Michael Jai White Regrets Saying Ngannou Had No Chance to Beat Tyson Fury (Part 5)

Part 6: • Michael Jai White: On ...
--------
Michael Jai White revisited his pre-match thoughts on the Tyson Fury vs. Francis Ngannou fight. Against his prediction, Ngannou showed an astonishing performance, making him proclaim he's "never been so happy to be wrong." Vlad and Michael Jai White compared Ngannou's feat with unlikely real-life sports scenarios, like defeating Tiger Woods at first play or surpassing LeBron James in a debut NBA game, emphasizing the implausibility of Ngannou's achievement. Ngannou's training with long-time friend Dewey Cooper, a seasoned kickboxer, was highlighted, crediting him for the elements of Ngannou's game that took everyone by surprise. They also praised the narrative arc of Ngannou's career, from being dismissed by UFC to becoming a top contender with attractive returns.
This sentence is true in all aspects with Francis " I never seen anyone progress that fast": 1. In MMA 2. In English, Francis less than 2 years ago interviews and today are way shocking, the level of progress is crazy 3. In Boxing (MJW said it) Francis IQ is not only exceptional in sport, his ability to learn, adapt and master is at another level. Even in business he outplayed Dana White and all MMA promoters...
Nail it with this comment
his hardwork and dedication is unparalleled what doesnt kill you makes you stronger and thats francis in a nutshell
Well said
I say that too, I’m surprised no one else points out. This is intelligence is absolutely insane, and he surrounds himself with Israel and usman
Yeah he seems to be an intelligent guy with the right team behind him.
Tyson Fury: I trained 12 weeks for Francis, I’m taking this man very serious! *Francis puts Fury on his ass* Fury fans: Fury didn’t train, he didn’t take the fight serious! Somebody is lying
The ENTIRE Fury clan stated that Tyson trained for the Ngannou fight like NO OTHER! -- Why? Because he had no footage to study on Ngannou, and thus then, had to train for everything possible! -- which apparently wasn't enough🤣 And of course, Fury knew that he would never live down the embarrassment & ridicule of getting clocked by an MMA fighter, who had never had a pro-boxing match in his life!😅🤣😂
Fury admitted that Francis gave him problems, and was the toughest fight he'd had in a long time. Fury did train. And he didn't take Francis lightly. Reason he lost against Francis (and he did lose), is because Fury couldn't use his weight to bully Francis by leaning on him the way he does to all his other opponents. That's what tired Deonte out against him. Fury kept leaning on Deonte, and that weakened Deonte's legs.
@@mikep11218 I ain’t gon lie tho… I love Wilder but bruh is true to his last name. You see, Fury is an actual freak akin to lebron james he definitely uses his size as you stated but he fights small and unpredictable, it makes him very dangerous because he’s calculated and doesn’t strictly depend on size.. If fury didn’t do that, I still see Fury beating Wilder simply due to the fact Wilder swings wild. He barrages POWERFUL punches that lose effect immediately when it’s placed randomly on someone’s body. I don’t think you’re wrong at all, I just think Wilder is an old dog who can’t be taught new tricks as it’s made him one of the best today, but if he had precision and punched with intention besides simply doing damage… brother.
@@mikep11218deontes lil legs was screaming for mercy 😂😂
people dont attack fury for boxing most attacks on fury is because hes a traveller/gypsy thats why most put hate on him
Anyone who saw Francis in his run in the UFC ESPECIALLY fighting Stipe the 2nd time and Gane, knows that: 1) A patient Francis is a DEADLY francis 2) There was no punch Fury could throw that could possibly knock Francis out 3) Fury would never be able to out-clinch and would get burnt out even trying. Fury’s most used tools were literally taken from him, nothing much he could do but jab and attack from the outside. This aint Wilder, Francis could bully Fury by sheer physicality
I was definitely certain that knocking out Francis was impossible...dude has a granite chin. He took an elbow and kept pushing like nothing happened...
Great points!
Big facts
Also furys record is highly padded!!! He isn't as good as people make him seem
Hindsight is 20/20 nobody thought he would win bro
Greatest Boxing Debut in history ... I think Francis has a good chance against AJ & Wilder too.
Nah.
Aj for sure!
@@trueempire8948 Wilder fought Fury 3 times. AJ has no confidence.
Francis Ngannou will kill AJ.
@@donaldpowell6725Based on what? AJ has beaten more top 10 opponents than both Fury and Wilder. Fury ran from fighting AJ, and Deontay Wilder ran from undisputed with AJ. His resume is better than both of them combined even though his career started after their careers. Fury lost because he is a bum.
Once you have 1-punch KO power, you always have a chance 🥊
Oddly enough he didn't even need one punch knockout power. He was handling Fury with fundamentals.😕
It wasn’t just KO power, Ngannou won rounds where he literally outboxed fury
Thank you!!! All these wishy washy experts opinion has zero value

