Love it, the guy around @9:00 mark is a beast! carrying around that massive molten ladle of aluminum all over that factory floor. My back hurts just watching it. Thank you to all those men and women who damn near work their souls away! You are appreciated, you are seen. You are the people who make our world possible. Edit - Creator/uploader should tag the businesses or list them in the videos, if the business is open to it. I am certain you would pick up some contracts for work. Social media is the best marketing there is. The screw machines at the end were awesome. Reminds me of my Uncle. He ran Screw machines. Had a similar setup but not as many machines as, Asai has in his ship shown. Great job keeping all those old machines cranking!
After having seen so many manufacturing and repair videos from third world crap-hole countries, it's a breath of fresh air to see how thing are done in a first world country that prioritizes safe working conditions and a quality product.
3rd world more people less machine, 1st world more machine less people.
Probably not India you were seeing, most of those are in Pakistan. If it looks all messed up and messy, Pakistan.
You said a mouthful there Buddy!
Guess you missed the lack of leather and eye protection lol
Despite being such an advanced consumer driven society it is impressive how Japan retains it's smaller manufacturing businesses, often the way in which these businesses create involves a great deal of craftsmanship and isn't reliant on computers. I envy Japan this, small manufacturers such as this in the UK have a very very difficult time surviving if they survive at all.
I hope this kind of back breaking, dangerous labor doesn't survive long. Stone tools were also made by great craftsmen.
Whilst I agree that the work looks arduous that doesn't mean I want it to disappear, though it would be great if it could exist with decent working hours and good pay. Your analogy is false though - here the product can be produced with a higher or lesser amount of automation but the product is still the same - or to put it another way - stone tools can be made by people or CNC machines. I would rather small industry existed like this than just massive companies mostly importing products manufactured abroad: in a time of war or international embargo it would be hugely beneficial to still have smaller scale manufacturing such as can be seen in this video. And if those smaller scale businesses used more or the same amount of automation that's fine with me too of course.@@stevendaleschmitt

Germany and Italy still have many craftsmen working in SMEs who don't rely on computers too much. China probably does too, but I don't know much about it.
thanks for the video, this was our process to a t,those ladels hand carried are 80 to 100lbs of aluminum,at the end of day you are wore out, hard work and kudos to these guys, they work hard
Ahhh yes, finally a refined version of casting/molding. Was fascinated with this process but unfortunately recommended Pakistani method. This is so much more state of art, professional.
Wonderfull, all these companys contribute very very much to other manufacturing companys and hopefully will stay in business forever. The last company is grand, making just one variety of what each machine is capable of producing, the guy is lucky to be in his position as company owner and operator in a much needed products for almost anything.
the video looks more authentic when it has the original audio, you can fell the metal passing from solid to liquid, great videi
Thank you for keeping it real by not adding music.
LOL (I agree) GOD I hate that.
Steady hands and strong back. Dedication and hard work.
Awesome to see Yanmar engine parts being made, It shows why their quality is so good.
This Yanmar engine exported to my country and on of the popular for boat engine, farming and for small construction machine, i didn't know the production are still traditional method
Japan always makes good quality products. Hi from North carolina
Thank you for sharing a part of manufacturing not seen by many. It is great to see younger generation interested and learning this trade. It’s a first for my watching manufacturing of screws, quite interesting. 🙋🏼
Great respect to the man of work! Japan preserves the quality of the product, the harmony of work and the soul of the creator. I still have and use Japanese devices that are already 30-40 years old, these are mechanics, electronics and they delight me with design, impeccable work! Japan, preserve and educate the generation of its creators and creators of wonderful products!!!

I amazed that none of the workers have eye protection but all of the other protective devices. Aluminum is known to explode if it is introduced into an environment such as a too cool Mold or one that has moisture in it!

ive done this work, its dirty, hard, and an honest living, you walk out at the end of day black as coal, especially after flipping the molds, and all the smoke, but the ole school foundry i worked at like this one could not compete with the newer modern foundries, and of course ours closed,it was the last of its kind in marion indiana, west side foundry owned by marion tool,a shout out to my old boss perry white, rip
Greetings from Finland. We love Japan.
Looks like a lot of stuff they have where I work, only it's die casting where the aluminum is shot into the mold under high pressure. At a different part of the company they do a lot of the sand casting. Most of it now is automated with robot arms pouring the ladle from the pot, but the older equipment when I started was still hand ladled molten aluminum.
That guy in short sleeves carrying a big ladle full was not very good. If he slipped, tripped and spilled that load he could have burned the other guy who wasn't even facing him all to hell. I guess safety is not important in Japan. I got splashed once when I was working with that stuff and luckily I was wearing a leather coat otherwise I would have a big burn hole in one shoulder.
Hi friend! Do you know what materials are used for sand casting. Why sand in this video is Black???

Has a person that worked in the foundry industry I can tell that their work is first class!
I am a professional in casting manufacturing. I am not impressed. Too much of physical labor, not enough pneumatic machinery and overhead cranes, hoists. Carrying ladle with hot metal by hands several feet away is not fun too.

A very traditional foundry has casting methods such as flat mold, die-casting mold, sand mold...
really nice work but i don't know why i like more the Pakistani and Afghani workshop 😂😂
Nice video, but do you have the video about pattern making of that foundry casting? Arigatou...🙂
The manufacturing industry in Japan has a variety of industrial structures, and the factory shown in this video is a small-scale so-called "workshop. On the other hand, "factories" are the ones where machines are installed with the latest machinery and automated equipment, and they have far stricter rules and dress code than this video. It is important to note that parts made in a small workshop like the one in this video are of the same quality as those made in a factory with the latest equipment, with the exception that they are even more accurate.

Health and Safety laws seem fairly relaxed in Japan

They know precisely what they do. The alloys are not "what was there at that moment". Feedings are specified (13:41) They stirr in the aluminium very thoroughly, I have never seen that in video's out of India. It would not surprise me if the boss has a degree in metalurgy. Donot forget they work long days (10 hours, 6 days) so defined quality and a matched price are coming together. Japan on it self is a "defined process".
This is why I love Japan and all the products made in Japan

I can not believe that these workers in Japan working without safety gears with molten metals.
