Thank you for the video , my mechanic could not find the issue after changing the sensor. i had all the listed faults come up on my dash after the sensor change. This fault would only happen every so often. i took the time to clean the magnetic strip on the bearing with a toothbrush and wd40 , unfortunitaly this did not clear the issue. On the bed of the sensor a small section of raised rust increased the clearence of the sensor from the magnetic strip on the bearing. After a scrapedown and cleaning i remounted the sensor and all faults are now gone. in total two hours all in , a happy wife untill she gets her toothbrush back.

mario, thanks for the video, i had the same problem and was sure the gearbox had some serious problems, took it to the citroen dealer, 40 euros for a diagnostic check and 45 euros to clean the sensor so i paid and am now happy. a small price when i thought that i would probably have to scrap the car. keep up the good work my friend!

I had the the same problem over the weekend. ABS FAULT/ GEARBOX FAULT/ PARKING BRAKE FAULT. I only had 1-3 gears 😒. 🤔so i watched your video checked the wiring loom and couldn't see any thing. Then plan B ABS sensor i took if off cleaned it and wow 🙀 its like new. Thanks for the advice though this video saved so much 😊💯

Edited. 6th April 2021 Hi Everyone, After trying everything that was obvious from watching endless videos about wheel sensors, Blue wires, corroded connect etc it turned out to be my front Passenger side Wheel Bearing because the Magnetic strip was faulty. I was amazed that this was giving me all the issues ie. Christmas tree lights Abs, Ecs, Auto Gearbox and more. I hope this helps and it was a pretty inexpensive part to fix compared to the warning alternatives 😬 Alan.

I have a 2009 Citroen C4 Picasso HDI. I wish I found this a year ago... I had a few mechanics not find it. The closest was to replace the gear box robot. After getting one the errors just went away. Maybe that got an accidental clean or driving it in the rain helped.

I’ve drive the 2008 Picasso and I got all the warnings as you do. But when I try to release the handbrake with the pedal I can’t I have to use the lever on the dash as I have a electronic handbrake. Also when the car is turned off it’s supposed to come on automatic but it’s not and have to remember to put the leaver handbrake on. Garage said it did a diagnostic check and results were it was a sensor problem.

I have this issue, but it being a citroen i do know a warning sign on the dash maybe something completely different, the car may throw a code, but something else maybe causing the issue, i come across this vid looking for answers because my car kept telling me it was a intermittent clutch sensor problem change it & it never solved it, i never give the abs sensors a thought so I'm going to try the jet wash trick (basically jet washing the sensor & rings instead of removing them & cleaning manually) i will come back an let you know the results!

Yep it sorted it, hit around the sensors & rings x4 wheels with some "GUNK" an give them a good jetting, seems to of worked anyway, been driving it for a few days now an all is good so far!

Hi fantastic vid bud well explained I have a citreon c4 grand Picasso 2008 1.6L diesel 2008 that has a esp light and abs light on its also not shifting passed 3rd gear some sort of emergency mode I presume ,I cleaned the abs sensors on both front wheels still the same issue. I called the RAC to have a look and they've said it's a communication issue with one of the computer modules what do you think could be the problem I'd really appreciate the help bud 😁

@@carsurgeon7736 after that to be sure the sensors are ok l got one original new sensor from the shop and measure ohms ( is on KZhead ) and the all old ones and if you have similar reading to original then you know they are good. That's all we can do . If mechanic got that info, then he know that something else needs to be checked. Hope that helps. 😉

i add more story of correct fault - the first try to remember what you was doing with car did you replaiced wheels if yes mean you touched abs sensor so come back and check the sensor, my story was i replaced sreeting inner rod both sides and not correct tight nuts that is why EPS was coming and even computer reader could not read, later after three days computer start reading it is steering wheel fault, so i unscrew nuts and return how it was, so EPS gone, finish no more faults. another fault - turbo pressure electrovalve control flow too low or too high. mean time to change air filter all dirty blocked was, i replaced and fault gone, it wont help you if you gonna buy first electrovalve sensor wont work. and another faul - preheating relay plug fault - i checked tested relay all good, so removed all glow plugs four of them, one gow plug gone died, and rest 0.6 oms, so going down - SO 55£ SPEND BOSCH BOUGHT GLOW PLUGS AND REPLACED - fault preheating relay gone. so some times showing one fault but greating before some of one item, so need a bit think. takes time, but you getting experience.