Truth be told. Most of us thought there was no way Tyson was going to struggle against Francis😅
I'm glad Michael Jai White addresses his own words. He's a great guy. But honestly i didn't like the downplaying of Ngannou. It looked disrespecful. When a novice boxer beats a heavyweight .. it says a lot about the level of that heavyweight and todays boxing quality. And that is why i predicted that Ngannou would beat Fury.
MJW thinks he can beat anybody, even though he never professionally fought.
He didn’t beat him
@@trueempire8948 the whole world saw that Francis Ngannou won that fight. Anyone denying that loves the cheater (elbow strike) Fury. Fury got knocked down, Fury got swollen eyes, Fury got cut on his head, Fury got the most punches in his face and body, Fury grabbed all the time, Fury gave a headbutt, Fury gave an elbow, Now tell me how he could have won on points if he just touched (tickle) Francis like he sparred his brother… ?
@@Bingo_the_Pug actually he did. It’s easy to find here on KZhead..
Yeah and if you're heavyweight champion of the world you really shouldn't be in such bad shape, Fury is fat and other than a forty something Foreman I can't remember a champion in such bad physical shape as Fury.
They have to do a movie on Francis man! He can attain that Ali level of status if he continues the way he is. With what he's done, its just amazing
Ohhhhhhh that's so true... Real Rags to Riches right there...
Oh hell no. Ali is like Tupac is with rapping. Ali wasn't the best fighter in the ring and he lost a lot. He's the greatest because of what he did outside of the ring. Just like Tupac is the greatest rapper because of what he did outside of rap. Tupac isn't even close to the greatest lyricist, but he has the most fans. To be honest the greatest boxer of all time is Cus trained Tyson. After Cus died Mike lost focus. 💯
NEVER

Much respect for eating up his word
I said exactly the same thing. It's just logic. But apparently Ngannou defies all logic.

Just because it’s a sanctioned fight doesn’t mean it’s for the title. There are rules about fighting ranked contenders, timeframes etc.

@@Transcendent-Economics-101 He’s right. Francis just ranked in the top 10 by the WBC.

Yep. Part of that rule is You're not supposed to get your azz handed to you boxing someone who's never fought a professional fight. 😋💯
Ngannou did WAY better than ANYBODY thought he would do. Even Tyson
Not sure why everyone is surprised like Francis doesn’t put people on the asses. He just did it with bigger gloves and less “tools” to worry about 🤷🏾♂️.
Because MMA & Boxing are different... it's a completely different kettle of fish, you pretentious tw at.
Maybe because we've seen UFC fighters go into boxing before and they always get dominated e.g. Mcgregor. Francis is legit the first guy to do what he has just done.
@@MR12AMAZING anyone who knows MMA know Gregor has BEEN washed. That was a money grab. Francis is a legit heavyweight he’s a fighter.
@@deejay22369No, it's because Fury is a bum who was exposed for being a bum. He is not a representative of what a proper heavyweight is. He doesn't even look like one, he's covered in flab head to toe. Fury had close fights with Wilder even though he weighed about 50lbs heavier than him. This is why he avoids AJ like the plague, he knows that AJ is far stronger and bigger than him and will not allow him to lean on him, and clinch him until he gasses out. He avoids anyone who he doesn't have an enormous weight advantage over. He got outboxed in some rounds by Wilder who very clearly lacks the most basic fundamental boxing skills.
@@shay_3859 I don’t think he’s a bum. I would put Francis against any of those guys you mentioned and he wins KO

Well i never doubted the capability of Ngannou. Anyone who knows Francis story would know he is a different type of animal. Francis greatest strength is not from his physical attribute but his mind, his indomitable will to succeed. So Francis impressive performance against Tyson Fury comes as no surprise to most of us. I guarantee you even Jon Jones would have his hands full if he ever steps into the octagon with Francis.
Pay homage to Mike Tyson for believing
MJW is not wrong. Nobody believed what Francis was going to do except for Francis himself. It was an unimaginable thing Francis did. I couldn’t be anymore proud of him.
I thought he had a fair chance. Ngannu is a machine, it wasn’t that surprising if you actually watched Ngannu rather than the concept and an MMA fighter beating a boxer in boxing
Mighty Mouse called it.
It was one of the Greatest Performances in sports history
Good win by Francis 🔥🔥

Yes he did
Mike trained Francis for the camera Dewey Cooper is Francis’ real boxing coach

