This was a great test for gauging interest in the series being free to watch here on KZhead. Future episodes will be a single 20-minute video for each wedding. Much quicker, more information and interviews talking through the whole day. Thanks for watching so far!
just wanna say thank you because if it werent for this videos i wouldn be able to make a great wedding video. keep it up man
Learnt a lot from these! I actually really enjoy the length and the unedited pace - it shows what it's really like in the moment of shooting without jazzing it up, we get to see your process and how you think about composing shots and your interactions with some people throughout the day. I'm sure I'm not the only one, but would love to see more in this long format without the bells and whistles, just raw - totally understand they much be tedious to edit and put together, especially with the actual shots in the corner, but I appreciate the effort and time for all this! And thanks for making it free too! You the man, Kraig.
ɷ I Have Watched Thiss Movieee Leakeddd Versionnn Hereee : - t.co/RlKbv1hghK
excellent, leave them whole, I am teaching my wife, video and the situations and how to deal and let me tell you, you are making my process so much smooth we love watching your complete videos unedited, I have also referred friends and sent them the links so they can learn the entirety of it all, we are forever in debt with your approach. keep up the good work.
videos are so full of needed information and instructional it keeps us tunes from the first moment till the end.
I am very impressed with the amount of mutual respect both you and the photographer had for each other. That is very important. I have had a few photographers feel video is an after-thought and isn't as important. So, therefore, they can walk in front of my cameras at any point during the ceremony. Both photographers and videographers are basically trying to get the same shots, from the same angle. After all, there normally is just one perfect angle.
you are absolutely right about this!!!
After watchin these i have way more respect for wedding filmers than photographers
Mohammed Kibria same, even though I do both things. Wedding videographer do most of the job.
I WISH I COULD GIVE ONE MILION LIKES. NOTHING BETTER THAN SEE HOW IS MADE LIVE TO UNDERSTAND THE WHOLE PROCESS, I LEARNED A LOT.
I WATCH THE WHOLE THING FROM START TO FINISH. WITH PART 1, 2 AND NOW 3. ITS JUST THAT GOOD I WANT TO LEARN YOUR TECHNIQUES & TRICKS BECAUSE YOU'RE MY IDOL
Duck shots on fleek... Essential to any wedding film
Kraig's eye is amazing and his ability to "get the shot" is what really impressed me with this channel and inspired me to start shooting video. I can't wait to see what the "new guy" is going to bring. I'm very much looking forward to it.
Once the bride and groom left the aisle after the ceremony I got that weight off my shoulders, the same as when I'm actually there shooting on the day. It was nice to see how you do things Kraig.
Man I have learnt so fucking much just by watching you do your thing. I love how there's no panic, you just get what you need and move on. But everything that's captured is precise and controlled. Really well done
Wow, an excellent example of what is involved as videographer at wedding. Thank you.
i learn alot by just watching this
I love how the gentleman at 13:26 with the kid in pink were respectful and he held the child's hand and walked around you to avoid being in your shot. Whenever I'm filming at weddings people don't care and just walk across
I'm filming my first wedding in a few weeks time and after watching these its making me feel so much more excited and confident rather than nervous. Just need to pressed record and remember to breathe :) If anyone has any good pointers and advice they would be able to share with me that would be greatly appreciated! Thank you for making this videos.
Awesome to be able to follow a solo shoot like this!
You're amazing Kraig. Every shot seems to be so easy for you. thanks for the video!
This is probably the MOST crucial part of the event. I applaud you for the amazing job you did, for shooting by yourself and thank you for letting us see this through a 3rd persons view. This was actually sooooooo helpful! Not only does it show how you shot this but the editing process as well and the different opportunities that one can take to get all these different angles an shots! I am in the process of polishing my craft and finding my own way to do these wonderful events and seeing the work another videographer is inspiring. I've gone to Ray Romans workshop and he also thought me a lot and guided me to follow my own way to do things and trained my eye to see things I never would have seen before. Although Ray is on a league of his own I find myself relating more to you and your work because I find a lot of similarities between us. Thank you for everything man please keep up the wonderful job!
