A few years ago my wife and I went on a tour at the ASARCO Mineral Discovery Center. It was amazing. It is closed due to covid right now. But if you get to Tucson, it is worth the trip. I think it was free too.
we take things for granted and do not even comprehend how complex are full industrial cycles are
Really interesting proccess, I really liked the diagram of flow it looks very well done and very explicit to understand all the proccess. For the other side when they show how those robot hands organize the tubes for the packing part I really get crazy of that efficiency and develepment. Thankyou for show all this advance proccess and all those great ideas of production.
From dirt to copper. Impressive!
From ORE to copper.
I'm amazed that cold drawing process works, it feels like it should just tear etc. Impressive
Hello friends ❤️ have a great day
komatsu is the real winner in these processes
The process of obtaining copper that you have not seen and will not see...🤣
🤣
Super super super vella ZOT edh mam ZOT ZOT ju dimofte te gjithve vella
skipped the main part of how it gets from bubbles to ingot
And also skipped all the good parts and showed boring animations instead.

They're not gonna show us how to make it an ingot. lol that's like showing how to make a secret recipe!

I love watching these kind of videos.
What with stupid kin subtitles that you can't read if you are watching the video, the kin mute needs to speak like a proper person.
That machinery and technology seems to be difficult. Eyes are rolling while watching their performance. 💕
Hello sir ❤️ have a great day

Hello friends ❤️ have a great day
Absolutely amazing many thanks
I consider copper a precious metal.
I’m a truck driver and once picked up a load of rolls of thick copper single strand wire at a factory where I got to see a little bit of how the wire was formed into the rolls. It was very interesting.
Communicate more clearly please
@@teeess9551 What? He used perfect English (aside from the run-on sentence) and communicated great.

Outstanding system
I noticed the coils were strapped with copper, is that to stop the coils corroding
Amazing to think this stuff was only worth pennies before! So much work, such beautiful metal!
Good job
I think your working environment should be very hot, right? hard work hard
OK Im glad to see that Im not the only one who realized that a HUGE section of the processing was left out. What happend to the bubbles that had copper? How do you get copper from the bubbles? The video goes from showing bubbles and then next they were cutting ingots of copper. WTF
Yeah, the editing were all over the place on this video. Back and forth in time and place, mixing recycling with ore etc.
Trade secret??
Interesting clip thanks
Wow what a beautiful technology in processing these thing, God blessed.
God?
Between enriched ore and billets, I think we skipped a step or two.
Nice
Perfekt 💪💪💪💪💪👍👍👍👍
Nice one
Thanks 🔥
The amazing 👍
what happens between 25% copper minerals (with trace silver and gold) and pure copper billets? Seems like very important steps were skipped. The ones I was curious about actually.

Particularly the electrolytic collection of copper ions grown in the liquid bath onto thin copper anodes.

All I'm thinking is moonshine stills!
In this industry, everything is a little bit bigger. The vehicles, the conveyors and the engines. We can say that because we are repeatedly asked about our mega large electric motors that we manufacture for this industry.
I've been an "Electronics Junkie" since I was born in 1958. People who have been playing Extreme music can hear the difference in guitar pickups made with wire from China. They say it's because Chinese copper wire has impurities in it. Do you have any insight in this argument? Thank you...🇺🇸 😎👍☕
Big kitchen, end dish: copper spaghetti! Joke aside, it’s an amazing process.
Joke?
copper is like gold, only cheaper
Or like ore, only more expensive.

How does it go from bubbles to billets? Seems you left out a critical detail.
I just wanna know how they figured out there was copper in the earth and how they figured out how to get it and how to make it into wire and how they figured out it was conducive for electricity??? So MANY QUESTIONS
Video really jumps around a lot without much proper explaination of any particular part. It's more of a Wikipedia link chase of copper facts than the copper production process
Hello friends ❤️ have a great day
Would have been nice if this was narrated
Also if proper english were used it would be more processable. No pun - realy. But also the cutter has to be stretched and coiled. Well that would be a pun.
This video has GIANT skips in the process.
need some background music or some sound. good video, just that alarm that kept going off then nothing is a lil boring.
So, anodes then go into electrolysis bath?
Yes. There anodes and cathode sheets. The impurities and rare metals fall to the bottom in a slurry that is then refined as well. The copper collected on the cathodes is stripped off and is 99.99 percent pure. These are surprisingly heavy. I got to see these procedures at Phelps Dodge in El Paso Texas in the mid 1980s as a teenager. They would never let anyone visit today without being an investor or industry professional much less a teenager. I feel very fortunate to have been allowed to see this great achievement in person.
I like, am working with Mauritania Copper Mine ( FQML ).
What's the application of the huge copper anodes?
Electrolytic Refining.
@@MidisHellas well yeah but what?
Electrorefining is a process in which materials, usually metals, are purified by means of an electrolytic cell. The anode is the impure metal and the cathode is a very pure sample of the metal.
Oh, and here I am thinking a man with a pick starts at the garden tap and starts digging from there.

In Canada you can’t get any copper sheets, nothing for high end manufacturing.

So where is the production and smelting of copper? Too abrupt switching from ore preparation to smelted billet, not even casting is shown.
This video should be called mining rocks and packaging of copper tubes... They skipped the only thing that matters which is from dirt to copper...

Could not understand the USA only non metric units so had to find another video on this subject matter that used internationally understood metric units of measurement.
You are lucky the unit Celsius is used in the video instead of the freaking Fahrenheit.
