I’ll never forget late October-early November 2016. The headlines were an absolute whirlwind. And then just when it seemed Trump was finished…..Comey came in at the very last moment.
In 2008 there was a Democratic candidate for president who had arranged for a woman to be paid to conceal an affair. There were people on that campaign who were prepared to blow the whistle on their own candidate if it looked like he'd get within shouting distance of the nomination. That never happened because the affair was exposed by, ironically enough, the National Enquirer. Did none of these people consider, even for a moment, the national interest?