24:35 "Is this your first wedding?" lol
Shooting a wedding today and this video gave me the exact answers I needed for a few questions. I reference your work a lot when it comes down to something i need to learn more on. Please keep these videos coming!
I really admire you Kraig. Keep up the great work!
having your b-roll in this edit is helpful for perspective. . enjoy the uploads WFS
This is super cool - great to see another wedding cinetog BTS.
Great sermon!
Love these behind the scene series. Really really helpful, got a wedding to film next Sunday, wasn't really sure where to place the second camera during the ceremony as I'm filming on my own. Thanks for these videos Kraig!
Thanks for these videos Craig. Really great to see another shooter shoot in real time.
You are the best one-man videographer I have seen so far. Very good video (this behind the scenes), and very good job on the wedding video.
great job I saw the whole video beginning to end. we have a lot in common I notice many things I can improve in my works. thanks for sharing your work
Awesome!!!! great stuff I'm going to shoot a wedding for friend in March and this has been great advice...thanks for putting this out
thank you so much for posting this... so generous of you
This is amazing! Thank you for the hard work Kraaaaaig-maaaaaaaan
While I was watching your wedding video, I was like where have I seen this guy n then I was like "ooooooooooooo he is the minimalist hiking guy".
Nice work! I would've oriented 2 of those wonderful cameras differently, on OTS shots of the bride and groom during the vows, although the back camera had a nice 3-shot of the vows. The camera on monopod could've also swung around and captured singles or clusters of people in the congregation, to show the bride and groom every person who was there, to break up any monotony and to punctuate any poignant or funny moment. Overall, clean, beautiful capture!
Just ordered my A7s II, thanks for the vids Kraig!
Great job! Love it! Learned a lot from this video!
thank you so much Kraig, this video helped me out a ton!
i just watch the the hole video you are the best . thank-you for sharing
Wedding Film School, I had fallen asleep watching one of your videos. Not because it was boring but because I was exhausted. I had woken up kinda mid sleep, but I was dreaming and this video was obviously playing during my dream, and I legit dreamed about a wedding too, it was weird..... very very odd. But all in all Thumbs up from me. lol
lol funny
This is, surprisingly, very interesting and gratifying.
I can't believe how well you covered that with just yourself and two cameras! Man I need to step it up! Haha!
omg this wedding is so peaceful i would love to film these
Fucking hell, your monopod shots are smoother than my tripod ones.
You have my respect and admiration!
beautiful Place! thanks for Share with us.
Thank you very much. You are great and very nice to share that with us. Thanks again.
Thanks man, been waiting for this :)
I LEARNED ALOT WATCHING YOUR VIDEO! THANKS!
Thank you this so helpful your channel is the best
This is awesomeness! Glad I got to see you in action. Seems like there was a glitch in the matrix at the end. Super encouraging to take my videography to the next level.
Kraig, you are such and inspiration. Thank you so much for the videos you upload. They are a huge help for me. Right now for me you are my role model as a videographer. I just started out shooting video at weddings. It would be a great help, to know, what settings for picture style/profile you use on your camera.
Thanks for this vid. Very nice to see you in action. We are waiting for part 4 :)
@9:12, that shot is just amazing, nice job dude!
man dude your a beast!!
Excelente trabajo
The quality on the A7sII is insane. Need to get me one of those
can't believe I just watched the whole thing, very informative tho. thanks dude! i also noticed, the two photogs didn't get into many shots, how did you manage that? how do you start a conversation with them without saying "get out of my shot"
Great learning, keep it up. Excellent.
wow thankyou kraig . i learn a lot :)
thankyou for sharing WFS, so exited to learning video from you. very talented. im sorry, how much memory you've spent on this wedding? in 4K. thankyou
Super is to see you work, greetings from Nicaragua
very good!!!!!
