Yeah I’m not into this. I want smaller maps. I want round based without limitations for high rounds. I want a good story and characters. I want some old and new wonder weapons. Maybe even remaster town or farm, five kino.

Seems fun with friends, but man, I'd be lying if I said I didn't miss the classic round based modes. The maps started off so small, and we used to loved how they'd keep increasing the size of the maps, and now look where we're at? Pretty wild if you think about it..
Totally agree with this , but every since warzone has come out it seems call of duty has drawn away from multiplayer and zombies and only focuses a lot more on warzone .. Honestly my opinion they can take warzone away and bring back classic multiplayer and classic zombies , best game in the world if you ask me ..

Looking at the gameplay I kinda want it to me more like a actual apocalypses. The Map section should have a ungodly amount of Zombies but the Zombies here look like someone played a Map editior and just had set spawns that doesn't feel natural. I love the idea of us being the soilders being sent in to contain the outbreak but I would as said like it alot to feel more of a actual apocalypse

Being forced to play with random strangers all over the map is literally pathetic. MW3 is one of the biggest gaming failures in history. So while im trying to get a few zombie kills, i have random people running and stealing my kills right from under me. Does nobody in the developer team have a working brain?

I can't see why people are complaining when it was quite direct on what this was gonna be. This zombies was never supposed to be classic zombies.
My theory is since treyarch is now in charge of all zombies I've noticed that in any game that isn't black ops they have completely butchered zombies so that they can then make it good in their game.

an updated version of outbreak from CW with all the new mechanics should also be added since i find playing zombies solo more fun than trying to communicate with a bunch of players. i enjoy round based but i find that outbreak is more casual and laid back and thats what i'd prefer to be doing before work.

honestly im more excited for the bo3 outbreak map, i think its launching this fall but im not totally sure. i could see some cool things that could be implemented into bo3 though for sure

I love zombies gems . Zombie is just chill for me and it would be nice to have round based zombies for solo players
making a slightly simplified solo version of this mode would go hard, i could imagine the horror of gliding into a map full of zombies entirely alone, kinda survival horror like. however I still would miss round based, stylized maps.
My expectations were already low and they somehow delivered something lower

@@Dizeased it would have. Extinction was already mission based and more linear and more about bosses than quest easter eggs so it would have worked not to mention Extinction was more about military units than Zombies

Here are some things that would make zombies better 1. Go back to round based 2. The best zombies maps have strong themes. Cold War lacked this. They all just felt like extraction zones. If you look at bo3 each map felt like it had its own personality and character. Shadows is a great example. Jazzy music with the Chicago night vibes. 3. Players should start the match with a weak pistol. Zombies is wayyyyy to easy now. 4. The best maps had research done on them. Mob, DE, Origins, had teams getting inspiration from the world. This made zombies feel like a unique experience and not just some random field where we’re aimlessly killing zombies. It also gave maps a purpose. The narrative reason for why my character was stuck in Alcatraz was excellent writing! Where did that go? Probably out the door with Jason. 5. Bring back Easter eggs and have Easter egg rewards (calling cards a fancy camo or weapon). Reward players for playing! 6. Bring back a crew. Honestly, we’ll never have characters better than the og 4. But cotd and motd are proof that new great characters can be made. People get attached to characters not operators. 7. Zombies needs to have a solo mode. This community thrived off of solo play for over a decade. I do know that this isn’t a Treyarch title, but there has been so much criticism and no action to actually improve the game.

a big thing for me for zombies has been the idea that when you played you felt like you were pretty much the only human on the planet of at least in your map. it feeling like a real zombie apocalypse and that you just had to survive or die was something i loved and since cold war that has been thrown out the window and seems even worse now. just the dark and lonely atmosphere is important and with 20+ people in a game, extra AI humans running around, and the safety knowing that there just is a secret military base that you extract too with people constantly comming in your ear just makes your player being there feel insignificant. with the original characters they had purpose to complete the cylce and now it just feels like why bother any of these AI humans probably could get the job done. i would love to try it but not for 70$ ill have to see if anything gets changed. there are plenty of other complaints that i have but this is a big one it seems for this game. sadge:(
You have to look at the big picture here, how many people play for the story? It's a minority. The story itself is an Easter Egg that is completely optional to do. So ask yourself, how many are actually going to do it? Most people want to play and see how long they survive, the gamemode since the beginning of its creation has always been a zombies survival mode. It was never advertised as a story mode campaign. Does it have a good story yes. That ended long ago. So they started a new one. Why automatically call it garbage? The CW had round based and many say it's "too easy". When your good at something, at a certain point the only way it can be harder is to make different kinds of enemies or mechanics. If this was OG zombies again you end up using the same strategy you did before. Which changes nothing in the end.

CW zombies didn’t even come close to any of the standards set by waw-BO4. “If this were OG zombies you’d end up using the same strategy you did before.” Spoken like someone who’s never even attempted any of the Easter eggs or has gone for high rounds. Different maps require different strategies if we’re talking high round attempts. If we’re talking Easter eggs I’m not even gonna explain how that statement has zero logic. If you seriously think you can take the strategy of one map and its Easter eggs and use it on the next map then you should not be having a discussion about zombies.

