It's finally time for the fourth installment to the chant series, this one focusing on Rarity's gift of Generosity. I know it's been a long wait, but it's finally that time. Every chant is finished and compiled onto the album in the links above. I hope you enjoy it. Tell me what you think in the comments.

Lyrics:
(chorus)
One would believe in simple means
Some would believe it possible
Others feel it won't be seen
For none believe in miracles
Some give a diamond for a stone
Some give a stone for a diamond
Some keep all things for their own
And some remain in silence
(v1)
There once lived a girl in a simpler time
With night-like hair and skin so white
Wherever she went, everyone she'd tell
"What appears as mine, 'tis thine as well"
(v2)
So she went through the world giving all she had
Never feeling the need to claim it back
Everyone she'd meet would befall her spell
"What appears as mine, 'tis thine as well"
(v3)
Counting the days of a shortening life
Living the ways of a nursery rhyme
Humming the tune of a ringing bell
What appears as mine, 'tis thine as well
(repeat chorus)

  • I just realized why this song seems so rarity. The opening reminds me of her posing, but when the beat picks up...it's how she trots. The high mincing steps. But taken quickly and precise.

  • That chorus is giving me serious Lord of the Rings vibes. It's doubly sad because the show's gone too. That was actually one thing I never thought would happen. It had been around for nearly a decade, I think? ...Hmmm... Two stones for the pegasi under the sky, Two for Earth ponies on farms for stone, One for the unicorn not born to change. One for Twilight on her crystal throne, In the town of Ponyville where sanity dies... Magic to rule them all, Loyalty to bind them, Laughter to bring them all and in the castle bind them... In the land of Equestria, where sanity dies... How did I do?

    • You know, I get what you mean. There's some really good sea shanty type music out there though - including some brony stuff. "Lunar Pirate" is a good example (and also sung by MEMJ, the same as this song). A few days after listening to it I had an awesome dream about being in a pony airship battle. "Dragon Roost Island" from Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker is also similarly themed, and is my favourite piece of music (Chant of Selflesness is 4th - also behind "Song of Storms" and "Baba Yetu"). The Muppets Treasure Island theme "Shiver My Timbers" is also really good.

    • @@cameronsmith2670 I am sorry to tell you but this is what I was warning you about. There is no supernatural at all and there are no gods. There is only invention and deception when it comes to everything outside reality. Invention is the realm of fantasy and deception is the realm of those who want to make you think that gods and other fantasy things are real when they are not. Gods started as fantasy and at some point they started to be used to fool people like you and make you believe that they were real when in fact they are just characters in stories. And you have been successfully fooled. Sorry.

The thing is that I was obsessed with truth and justice since I was a child and in time i found out all of the things that are true on this planet and also all of the things that are false. You believe whatever you want if you want to think that gods exists but I just wanted to help you see the world more clearly. I am not going to argue with you any further on this subject. Take care.

    • @@cameronsmith2670 Also I understand that believing in some things helps you and gives you a lot of joy but unlike you, I need the things i believe in to be true. And the things that are not true I still enjoy them a ton because I understand the meaning behind them. Things like MLP and anime have done to me more than any real thing on this planet and this is why I accept them for what they are without the need to believe that they exist anywhere in reality. They do exist but only in our minds and our hearts and that is good enough.

  • I think the most impactful part of this song for me is "counting the days of a shortening life" it brings a bit of sad remembrance to it, like the person singing this knew her and greatly respected her, but she died maybe a bit too soon or something. there is also the fact that this is literally about her generosity and her giving people her all even though there seems to be an underlying tone of 'everyone knows her days are numbered, and yet she is still going strong'. i really just like the word choices in this.

  • So listening to this album kind of puts a good story in place, 4everfreebrony (whatever the oc's name is) lives in a world where a villain takes over and has a wall around Ponyville...the oldest pony ends up being a pony known as the Librarian (who also happens to be a Twilight reduced to her unicorn self with no memory of her friends who have passed away) 4everfreebrony has been having these reoccurring dreams of these Elements and realizes the memories had to be put somewhere as you can't destroy memory. The story revolves around this bard character trying to give the Librarian her memories back to defeat this villain and knock down the walls that hide the rest of Equestria who has been trying to break these walls down for years as they have the monumental charm that would show Twilight her memory 4everfreebrony would also find ponies that relate to the Elements (the female singers of the songs) who would help in whatever they can
