    • On paper, North Korea is still at war with South Korea and the US as no peace treaty was ever signed, simply an armistice. While the latter two don't view it this way in practice, North Korea considers itself still very much at war. It motivates much of its country under this premise, and it has worked for decades.

    • Independent Mind Don't confuse 'obedience wrought by terror, lies, and compulsion' with 'discipline'. One hopes that 'choreography' may never sink to that level, although I suppose there are no guarantees against it. When North Korean officers abuse women soldiers, they are not exercising self-discipline at all. Not that this problem doesn't exist elsewhere (!), but it is said to be rampant there.

    • +Aslan Sınav Russia produced 3000-ish T-90, China does the same with 600 of Type-99 and the production line is still running, North Korea built 500 Pokpung-Ho, compared that other modern MBT, Japan produced 44 Type-10, UK produce 440 Challengers, Germany built 3,200 of Leopard 2 variants but most of them were no longer use by Germany, France produce 700 AMX Leclerc and 300 of them were in use by UAE, South Korea have 100 K-2 as of now and they are still being deployed. The Russian/Chinese also maintain thousands of their older T-80, T-72, T-64, Type-96, Type-59, Type-79 and many other tank while keep modernizing them so that they can fought on equal term with NATO MBT. To say that Russia and China is outnumbered is wrong.
