A simple and permanent fix for error 19 - Undocking Problem, which is very common among Braava Jet M6 mopping robots. Requires a soldering iron (or wood burning iron, which is the same thing). Any soldering iron would do.
So glad I found this video! I didn’t know what to do to fix our mop but this fixed the issue on the first try! Thanks for sharing!
My Braava has done this since day one. My solution was to just help the poor thing out of the dock. Finally got frustrated enough to search for a solution and this video popped up. I never would have thought of this. 15 minutes later I had it completed and the problem was solved! Brilliant! iRobot should just ship a free soldering iron to every Braava user and a link to your video.
Or they should texture the base at the factory. But they don't care.
Works like a charm. Don't know why irobot wouldn't do this from the start.
Simple but efficient solution. My Braava is undocking with no problems at all. Thank's for sahring it.
Thanks for your video. Yes, undocking worked immediately! However, docking was a different story. I then used the soldering iron for the entire path of the docking station. In addition, I noted that the after-market pads I was using were much thicker than the OEM. Change the pad and now all is working perfectly.
Thank you. Great solution. I was so focused on adding material to the divots and/or wheels to improve traction I would have never thought to use a soldering iron.
Great idea! I just did this to mine, and man there is no stopping it now, no more undocking problems. TKSVM for the post!!!!!!! Great job!!!!!
Thank you so much for this solution. This has been the bane of the m6 existence for a long time - now I can automate mopping again
Thank you for the great solution! We haven’t been able to use that robot for months, and within minutes I fixed the problem.
Glad to help!
Great idea! Until I get a soldering iron, I took two small pieces of Velcro tape (the rough side) & stuck them into the wheel wells on the base. That gave me the traction it needed, even if it is only temporary.
Genius solution! I was considering some of the others I've read about (putting sandpaper in the wheel wells, using tacky tape), but I was concerned about how they would affect overall performance. I just used my wood burner to do this and it worked just as well as in the video. No more having to manually move the bot off the base to start. Thanks for posting this!
Glad it helped!
Thanks for the solution. I also used your technique on the front edge of the docking plate because my robot would ship getting on. I only did three rows behind each wheel and the robot does not slip getting on anymore.
Thx Mate. This was done in like 10 minutes. Works perfectly on my Irobot.
Just la many others, I had this problem since day one. Thank you so much!
Stippled it and it undocks without fail. Thank you. 👍
Glad I could help!
This works perfectly. Thank you so much for fixing my ongoing issue
You're very welcome!
Smart. Mine is working just fine now. Thanks.
This video is fantastic! It solved my problem real quick 😊
Great Video fix thanks for it, Just one thing on video instead of picking it up and putting it back on base pad just hit the home button and m6 returns itself
Fixed my problem! Thanks!
I take that back lol. It seems like there still is an issue even when I extensively scuff it up. It runs fine on the first time but then it just doesn't run after that first time.
Genius!! Thank you
Worked for me!!! Thank you sir
Thanks worked great.
worked perfectly, thankyou
Outstanding!
Thank you, worked perfectly !
Glad to help!
Thanks a lot!
Thank You !! It Works Great
Sorry I missed this comment, KZhead's notification system sucks. I'm glad you found it useful.
Good solution for the docking. The wheels still have issues getting traction of the floor after a while.
That hasn’t happened to mine yet. When it does, I’ll come up with something!
@@MrRoombato How about new tires?
Genius!
They should link your video to their official solution. Thanks!
What's your username on eBay for purchasing the hinge? The Previously given URL now is broken.
Ours will undock only about 5-10% of the time regardless of how clean and dry the base is. I have to assist it always. I’ve always felt the drive motors lacked torque sufficient enough to get it over the hump. That said, I will try stippling the base. 🤞
My issue isn't like this, but more serious. Mine worked fine for about 1.5 years and loved it.. But now it's useless. I start it (docked or not). It moves forward a bit then turns 90 degrees one way and then the other way, and then just stops. I removed the wheels and got some debris out of the wheel wells. O also cleaned all the sensors, although not so sure about the sensors that are located inside wells also. No change. Ever heard of this, and is there a fix? For now it just sits in the charger and useless. This is the best Irobot mop I've ever had .