hi mario i hope you can help me i have a c4 picasso 2009 1.6 THP petrol just 34,000 miles full dealership service history the previous owner was unable to drive it due to illness so was parked on his drive for a year the discs and pads are very rusty i have a abs , faulty handbrake come up on dashboard and it will only drive in M mode manual there is no drive in A automatic mode had my friend plug a scanner in and tried to erase faults has come up with the abs sensor on drivers side is faulty but when we looked it is a fairly new sensor ? my mechanic said to replace the abs sensor including the bearing and magnetic ring ? and this should fix the problem ? also if i clean all the wheel rings like you show in your video do you think this will fix the problem hope you can help me thankyou regards terry

Cleaning doesn't cost you money. Check sensors with ohm meter to find out which one not working. Clean first discs and drive to find out.

Polish car mechanics are great ones. I have a chance to buy C4 Grand picasso. Thr owner had issue with abs. Car went to emergency mode and was possible to drive up to 3rd gear no higher. He changed abs sensorrs and car drives fine. Therr is only ESP and SERVICE light on dashboard. Shoul I worry about this or still can drive? Can this stop the car on the road? Please let me know as the car is great and has 110000 miles. Thus is 1.6 HDI diesel. Waiting for your answer. Dzieki wielkie.

W każdym kole jest czujnik abs. To na bank. Ale może warto by było pod komputer podłączyć, ale przeczyść sam ile dasz radę , może wyeliminujesz błędy. Mi podłączył bo robił tarcze i podpowiedział.

Mechanik wymieniał mi tarcze i sprawdził, ale nie miał czasu przed świętami i doradził aby zacząć od tego koła. Spoko koleś. Nie sprawdzałem miernikiem bo nowych czyjników choć kupiłem ale oddałem . Przeczyść 4 koła najpierw, bo i tak się przyda tak jak i mi a potem sprawdź czujniki. Niestety nie pamiętam ile +- to może być. Może warto kupić nowy i sprawdzić i porównać ze starym. Powodzenia

I had few faults on my one. I had chat with my mechanic first and he suggested to me the steps. You got only one fault showing. So that could be only gear box. Thanks for asking but l am not right person for that. I just using common sense. In your situation I will prefer Google first, ask Peugeot mechanics ( not standard garage ) and see what they say. Call few and see what they say. Not everyone is helpful. Why l should pretend l know for sure if l am not . I hope you share what they said. Good luck.

I get a message "Gearbox faulty" When i move the gear lever, nothing happened, it does not go to "'D" , it stays on "N" and sometimes the car does not start, and other times it starts. The OBD II says "Manufacturer Controlled Transmission. Code P 1834" what do you think the problem is?

Abs sensor is on every wheel. By connecting to computer you can eliminate the good one. In my case mechanic told me to do first front left if you sit in the car. So go on computer £60 or clean all. He done free for me as l asked to do the job ( you see new discs ), but he was so busy before new year so l asked if l can try. He said so , but l think is good do all because if one happened now - tomorrow could be another one. So clean all, and ane problem solved. In same time check by miter ( ohm ) sensor . You can find online too. Good luck.

I dont know now. If you use brush - you can get between the metals and more chance to clean properly. No lines - no good reading by sensor. Better sometimes spend more time and do more carefully. Now you worry.

@@creativemario101 what's happen is i destroy the car totally ;) my dad put the sensor back i put the wheel and go for ride. But after fer meter was like cristmas the car was thinking which gear to choose 1-2-1 total bad situation. I didn't have time yesterday. And today i open again. Clean again with brush the right wheel, clean carefully the sensor bed because there was a lot rust disconect the sensor spray between the plugs. 30 min job. Put back everything , wasn't able to clean the faults. I use a cheap reader and torque pro. But once i more the car everything dissappear from the dash. I come today to work, and was our first day since i drive on motorway without any lights for brake abs asr esp and gearbox. I think is fix now. When i clean the left wheel before few days i was use and flat screwdriver and i remove all the watch lines from that place. But no issue at the moment.

This is happened to me on a motorway, when you turn the car on it takes a minute before appear the message and block the Gears , but if you are already in 6 gear you can carry on , what I did was just stop on a shoulderway turn off after turn on , and foot on the gas , once you are in 6 gears and appear the message you can still carry on in 6 gear ,

there is a much easier way. just drive and when you are at the end of your 3th gear set the selector in N wait a second and set the selector back in manual and you are in 6th gear!

