I think it’s between the bio pool - if it’s another long, baking summer you may need the water to keep the plants growing. Also you need the space the extension will create. But to tell the truth, I’m interested in ALL the projects 😃

Yes, what a lovely, caring thing to say! Crusoe and Sawyer are already sharing a very deep brotherly bond. Heartwarming to see and so unusual in boys so young. It’s a testament to wonderful parenting and you guys should be proud! You are great role models for young parents and should consider sharing your thoughts on your upbringing and the things that motivated you to be the parents you have become. Would be an interesting discussion!
My first choice as a big kid at heart would be the tree house, but in all practicality, the extension makes more sense for your family's comfort. Loved Crusoe's statement "they're just hanging around Mum"....so down to earth and clever. Little Sawyer sure knew how to get up that ladder, with Crusoe asking him if he needed a hand. Put a smile on my face.
The tree house is probably mostly done , they did that before they went to India

You’re really going to be needing the extension on the house so they can start on the BIG HOUSE WHEN YOU GET THE OKAY. More room as the kids are growing so fast….😊

I am so worried about the planning permission. I hope your architect has done his job well and it's a relatively smooth process. I don't live in Europe, but have heard quite a few difficult stories re planning permissions. Your land is not quite as complicated as your friends, Raising voyagers in Italy, but no doubt you've seen, how they have had their extension plans terminated. Keeping my fingers crossed for you.
Just been reading the comments…your audience is full of treehouse dreamers who remain practical at heart for that house extension. I think we all love whatever you guys get up to and appreciate the chance to tag along.

I wonder if it would be a good idea to put some of those fabulous flat stones on the greenhouse floor? The stones would absorb the sun during the day and give off a bit of heat at night that might help keep the greenhouse temperature warm when you are starting up your plants. Just a thought!

Yes I can’t say the same for my big bro but he showed me how to drink alcohol and to smoke now I do neither but the horse has bolted so it was to late to stop for me but I hope other people learn from fools like me before it’s far to late!
So so much to love about this video. My heart melted when Crusoe offered his brother a hand up the ladder, and when Sawyer wrapped his arms around you and kissed you while you worked around the greenhouse Tara. Im so impressed with the way you are raising your children (wish I could turn back my clock 40 years and practice what I am learning from the 2 of you as parents); engaging them hands on in the projects. Practically yes the stone house extension must be first, but it looks like you have a good start on giving the boys at least he basics of the tree house to use in the short-term. I would love to see you add to the stone house so perhaps the boys can have their own bedroom and you guys can get some higher quality sleep! That way you’ll have more energy (if that’s even possible) to work on all your other projects ❤
Your boys are so special. Sawyer has the most expressive little face and when he smiles his whole face lights up. Him hugging you while planting strawberries just melted my heart. Sawyer is so invested, it's just wonderful to see. I wait for each episode with anticipation. ❤

My heart is just gushing. Crusoe helping his little brother. Both of them helping with chores. Little Sawyer with his binky and trowel and giving his mummy big hugs and kisses. It made me cry. Treasure these moments. Before you know it they’ll be grown and if you’re anything like me, finding it hard to watch as they drive away.

I imagine a Tree house evolving as the boys grow Maybe some climbing structures now and as they get older adding a zip line? And a reading/ art nook inside? Sounds so fun ❤️Love it❤

Those projects all have to happen, indeed. However, I do think there is a priority list (not necessarily a favourite project list); the extension, bio pool (extra water storage), tree house and a luxury add-on the James Bond getaway. My favourite build would be the tree house for the boys, seeing their cute little eyes twinkling ✨and seeing them develop independence and their own sibling adventures 🤍🤩

Tara, extension to the ‘small house’ first, then try it out to see how you need to alter/improve/amend anything before you get building permits through. All the others are wonderful ‘joy’ projects that will give you exactly that during all the complexities and inevitable frustrations of your new house build. It would be a way to keep mentally positive because building your own house can be mega stressful.
Extension on house to be ready, bio pool ready for the heat, tree house pick away at it. Underground room bonus !

I feel like I'm hanging out with you each video and it makes me want to help. 😂 As far as my preference on what project(s) I'm the most interested in watching would be the treehouse/and extension for different reasons. I couldn't pick just one, but I'm thankful to be a part of the life and renovations y'all are making in your lil piece/peace of heaven. Y'all are living a big part of my dream too and it's nice to watch a lovely couple/family making it a reality. It lights my heart up with joy each week. All the best! 💜

Stone house extension is my choice - projects like that tend to take longer than expected, and it would be sad if you couldn't move in - that would hold up progress on the big house. Looking forward to all of them, though!

Tree house and James Bond Room!!! After the drive and that cost, the little projects give you a cushion by youtubing and make life fun and memorable, while you finalize plans on the house - so they are exactly what you want before starting anything you might wish you had done differently. 🤩 But, whatever you choose, it will be fun to watch. You guys are a joy to be included in. 😍 It is so fun and endearing to see John has such a little carpenter worker in Crusoe - to inspire and be inspired by. And so lovely to see how Crusoe has learned from you both to be kind, encouraging, positive and productive! 💙💜❤ And what a great location for the treehouse! Beautiful!