Great video, I have recently decided to be a wedding videographer and it's something I have thought about a lot. I'm still trying to get my first wedding but in the mean time I share tips and tricks on social media, mom stuff and technology. i can't wait until my first gig!!😊
smart choice
when you do get your first dont panic just let the day flow
GREAT VIDEO!!!!!!!!
Hola señor. Great job on your videos I've learned a lot from them. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with all whom seek of it. Just one question, actually two, but im asking too much. What picture profile did you use on the sony?
the guy at 48:48 taking a selfies on the iPad hahaha
i really lik it
Awesome job. I like the creative shots you crafted for the rings, and characters, settings, and items. Well done. The ceremony was very nice too. The microphone was very clear and You represented great professionalism. The only thing that I would like to critique is that the backup camera position at the ceremony was not where I would place it. I don't know if you were using it as a backup or an additional camera. If it was additional then its fine. But if it was a back up I would place it where you were standing looking toward the back door capturing as people come up and use the second camera to grab all of the reaction shots of everyone. This way if your camera goes out you still get a shot with the second camera. You can always set it lower so people don't trip over it. But, since you have been doing this for a long time, i'm sure you know what you were doing and have developed your own method that works well for you. So great job. High Five.
YAAAAAAAAS!
Do you have the Camaras recording all the time or you stop each time you move your positions?
Really good and useful stuff Kraig - I have one quick question - did you use manual focus to track all those people walking up the aisle at the beginning?
I love this video, just tripot & slider
Thank you for this, Kraig! Question, how did you get the bride's mic during the ceremony? Does she have a lav mic too? Thanks!
Coming from the UK its great to see how an american wedding differs, there are of course similarities but also lots of differences, when the couple do the vows in the UK the congregation all stand up which usually renders the back of the room camera useless! haha Secondly it must be lovely to have the space you did in that room, in the UK with the weddings I shoot its usually a pokey room where they cram as many people in as possible and if I am up the front I am stuck there! I have especially found in the UK the priests or registrars definitely see photographers and videographers as a hinderence and usually ask us to stay in one spot during the ceremony.... from your videos and others I have watched USA weddings seem so much more relaxed in the UK everything is rush rush rush
Tnx for sharing the actual video work job u did! Questions: did u shoot in manual mode? How do you keep everyone in focus everytime? Did you use AF-C focus mode Or manual focus? What settings you normally use for ur videos? Sorry for asking alot. 😞 and appreciate all ur videos. It helped us to get better expectations when shooting wedding vids..keep up the good work and I wish u more clients!
Hey Kraig during the ceremony how are the vocals captured of the groom, bride and efficient. And where did you place the recording devices?
Great video... 51:20 didn't seem long at all. I have a question when using Canon glass on the Sony a7sii. How does it perform? Also how's the focus when using the adapter? I have Canon glass and I am thinking of switching over to Sony. Thank you again ")
How do you deliver the ceremony? Would this be a full length, uncut version of the ceremony or would you just edit down the highlights? Thanks!
What types of final films do you offer to the couples? Do you do a complete ceremony edit, or do you focus mainly on the cinematic highlight films?
Great series..I started last night with the 2 hour video...now Im on to this one. It was the video..The wedding was all in one spot, but the property was huge. The groom had a dog. Onsite Edit. I'd love to see a video with you showing that..from the in and out points to finish.
Please. Need help. What type of camera slider are you using in Beth abd Phil. ?????????. Great video...
Kraig! You da man! Just earned a new subscriber! Question? What frame rate did you shoot in for this sequence? Which frame rate do you usually shoot it? Thanks alot!
Hey Devin, nice to have you join the WFS squad. I shoot most clips at 24fps. Sow motion clips are 60fps
Hello, at the beginning of the video you have bag of your gear and would like to know which bag you have, thank you.
I know this is 2 years too late but that photographer girl was SO into you Kraig
OMG IKR I was watching it thinking she definitely has a thing for Kraig! Especially at 21:08 when she came over to speak to Kraig and do some small talk
Awesome stuff! How do you keep them in focus when they are walking towards you? Are you actually focusing as they walk?