@@creativemario101 the problem was rust under the abs sensor after cleaning and removing the rust the problem was solved, the rust was moving the sensor away from the magnetic ring and created an error

@@dejancetojevic2078 Moj c4 picasso je imao grešku ESP/ASR, PARKING BRAKE i podizači stakala su radili kako su hteli. Jako ĉesto su odbijali poslušnost. Nakon zamene EGR, sve se vratilo u normalu. Neispravan ti je elektronski deo ventila, a ne mehanički. U tom slučaju, čišćenje ne pomaže, samo druga elektronika ili ceo ventil.

Thank you for the video , my mechanic could not find the issue after changing the sensor. i had all the listed faults come up on my dash after the sensor change. This fault would only happen every so often. i took the time to clean the magnetic strip on the bearing with a toothbrush and wd40 , unfortunitaly this did not clear the issue. On the bed of the sensor a small section of raised rust increased the clearence of the sensor from the magnetic strip on the bearing. After a scrapedown and cleaning i remounted the sensor and all faults are now gone. in total two hours all in , a happy wife untill she gets her toothbrush back.

mario, thanks for the video, i had the same problem and was sure the gearbox had some serious problems, took it to the citroen dealer, 40 euros for a diagnostic check and 45 euros to clean the sensor so i paid and am now happy. a small price when i thought that i would probably have to scrap the car. keep up the good work my friend!

I had the the same problem over the weekend. ABS FAULT/ GEARBOX FAULT/ PARKING BRAKE FAULT. I only had 1-3 gears 😒. 🤔so i watched your video checked the wiring loom and couldn't see any thing. Then plan B ABS sensor i took if off cleaned it and wow 🙀 its like new. Thanks for the advice though this video saved so much 😊💯

Edited. 6th April 2021 Hi Everyone, After trying everything that was obvious from watching endless videos about wheel sensors, Blue wires, corroded connect etc it turned out to be my front Passenger side Wheel Bearing because the Magnetic strip was faulty. I was amazed that this was giving me all the issues ie. Christmas tree lights Abs, Ecs, Auto Gearbox and more. I hope this helps and it was a pretty inexpensive part to fix compared to the warning alternatives 😬 Alan.

I have a 2009 Citroen C4 Picasso HDI. I wish I found this a year ago... I had a few mechanics not find it. The closest was to replace the gear box robot. After getting one the errors just went away. Maybe that got an accidental clean or driving it in the rain helped.
Also good idea to use a jet wash behind the wheel from time to time

I’ve drive the 2008 Picasso and I got all the warnings as you do. But when I try to release the handbrake with the pedal I can’t I have to use the lever on the dash as I have a electronic handbrake. Also when the car is turned off it’s supposed to come on automatic but it’s not and have to remember to put the leaver handbrake on. Garage said it did a diagnostic check and results were it was a sensor problem.
Instead pay for diagnostic first think wheels and sensors should be clean first anyway to eliminate first and hopefully last problem.
is the magnetic strip from metal or what? with tooth brush its not coming off, can I use some scraper or flat screw driver?
I have this issue, but it being a citroen i do know a warning sign on the dash maybe something completely different, the car may throw a code, but something else maybe causing the issue, i come across this vid looking for answers because my car kept telling me it was a intermittent clutch sensor problem change it & it never solved it, i never give the abs sensors a thought so I'm going to try the jet wash trick (basically jet washing the sensor & rings instead of removing them & cleaning manually) i will come back an let you know the results!

Yep it sorted it, hit around the sensors & rings x4 wheels with some "GUNK" an give them a good jetting, seems to of worked anyway, been driving it for a few days now an all is good so far!

Hi fantastic vid bud well explained I have a citreon c4 grand Picasso 2008 1.6L diesel 2008 that has a esp light and abs light on its also not shifting passed 3rd gear some sort of emergency mode I presume ,I cleaned the abs sensors on both front wheels still the same issue. I called the RAC to have a look and they've said it's a communication issue with one of the computer modules what do you think could be the problem I'd really appreciate the help bud 😁
Two front done. Ok. If your car got sensors on back wheels , l think you should clean it first to eliminate possible errors 😏 What do you think?

