new boater. He did do a nasty handbrake turn though
Out/in the sea, there is never a good time for engine failure.
Sailboats for the win!
You know they have no idea whats going on when people are sitting on bow of boat lol
What inlet is this? Title says Haulover? Thanks and good video.
When you have to quickly skin up
At 5:50 that is a sea craft im pretty sure
🛑🛑 The Washing Machine, is on Spin Cycle!! 😂👍💯
Where is this ? It's not Haulover and doesn't look like Boca.
This is Boynton Inlet. A few miles north of Boca Inlet.
@@WavyBoats 33 miles away from Boca Raton Inlet
@johnl5316 no way, if you take A1A it's about 15 miles north. 👍
@@WavyBoats YES, of course. I was thinking minutes
Whoever is recording please get your inlet right, I just sent the coast guard over to haulover inlet and they are still trying to find that boater that lost his engine
That is NOT Haulover.
Idk but if he lost an engine and couldn’t maneuver in this spot he needs to anchor immediately
So I'm curious...is this not supposed to be a no-wake zone?
Why are there so many boats so close together? Besides the rough inlet, they get caught in each other’s wake.
Believe it or not 80 percent of people that own the boats have no idea how to operate them i work in the marina industry i see it everyday
Even with one of two engines out, he still should've had steering control. If an engine went out, it is possible that with his inexperience, he focused too heavily on getting the engine restarted instead of navigating with what he had. This same scenario has happened with pilots in the air too.
A lot if twins only use one engine for the steering assist.
“Low wash” area with speed restrictions? Seems everyone does as they please.
i believe the kids call that drifting. or a takeover
This look more like the Boynton Inlet, but NOT HAULOVER INLET
That’s Boynton, not Miami
Bad luck. Salt water corrodes
First! 🚤
Confirmed! 🏆
I'm not sure here there was a failure, I think it's just a terrible driver. The driver looks like he has no idea what he's doing.
Old junk boat past its years.
All of us aren’t as privileged as you some of us just work with what we have by the way even a brand new midnight express can have problems while underway like the one down at Haulover that lost hydraulic pressure in its steering and went into the rocks
@@johnbumpus7138 had a list to starboard.overheating engine.some preppys neglected boat.probabaly corrosion in the peice of craps gasser water jacket.derp.wouldnt have it.
What's the worst thing about losing the engine at the haulover?
if anything like this happened in UK there would be a swarm of boats helping straight away, unlike here where you have boat loads of overpaid wankers floating past watching
Riding the bow of the boat I'd like to go over there and do some scuba diving. And find all the goodies they lose 😃 free stuff just in my Priceline
2 days after anything falls in the water is ruined by barnacles and salt water.salt water is very very corrosive.
