  • The World Snooker Tour responded to Higgins' remarks with a statement that read: "The quarter-finals are scheduled to ensure that at least one match finishes in each session on Wednesday. It is important for our international broadcasters to spread the match finishes across the three sessions in this way, and we have to take this into account while trying to make the schedule as fair as possible for all players."

If the Wednesday afternoon session did not have either of those match playing their second/middle session, then the only option would be to have the other two matches playing their third/final session. However, this opens up the possibility of no play at all (in the case where both matches finished with a session to spare). That's why you usually see a final session on one table, and a non-final session on the other table.

  • Yea John I've been saying for decades, as a businessman Barry has let snooker down. Massively he doesn't work it how it's supposed to be for at least 10 years. These days there are far better and brighter minds that could actually get snooker going again and bring in big sponsorships. It doesn't suprise me that old Barry can no longer attract those sponsors that are needed to take the game back to it's heights. At it's heights in the 80s with baccys sponsors the 1985 got 18.5milliom viewers in Britain alone now it's barely a few mil