@@carsurgeon7736 after that to be sure the sensors are ok l got one original new sensor from the shop and measure ohms ( is on KZhead ) and the all old ones and if you have similar reading to original then you know they are good. That's all we can do . If mechanic got that info, then he know that something else needs to be checked. Hope that helps. 😉

i add more story of correct fault - the first try to remember what you was doing with car did you replaiced wheels if yes mean you touched abs sensor so come back and check the sensor, my story was i replaced sreeting inner rod both sides and not correct tight nuts that is why EPS was coming and even computer reader could not read, later after three days computer start reading it is steering wheel fault, so i unscrew nuts and return how it was, so EPS gone, finish no more faults. another fault - turbo pressure electrovalve control flow too low or too high. mean time to change air filter all dirty blocked was, i replaced and fault gone, it wont help you if you gonna buy first electrovalve sensor wont work. and another faul - preheating relay plug fault - i checked tested relay all good, so removed all glow plugs four of them, one gow plug gone died, and rest 0.6 oms, so going down - SO 55£ SPEND BOSCH BOUGHT GLOW PLUGS AND REPLACED - fault preheating relay gone. so some times showing one fault but greating before some of one item, so need a bit think. takes time, but you getting experience.
hi mario i hope you can help me i have a c4 picasso 2009 1.6 THP petrol just 34,000 miles full dealership service history the previous owner was unable to drive it due to illness so was parked on his drive for a year the discs and pads are very rusty i have a abs , faulty handbrake come up on dashboard and it will only drive in M mode manual there is no drive in A automatic mode had my friend plug a scanner in and tried to erase faults has come up with the abs sensor on drivers side is faulty but when we looked it is a fairly new sensor ? my mechanic said to replace the abs sensor including the bearing and magnetic ring ? and this should fix the problem ? also if i clean all the wheel rings like you show in your video do you think this will fix the problem hope you can help me thankyou regards terry
Cleaning doesn't cost you money. Check sensors with ohm meter to find out which one not working. Clean first discs and drive to find out.
Polish car mechanics are great ones. I have a chance to buy C4 Grand picasso. Thr owner had issue with abs. Car went to emergency mode and was possible to drive up to 3rd gear no higher. He changed abs sensorrs and car drives fine. Therr is only ESP and SERVICE light on dashboard. Shoul I worry about this or still can drive? Can this stop the car on the road? Please let me know as the car is great and has 110000 miles. Thus is 1.6 HDI diesel. Waiting for your answer. Dzieki wielkie.

Hej. U mnie w Grand picasso 1.8 benzyna zapalał się najpierw chce k engine... Błąd mówiący o za bogatej mieszance.... Po wymianie sondy było ok. A teraz właśnie pojawiaja się te same błędy plus check engine😭
Witam ,w którym kole jest ten czujnik abs? Kupiłem już 3 czujniki stopu.ostatnio zablokował mi się ręczny na skrzyżowaniu.wyciagnolem czujnik spod pedalu hamulca i dało radę pojechać dalej
W każdym kole jest czujnik abs. To na bank. Ale może warto by było pod komputer podłączyć, ale przeczyść sam ile dasz radę , może wyeliminujesz błędy. Mi podłączył bo robił tarcze i podpowiedział.

I replaced as friend told me uo do so as was jumping on first gear ⚙. Still same. Nothing better.
Jak sprawdzales miernikiem czy czujnik jest ok? Na co ustawiles miernik? Jakie wartosci powinien pokazywac? Piny i + - ma znaczenie?
Mechanik wymieniał mi tarcze i sprawdził, ale nie miał czasu przed świętami i doradził aby zacząć od tego koła. Spoko koleś. Nie sprawdzałem miernikiem bo nowych czyjników choć kupiłem ale oddałem . Przeczyść 4 koła najpierw, bo i tak się przyda tak jak i mi a potem sprawdź czujniki. Niestety nie pamiętam ile +- to może być. Może warto kupić nowy i sprawdzić i porównać ze starym. Powodzenia

I have not clue. I can't help you with that. I am just builder. Trying to figure out myself a lot but not gear box. Citroen will help but cost money. If l know - l will tell you. Good luck

mine turned out to be corroded wires on the rear speed sensors...replaced them...job sorted...no more xmas tree lights...
cost 70 quid...

I had few faults on my one. I had chat with my mechanic first and he suggested to me the steps. You got only one fault showing. So that could be only gear box. Thanks for asking but l am not right person for that. I just using common sense. In your situation I will prefer Google first, ask Peugeot mechanics ( not standard garage ) and see what they say. Call few and see what they say. Not everyone is helpful. Why l should pretend l know for sure if l am not . I hope you share what they said. Good luck.

