The driver was the one trusted the most by Leonardo, yet he was totally useless. He contributed nothing to the heist but wait in the car. That's why he was so nervous and careless and got them caught. Any of the other four could have been the driver.
If Leonardo hadn't returned to Belgium, non of them was going to be arrested

Lucky the prison sentences were really small..Leonardo after 5 years got to spend his 20 mil share of the heist. The other 3 after 6 months. The 5th one never got caught, he was the true mastermind.
