George Stroumboulopoulos Tonight gets Jackie Chan's Best Story Ever: for a young martial arts performer, getting to act opposite Bruce Lee was a huge honour - and Jackie Chan got the chance on the set of 'Enter the Dragon'. But things didn't exactly go according to plan.
When Bruce accidentally hit Jackie in the head, he felt awful. Which allowed Jackie to spend a little quality time with his idol.
Jackie's in Toronto to introduce screenings of three of his classic films, 'Drunken Master', 'Police Story', and 'The Legend of Drunken Master'. All three are screening at the TIFF Bell Lightbox.
George Stroumboulopoulos Tonight airs Weeknights at 7 PM on CBC Television

  • Another reason I love this story is that we get so few of these earnest stories about Bruce behind the scenes. His Hollywood image was of him as this always intense and ever-serious dude - and a lot of documentaries tend to keep painting him that way - but stories like this speak to him as a person. The image of him having an "omigod" moment and rushing over to tend to a colleague he accidentally knocked out during a shot is very sweet.

Also he pass is him off as just a actor .Truth is Bruce Lee ,Jackie Chan, Jet Lee, Tony Jaa are Donnie Yen would wipe the ground with Chucky.

  • every story I've ever heard in these videos and interviews over the years expresses how kind Bruce was when he was still alive, it's a shame his fans today will never get to experience it for themselves. I did meet Jackie when he was filming Forbidden Kingdom and he was the kindest and most humble man I've ever met.

  • I'm a 100% straight, male and I can confidently say that Jackie Chan is the most adorable and lovable guy to have ever stepped foot on his planet. Such a rare, once in a life time spirit. Love that guy! And much respect to my Hero Bruce Lee. A professional but always a class act. Gold seal of approval on the Bruce Lee/Jackie Chan Bro-mance.

  • Classic! Funny, and also illustrates what a compassionate person Bruce Lee was.. I read Jackie's autobiography, and the story that stuck with me was when he was about 20 or so, and fought off some real-life street thugs who had attacked him. Afterwards he saw blood on his hand and a bone sticking out. He thought he'd broken his hand. But then he realised that it was the tooth of one of his opponents, embedded in his fist! Moral of the story; Don't mess with a Kung Fu expert!