Hello, my 2009 Citroen grand Picasso. I get a message "Gearbox faulty" When i move the gear lever, nothing happened, it does not go to "'D" , it stays on "N" and sometimes the car does not start, and other times it starts. The OBD II says "Manufacturer Controlled Transmission. Code P 1834" what do you think the problem is?
Go to garage where they specialise in citroen but not dealer because they charge too much. Standard mechanic could not help much sometimes. I have not clue what is going on there.

Abs sensor is on every wheel. By connecting to computer you can eliminate the good one. In my case mechanic told me to do first front left if you sit in the car. So go on computer £60 or clean all. He done free for me as l asked to do the job ( you see new discs ), but he was so busy before new year so l asked if l can try. He said so , but l think is good do all because if one happened now - tomorrow could be another one. So clean all, and ane problem solved. In same time check by miter ( ohm ) sensor . You can find online too. Good luck.

Follow the cable. Is about 50 cm long. You will find out the connector. Check it out on line how to disconnect ( just in case ). Is easy.

I got the same problem but the relevant module does not communicate for the diagnosis. I really don't know that where is that module located. Cloud you help me with that? It would be Appreciated.

I clean this one but i use flat screwdriver to remove the dirt but i remove and this little lines like that now is flat surface is that a problem???
If you can tell me is that a problem ? I remove that litle lines on one of the wheels when i cleaned. I will drive car later on motorway and i will see what is happen. When i drive local and up to 35miles i don't have any lights.
I dont know now. If you use brush - you can get between the metals and more chance to clean properly. No lines - no good reading by sensor. Better sometimes spend more time and do more carefully. Now you worry.
@@creativemario101 what's happen is i destroy the car totally ;) my dad put the sensor back i put the wheel and go for ride. But after fer meter was like cristmas the car was thinking which gear to choose 1-2-1 total bad situation. I didn't have time yesterday. And today i open again. Clean again with brush the right wheel, clean carefully the sensor bed because there was a lot rust disconect the sensor spray between the plugs. 30 min job. Put back everything , wasn't able to clean the faults. I use a cheap reader and torque pro. But once i more the car everything dissappear from the dash. I come today to work, and was our first day since i drive on motorway without any lights for brake abs asr esp and gearbox. I think is fix now. When i clean the left wheel before few days i was use and flat screwdriver and i remove all the watch lines from that place. But no issue at the moment.

I have a C3 2007 72,000kms , auto , the gears sticks , slip and over revs after driving for 20-30mins. Drained and replaced transmission fluid and still the same . Anyone know the solution ?

this is happening to me. I put the car into N and then to A or M to shift past 3rd gear into 6th gear

This looks good but why have you cropped this video to just a bit in the middle of the screen grrrrrr better if I could have a full screen when your doing the sensor
I know full screen is better but under the car that was better option for me to hold a phone in one hand that way and work. In general I prefer full screen too.
This is happened to me on a motorway, when you turn the car on it takes a minute before appear the message and block the Gears , but if you are already in 6 gear you can carry on , what I did was just stop on a shoulderway turn off after turn on , and foot on the gas , once you are in 6 gears and appear the message you can still carry on in 6 gear ,
there is a much easier way. just drive and when you are at the end of your 3th gear set the selector in N wait a second and set the selector back in manual and you are in 6th gear!
true got movie about that, but is only temprorary solution because probably you could do that all the time until next mot. So you only winning more time to fix it. Regards
@@creativemario101 the problem was rust under the abs sensor after cleaning and removing the rust the problem was solved, the rust was moving the sensor away from the magnetic ring and created an error

@@dejancetojevic2078 Moj c4 picasso je imao grešku ESP/ASR, PARKING BRAKE i podizači stakala su radili kako su hteli. Jako ĉesto su odbijali poslušnost. Nakon zamene EGR, sve se vratilo u normalu. Neispravan ti je elektronski deo ventila, a ne mehanički. U tom slučaju, čišćenje ne pomaže, samo druga elektronika ili ceo ventil.
@@zoranpaunovic4336 zamenio egr nov stavio, medjutim nakon sad vec duzeg vozanja...skontam najvise u krivini pri malo vecoj brzini pali se greska...jedni kazu zbog tockova koje su 17 a ne 16, neki kazu amortizeri i tako svasta lupaju a niko da resi...