Hello me from the past, this is you from now. Just use auto focus, don't stress it. It's ok on sony a7III
Hi Kraig, I enjoy this BTS a lot and makes me think how calm you are when doing everything and how much time you take to get the shots I've often wondered, especially in the ceremony, how you get on the slider shots and don miss anything. It also makes me more confident with what I shoot. The only criticism about this I have, going forward would be the edit is so out of time with the shots that are coming up in the corner it is a bit distracting. and I would think it works better if it were more in time/ sync.
Do you use any automatic settings? Run N Gun is so challenging.
Kraig, is there a reason you recommend the Sirui monopod in your notes, but all I see is Manfrotto monopods in your shots?
To get less depth of field on your exterior shots do you bump up the shutter speed or use an ND filter?
Great job! Two questions: 1) Are you pulling manual focus as they come down the isle towards you, or auto focus tracking? 2) I see there's some daylight and tungsten lighting up front towards the bride and groom. What did you set your WB to?
Me gustaria saber con que lente trabajas amigo.. saludos
how are you getting the brides dialogue, is she mic'd up or are you picking it up from the groom? love your work KA!
What was the gear the bts cameraman uses? Think of a camcorder and not DSLR.. thanks for the answer!
That Sony A7Sii camera you have is really good with low lighting. My crappy canon 70D would never be able picked up most of the interior shots without bumping iso to almost 3200-6400.
get a better lens.
+Ice Ryda yeah right. I have the sigma 18-35 1.8 short focal length for ceremony but best in low light.
Sigma 18-35 + shutter 1/30 sec + C log from EOSHD.com - 70D will never be A7sII, but it is enough for most indoors.
The a7S2 also has to bump up to 3200-6400. Just that there still won't be a lot of noise :) But also consider that the majority of his shots were taken with prime lens, where he can easily open up to f/2.
Outstanding behind the scenes footage of you doing what you do. I have but 1 question: why would you shoot all the ceremony footage with the back of the bride to the camera? After all, it is the bride's day. I know from the footage the right side of the room was cramped against the wall, but you could have taken one of the chairs far right.
Do you have a link on the beautiful lady photographer's website? Thanks much
these r dope Kraig. I need that tripod in my life
That tripod is awesome. I'd never go back to anything else.
Really, what u like most about it Chris Milbourne
+Ice Ryda the fact you can level the shot with the half ball centre column. it isn't that heavy when compared to a lot of other, more traditional video tripods. however it does have it's flaws like not being able to get really low for example
whats the name of the tripod?
Gabriela De La Fuente amzn.to/2iCup5k
Did you happen to make this couple a documentary style video along with the highlight video you've posted? I'm asking because it seemed you were careful to have at least one camera on point. Or is this just what you always do? Thanks. Another great video!
Kraig, did you only place the portable audio/lav on the groom? Or is the priest wearing it too?
hi ,what is the best dslr for wedding video and photo . am looking at eos 5d iv but am not realy sure though.please help.
at 5:04 you said, "cool shots are only as good as the reaction shots your contrasting with." Kraig, how mindful are you of getting a pretty good balance of this? I think for me I'm so stuck on getting the awesome beautiful angle shots and when I edit it always seems off because I lack the reaction or responding shots? I'm sure that's apart of your style of storytelling too as well. Thanks! this video helped alot.
I have to learn to work as stressless as you. In fact, you had so much time to setup your cameras, I always have 5-15 minutes for each situation (preps, photo session, ceremony etc..). To be honest, if I wouldn't see your results, I would ask you, "what the hell are you actually doing?". F.e. I missed some close ups and more from the bride. This is a good example when you know excatly what you do and what you need to record. Thanks for the video, I've been waiting for it for a long time
Is the audio in this sermon direct from the lapel mic? did the notetaker pick up the audio this well?
Do you stabilise your shots in the post? Because all the shots seems so smooth and using a sturdy tripod. I use monopod as well but it never is smooth like yours. Please share the secret. Thanks.
The A7sii has built in IS that's how he's able to shoot smooth.
Not on a tripod.
