Abandoned Mineshafts feel very 2011. Let's bring them into 2019 by making them look a little bit cooler, and adding a bunch of interesting redstone traps and pitfalls in Minecraft 1.14.

It’s just so weird to me that Mojang doesn’t add things like this. It seems like procedurally generating mine shaft tiles shouldn’t be that difficult so would it be difficult to have those tiles rigged with traps, treasures, and red stone? I don’t think so.

guess he kinda forgot it would be for survival, the main reason to go to a mineshaft is for resources and since you can mine everything it would not make much sense but if someday something similar is added im going to hunt those to learn how to replicate them (and also free redstone stuff) :D

Similair to jungle and desert temples - beginners are the only ones likely to fall for it, intermediate+ players just mine all the redstone and loot then get outta there. Devs would never add anything so intrecate as Mumbo's - just too many resources

- Elevators (some are broken and drop you to your death) - Lights (lanterns or torches/Redstone torches for a spooky mineshaft.) - Moss blocks! - Redstone doors that sometimes work/missing keys or components as you said. - Rickety bridges, ladders, & stairs waiting to snap once you put your weight on it. Traps feel more dungeon/tomb-like, but what do I know?

Using the Ropes! mod, which is CurseForge by the way, and combining the lead with the ropes should make them swingable if placed singularly; and for the rickety planks... I'm just gonna post what I wrote on another video down below: Mossy Planks: There's a chance that not all of them are sturdy enough for a miner to walk through and come back with the ores in hand, crumbling and breaking away into splinters that seal off the bridge on the other side Rotten Planks: No one has entered these long abandoned mineshafts and came out alive beyond the entrance with minerals and riches in their hands, bottomless pit death traps they are should too much strain be put on these sensitive, if not aged and strength or resilience waned, wooden blocks by the weight of the miner's foot that would cause the collapse of the bridge that leads from one side of the tunnel to the other side where rich minerals lie ahead. Like with the mossy planks, the ends of the blocks might collapse and break away into splintered edges that seal off the bridge or even fall apart under the weight of the overmined ceiling on top of the supports that too are unable to continue holding the mine on their backs like Atlas himself. Beware of the sounds of creaking and intensifying threats of snapping when treading carefully across this block, although underground it is become clear that water in the form of moisture had seeped into the cracks that were formed from age; the fungus and the corrosion have eaten away at the cellulose fibers that gave the wood it's ability withstand even the heaviest of weights, and it is all but a gamble of fate whether or not it will stand or it will come falling down apart into the bottomless pit trap down below

I think making it so that dungeons that spawn in an abandoned mineshaft were decorated like the bunkroom Mumbo built would be cool. It would make it seem more naturally generated if the ridiculously old school dungeons that often spawn in abandoned mineshafts just got a slight visual and technical upgrade, but were still a little copy-pasted.

1.18: City update. 1.18 adds alot of lore. Abd revamps Mineshafts (if not allready revamped by 1.17) It also makes dungeons better. There is also now a new place for you to explore called the "City" The city is a series of ruined buildings with lots of zombies. Mineshafts have a increased chance of spawning under here. Improvements to mineshaft: Minecart system that cricles around with a different (easy to get) item every time it circles around, if any dungeons are suppost to spawn inside it or near it there is a small tunnel that leads to the dungeon, If mineshafts go into a ravine the ravine is transformed.

You say you can't build. LIES! That looked really good! Also, those are some really good traps. There is quite something to be said for simplicity. I feel like these should all be added to the actual game at some point, especially now since the structure generation has been improved. Maybe it'll be part of the new cave update? Hopefully? Minecraft really needs more traps. I'd love it if the game played more like one of Vech's old sadistic complete-the-monument maps. Maybe fewer mobs, and the void areas were simply evil, but the traps are always fun.

I prefer to think that the Mineshafts were created by humans, not Villagers
Also, instead of just having a key somewhere on the wall, it could be a drop of one of the undead miners.

I think this is something for HARDCORE minecraft. While the design is amazing, I love it, I do think for just casual players who like exploring and building it might get a little tense! But, if you explore enough of an abandoned mineshaft and end up here, it could be a real test to your mettle! I hope to see you do a Pillager Update concept, their towers would be harder to invade if they had booby traps!
