  • This dude really does march to the beat of his own drum. He is brutally honest, unapologetic, and very insightful, all in one. He plays tennis as if it was a chess game with pure talent and intelligence. Meddy is the real deal!

    • @@MrGenexxx "English is so basic" - As opposed to what? the greatest and the richest of the languages in the world, the mighty Russian? lol English is indeed somewhat easier to learn then some languages, but pronunciation is quite difficult to master. It is definitely not only the famous russians who struggles, many ordinary russians (and other nationalities) I worked with had a very thick accent even after years in an English speaking country. I do believe it is a lack of effort on their side, but Medvedev speaks well enough to give stellar interviews, that's for sure.

Meddy in 5 GS finals lost against eithef Rafa or Djokovic, especially AO 2022, was a heartbreaking loss for him, I am so proud he overcame it and came back stronger. And Sinner 5 setter loss against Carlitos in USO 2022, and Wimbledon 2022 against Djoko. Both deserve to win on Sunday. It will be a great day for tennis, that is for sure.

His style and swings are not like an orthodox tennis player and appears to be awkward and slow but effective, probably because he is so tall. He articulates his strategies and tactics beautifully and honestly. He is a bit like the movie star James Steward. He has lost two Australian Open final and one US Open final. Hope it is time for him this year (2024).

That being said, he comments how he wants to be better on the court, something that should be applauded and yet he made a whole ordeal about seeing the replay at 6-5 in the 4th, when he knew it was completely pointless. I guess Rome wasn't built in one day, but it was somewhat curious the journalist didn't ask him about that. Would have loved to hear the answer.

    • Despite his insight, efforts & introspection, he’s human. Can’t be perfect. He had a moment there. A very minor one too. Picking on people too much, to every last detail of their behaviours can feel to them like they’re being ripped through. So, it’s great that no one asked him that. He’s trying, he’s succeeded so much, so to pick on that would be a real mean thing to do. Not saying that you were mean or anything though 😅🙂. Just saying in general.

He played a superb match today, but I really feel like the Novak of today was not like the Novak just a few months earlier. He played sub-par almost the entire tournament. May be age is catching up. I also feel like his vegan diet might be insufficient in energy for an athlete. My point being, if Sinner goes fearless as he did against Nole today against Meddy, Sinner will be the champ.