No, sorry. I'm not familiar with this. It sounds like a serious sensor or processor failure. Then again, could be something dumb and easy to fix. I suggest you contact iRobot. Well, what I really suggest is what you buy a Dreame W10. :)
Helpful but why do they even have those things on the dock, couldn’t they make a other design??
Hello, 1 of the 2 mop contacts oxidized and rotted and no longer charges, the rest is perfect, how do you fix it? is there a fix?
If you can sand it, do that, otherwise it would have to be replaced.
@@MrRoombato Hello, the rust has almost spent all 1 contact, what would be the replacement part?
@@cuentasagregadas845 I don't know. Contact iRobot customer service.
My Bravo m6 will not return to base it just go around in a circle? in front of the base but when I place it back on the base it starts to charge again, I have to do this every time Any suggestion on what it could be I just this its new
Try resetting is (factory reset) and having it map again. Or first try turning it on and off. But really, it's 2023, that robot needs to go. :)
how do you reset it@@MrRoombato
@@larrylung4795 I don't remember, I don't have mine anymore. Contact customer support.
Genius you would have thought the engineers would have figured this out at iRobot, I guess not!!
That is not their only surprising lapse in judgment. :)
My problem is the reverse. Mine wont dock when it returns. It backs up but the tire are wet therefore it won't backup to charge. I've even turned down the spray amount and it still has a problem backing up to dock and recharge.
Well you could extend the stippling to the edge of the platform. That might work for you. Although I have never had this problem, so I can't help but think there may be something wrong with your robot or its wheels/tires.
I used the hook part of Velcro in the cavity and it has been working for 2 years now.
Same idea, easier to do. Nicely done.
In my case the wheels aren’t slipping, but they just don’t seem to have enough torque to drive out of the base without a push. Anyone else with that problem and have a solution? Also complains a lot of time about being out of water when it is 80% full and I just have to shake it. So annoying.
How about the docking issue? Any solution?
Which docking issue? There are several. :)
@@MrRoombato the issue when after mopping it cannot dock or unable to dock / return to the base.
@@bolinoy818 Right, but what's the cause? Too slippery? Can't find dock? etc. There are many!
It finds its dock and starts to maneuver back to its dock but just wont dock, its already on half the docking plate and finds difficult to keep traction or having a hard time to lift itself to make full dock. The wheels still have the traction/lines.
@@bolinoy818 If traction is the issue then this will fix that, though you may need to extend it to the edge of the platform.
You’d think Roomba would do this with all the people having issues over this
Or you can use Self Adhesive Hook And Loop tape....
That might work! I tried grip tape but that wasn't enough. Velcro may work or the little plastic "hairs" might bend out of the way as the wheels spin. If you test it and works long term, please let me know.
@@MrRoombato Unfortunately I don't have an M6, it's just an idea. You can also glue thin rubber into holes for wheels, for example, from medical gloves on double-sided tape. It may be necessary to increase the gap between the mop and the mat.
Mine wont even go up the ramp, any idea?
If it won't go up, and you have a threshold set there, then it just can't. In my house it can't cross most room dividers.
@@MrRoombato ok, threshold worked thank you
@@courtnie97 Awesome!
Honestly the quality of iRobot products is not the best
Now try docking while wet. I had to use rubberized tub tape where the wheels drive up, to give it something to grip on. Because mine had trouble docking while the wheels were wet.
With this mod it will dock even if you oil it.
WTF - did they make you edit the pistol out because somebody got their feel feels hurt? I swear I f-ing hate KZhead sometimes.
No, it wasn't KZhead. They even cleared it for full monetization based on my own description of what was in it. I was losing subscribers, which started happening as soon as I uploaded this vid, and stopped happening when I put up the new version.
@@MrRoombato just as bad. People had their very delicate feel feels hurt by inanimate objects. 🤯😱 Eh well, the world we live in I guess. Easy times make people soft.
Шкурку нельзя было приклеить
That was an option too, but this was better.