Michael Jai says nobody but Ngannous team gave him a chance. That is a lie. I predicted everything 3 months before the fight. The same day UFC let Francis go i said he would beat Fury. The proof is on my page. Michael Jai White is an actor. A fake fighter who pretends to be a real fighter who knows it all. He doesnt..
It was just Dewey cooper! It was also coach Eric sicknick coaching Francis
That was a really good fight for Francis. For him to go in and knock down the heavyweight champion of the world says a lot about his potential to become a professional boxer. I hope he continues on the path of boxing. Tyson Fury may have won the fight but Francis sure as hell won the respect on that night.
Michael jai while... is the greatest fighter and actor of all time
Nah, Francis won the fight -- but was jilted for the decision. Even Fury himself, knew that he lost = Fury gave NO post-fight serenade, no post fight conference... but certainly a quick exit out of town!!!!!
Tyson lost that fight Francis was robbed
@Transcendent-Economics-101 Tyson won the fight, but didn't dominate like he wanted to, is the reason he felt embarrassed, especially against a guy fighting for the first time as a pro boxer
Just shows how much weight MJW combat knowledge holds. Equivalent of listening to Steve Harvey’s relationship advice
He trains & spars regularly but never been in a sanctioned professional fight, so in his own mind he’s undefeated
C'mon man, hindsight is 20/20. Absolutely nobody was predicting Ngannou, who was a complete amateur in boxing, to beat the undefeated heavyweight champion of the world. Only people who thought that was UFC fanboys and biased Africans. The result of that fight aint got shit to do with combat knowledge. MJW still knows x100 more than you do.
So, Mike Tyson's opinion and support of Ngannou didn't count for anything with MJW?
Michael Jai White was once quoted as saying he’d step in the ring with anybody… except Francis Ngannou. He’d humble his ass real quick.
Ok, and Frances is bigger taller and weights more. MJW as always been consitant on the mans body. Pro level fighters matter in context
Michael Jai White is such a classy dude for admitting he was wrong. In fairness to him, probably 97% of people thought Tyson Fury would breeze past Ngannou.
It was really nice watching that fight with you and your MMA friends at Hudson Grille. I remember the look in your face when Naganou dropped Fury….it was a fun night
I'm a huge fan of Francis and Sensei White. Considering how Coach Cooper is his actual friend and he's been in the gym with them I would have thought he could find a way to sugarcoat or say it's 50/50 even if he didn't believe it. Goes to show even our role models and heroes are human too.
It isn't a lot of people who thought the opposite of what MJW said in the flashback clip, including me. No one should blame him for that take.
I gave Francis a great chance because Mike Tyson committed to him and trained him quite well so I actually thought he was gonna win and in reality he did win but the judges were not gonna let him beart the top ranked boxer in the world without a knock out! Everyone knew that would be the case but he almost pulled it off!
Mike tyson did NOT train francis, he was paid to “act” as a trainer for promotion only. The real trainer was dewey cooper from mayweather gym.
Mike didn’t train him like you think

I wasnt surprised because of the fact Mike Tyson was involved. His obsession and perfectionisme was what i think the biggest influence on this all. Choosing Mike Tyson was very smart of Nganou.
Nobody except Francis or maybe his coach thought he was going to perform like that.
Can somebody tell me WHY Michael trains again??? The only recorded fight I can find of his was when he was 17 😂😂😂 I wanna see a REAL fight.
Go up to him and try him then. Sike nah lol, I want to see him in a real fight too. Hopefully he does an exhibition fight before he gets too old
Im really tired if people saying mike tyson trained him because its disrespectful to his team who actually put in the work. Mike was there as part of the promotion to sell the fight he was not there day to day

Cooper trains him in MMA Mike Tyson was actually his trainer and coach for that fight. Tyson was working with him showing him everything he could in the time he had and props to Ngannou for retaining the information and being able to put it to use. But Tyson was the perfect person to train him given he was the Tyson of UFC
Mike Tyson was only showing up once in awhile. Francis said that his coach for that fight was Cooper with Tyson assisting once in awhile. So, do not take away Cooper's credit and give to Tyson just because we know Tyson is a champion

Link where Francis said Tyson only showing up once in a while 😂 and I'll link you him saying Tyson is his trainer for this fight, he was Francis corner 😂 he literally was at every press conference, training Francis showing him BOXING TECHNIQUES. The knock on Francis was he was sloppy, just winging punches (ya know how he was fighting with DC as his trainer) Tyson cleaned up his technique (as much as he could in that amount of time) and it showed in the fight because he looked totally different. Way more tight and compact shorter punches good HEAD-MOVMENT all things that we watched Tyson train him on. It's tons of their training sessions online. You think the man who has been training him to throw them sloppy hooks in MMA (Dewey) all of a sudden in one training camp where IRON MIKE TYSON was his said coach and Cornerman, and Ngannou looked better than he ever had, like a whole new fighter, but nah it wasn't the one thing that was different (Mike Tyson) but the same dude who trained him his whole career that had him looking like a big strong zero technique but tons of power winging looping punches to in one fight cleaned him up (from what you were teaching him in the first place) and got him to throw straight punches 😂😂 bruh stop. Glad to hear this...i watched the previous interview ...francis proved em wrong
Let's take this logically. MJW, whom I respect, only gave his OPINION, not fact. Similar to how he said he would beat Bruce Lee because of his size. He was wrong then too. Punchers always have a puncher's chance. Ngannou has been fighting so he's relatively comfortable in the ring. He was also trained by Tyson. This just proves what I've been saying for years. MMA generally don't have good hands. Boxers have the best hands and the best training in combat sports. What it requires to be a good boxer takes it to an entirely different level. What you typically see in UFC isn't on the same level above the waist. To make a couple of corrections. UFC tried to lowball Ngannou, but did eventually relent, but he rightly left anyway. Lastly, Tyson Fury's title was not on the line for this fight.
How can you say he was wrong about the Bruce Lee scenario? It will never happen so you can never say that MJW couldn't beat him. Looking at it logically, MJW would be the overwhelming favorite in that match up. The only people that disagree with this are those that are living in a fantasy land where size has no relevance.