When I was in middle school, my history teacher would invite the class to his house for a field trip every year, and he would make us authentic Italian sodas! The highlight of the trip, though, was that we all got to play in the epic tree house he made for his granddaughter. It had running water in the sink, an actual phone that she could pick up and call through to the main house phone and a TV with VCR. Eventually, he added a mini-fridge... it was the perfect place! It had beautiful stairs leading up to it... and flower baskets all around. Every kids dream!! I can't wait to see what ya'll do with the boys' tree house! ❤
I think house extension should be job 1 as you will need that soon. Watching Crusoe try to help Sawyer up the stairs nearly melted my heart! Sawyer giving you a hug and a kiss was the sweetest ever! I love how sweet the boys are and that is due to you and John. You are wonderful parents and I love watching you guys work on all projects. Much love to you all. ❤️

'Do you need a hand Sawyer'...oh my heart 😭😭😭. A great start to the tree house project, and soil preparation. I'm a plug plant girl myself, a bit of a lazy gardener, but it's plants only as I can't really grow veg where I live. If you finish the tree house, it gives the boys another space to play in whilst you concentrate on other projects, so that would be my vote 👍
So lovely to see John in his element creating organically with wood. Magic moments with Crusoe helping Sawyer up the ladder…Sawyer is never far behind! Sounds like some amazing projects up ahead…for me I’d love to see how you create the new extension to the stone house!

The extension to the stone house and the tree house would be great as you need the space and fun for the boys. Love seeing the interaction between Crusoe and Sawyer and when Sawyer gave mum a cuddle and came round to look in your face and touched your chin, heart melt time x

Hi little family, as you know I love to see your vids, I love the sense of rejuvenation you must feel as its reflected in what you are doing at the moment, as for your project priorities you know best because you are aware of the time factors related to each project. You always have magic going on! To me the house extension makes most sense for you four. Practical thinking, I know. John could always sneak out and add a few bits to the treehouse whenever he feels the need to unleash a creative moment or two.
I have to agree with some of the other comments that house extension is a priority and if possible finish the treehouse to certain degree for the boys. You can always keep adding on as time allows. Crusoe is such a wonderful brother as he attempts to help his brother up the ladder. Sawyer loving his mom in the garden is precious. You guys are the best!
Well, while you're waiting to start the extension, and since John has already started on the tree house, I think you are already doing them in the order that is best. Help up by big brother, bugs doing their thing and Sawyer trying to get a little love mom, priceless!

Before the video gets very far at all I have to comment on two things. One of them is the look on Caruso's face when he looks at those chickens is so adorable you can see the love. And the next one is on all at 81 I forgot his name but the daddy when he talks about building a treehouse for his children is so wonderful

Love seeing you and your children interact in the garden. I taught my children gardening and am now enjoying my grandchildren work in their garden with my daughter! And my son will have a garden one day.
Most practical: Stone house extension. Most exciting: Treehouse! I had to stop the video at "need a hand, Sawyer?" to wipe away happy grandma tears, and again at Sawyer's affectionate hugs. You are all so lovely.

As I drink my 1st cup of coffee, my heart melts as I see Caruso offering a hand to help his baby brother Sawyer, and my heart melts even more when Sawyer hugs his mom and then kisses her. Your children are so precious. You both are doing such a wonderful job with them. I think it’s marvelous how you both include the two boys in whichever projects you’re working on. As for which projects you should work on first, my suggestion is the extension of the Stonehouse because you’re going to need a comfortable place to live in while the big house is being built. The next project I would build is the treehouse. I’m really excited to see how the treehouse turns out. I’m so glad I’ve been following you since the beginning of your journey in Portugal.

Loved the boys, Crusoe helping his brother. I love watching the ease of doing things, slow pace of life. I always remember being rushed and not really enjoying every moment with my children. Being older and having grandchildren is a much more relaxed, sitting back and watching the joy on their faces with everything around them ❤ It lightens my day watching your videos

I love your projects but I would like on the extension to the house first I think that is really was needed and then you can work on other things after that’s done when they come back and say that your permits are ready you need to have a place to live, but I think they all sound like fun things for Jon to do it. I am excited to see all of the projects. Your vision is inspiring! The boys are so lucky to grow up watching these projects come to life. They will have such vision to see what their projects will be. Can anyone else see the boys in school when the teacher passes out popsicle sticks, twine and glue. Teacher then instructs the class to build a birdhouse. The other children saying how, that’s not possible or help me. Crusoe and Sawyer will turn to their classmate and say “Hold my juice box and stand back”

Love seeeing you all back to your little peice of paradise in Portugal ❤ as for the lineup of projects, my heart screams Tree House - as I believe it will be a fun adventure for all to embark on, then the extension, bio pool, & lastly James Bond. However, I feel practically, you need that extension & the bio pool for sanity & sustainability on your farm. The tree house & james bond house will be amazing additions to the necessities.

I have to say that the tree house (Especially how amazing the outdoor kitchen turned out due to John’s wonderful creativity.) is the most intriguing new project to me… it would really stand out as I don’t think there are that many treehouse builds being featured on YT. Whereas house extensions/makeovers are a dime a dozen on KZhead.