From what they've said, round based will return in treyarchs next official game, this is just to hold the community over

@@devanloll the issue is that it's not zombies, id be much much happier if they decided to make this an expansion of warzone, that would make more sense, but this? What's irritating is that the more and more Activision force treyarch to make these god awful modes, the more and more treyarch's reputation goes down the drain. I am excited to see their next game but they can't expect us to think "ahh this is good" because it's not. I understand that this is just meant to hold over the community but still. If this is what we get to "hold us over" I'd rather wait for Treyarch's official next game for fully fledged zombie maps rather than warzone zombies

The damage that warzone has done to Cod makes me so sad. The entire idea of extraction games is the opposite of zombies. You build up each time. Not build up once and if you’re a good player never lose your stuff because let’s be honest the game isn’t going to be hard past the first few hours.

It’s a small complaint but they’ve ruined carpenter. The carpenter power up finally became useful after bo4 and full armour had completely ruined it again. It’s tiny but the game alr looked ass and now it’s regressing even power ups

I would love this if it was Extinction style and flow from Ghosts. I prefer Treyarch round based with the maps having their own theme and great overarching story
I would love nothing more in gaming than Extinction 2.0. I loved zombies and said there's no way any FPS side-mode could be better, I didn't think it was even possible, until I got into Extinction.. Luckily some smaller studio recently did get massively inspired by Extinction & make a whole game based on the Extinction blueprint, I think it's called GTFO (dumb name but don't judge the game by it) but the game is more hardcore & you really need a squad to play it sine there's puzzle-like stuff, so I'm not sure if I'd enjoy it but I'll try it at some point. But as far as Exctinction-blueprint with same CoD-style arcade shooting, I don't think something like that will ever exist again :((((( It was too perfect, if only it was created by a smaller studio & not an evil corporation, the mode would never die!

no , they intentionally make the zombie type mode knowingly that people dont want the following and want the small map 4 Players mode, so that next year cod will have the Zombie mode that people wants and so they will get a good sales on that next cod, the reason they didint implemented it in mw3 , is bcz people are already hyped about slide cancel and rebirth island returns and that enought reason for them to buy this games , they re tactics its to remove what people wants the most to the point they will miss that thing and they will which its back , and then returns it for a exchange of 70$, since without motive people wont buy

I’ve been saying this for years, they need to do a zombies chronicles 2, but release it as a full game on its own, it should contain every treyarch map remastered up until bo3 or 4, id buy that in a heartbeat

MW3 wanted to do something other than round based and wanted DMZ Zombies but instead of trying to innovate, they grabbed both pieces and forcefully merge it together. Knew this mode was gonna be bad once I heard about the 1 hour time limit but was hoping for the gameplay to be decent. Hopefully next BO game will give us a good zombies mode
Treyarch will not put their round based maps with their core story in a game that isnt theirs. This wastes potential for their own game. Trust me u will love bo6.

Overall this looks really solid not only the multiplayer but this mode i thought was only 1 hour so being more then 1 hour will be awesome
My brand of zombies was mini Easter eggs then a big main one, cyphers, wonder weapons, 4 characters that spoke to each other, building up to the power curve, strategy, solo playability. Real history with a twist to fit the games narrative.
Another year of Cold War for me.

Why is it so hard for them to make real zombies? Round based, Easter Egg, actual story. This is not zombies. it's warzone with zombies added in. Human AI should not be in zombies. And I definitely don't like that there is a time limit. And what kind of zombies experience isn't not built for solo players. Call of duty is literally ignoring OG zombies fan base.

@joeyshubbuck3460 I didn't even know about that. So, for me, it doesn't apply. Human AI should not be in zombies. The only humans that's should be in zombies are the characters you and your friends are playing as, and anyone who is part of the story (voice lines, etc.)

@@youngsavage1275 I would say it’s fine if they have AI ONLY if they can fully form it around a more enveloped player’s experience. They would tend to get all these kills and not buy anything or just kill zombies too quick if you needed to pace the rounds. It’s only helpful if you really want some alleviated weight, but I do agree with you that they don’t need to be in the game
@kirbohtwo I get trying something new, but don't spit in the face of die hard zombies fans. Don't get me wrong, I'm still gonna give it a try. Im not going to completely write it off until after i play it, but having a time limit and human AI are the biggest issues I have. It not being round based isn't the biggest issue for me, but those 2 are.

I miss when zombies was: new maps comes out, start with NOTHING, and the community becomes detectives finding out the EEs, AND the EEs are actually lore and story for the map, not just some mention to smth. This may actually end up being good but i hope so much that round based maybe comes back eventually on some smaller sections of this map
It’s time based rounds. So smaller zones like warzone and every time it shrinks, the more zombies spawn and the stronger they will get. They just don’t put limitations on how you go about exploring the map. Different mix up but people hate seeing change despite it having a sound design plan. This is the new zombies mode going forward. The company doesn’t change their design plans becasie people complain. They give you the product they work on and may make a few tweaks within the mode but you get what you pay for.
Treat it like a new mode for dmz, not round based.
I think this is kind of an interesting idea, but I hope there is more added on to it instead of being abandoned like the co op mode in mw2.

Or like DMZ, which if they focus on could be improved to prefection over a few years, it'd be one of those games people still play 10 years later but this zombies thing is obviously a direct replacement for DMZ, they killed the first thing I truly enjoyed in CoD in almost a decade! CoD DMZ is a perfect idea, it's like Tarkov but less hardcore & more accessible in many ways, especially console & crossplay, so it'd actually easily outgrow Tarkov but instead it's being treated as the filler that served it's purpose. I wodner if they'll also purposefully destroy it like they did MW'19 MP..
Tbh ive been really enjoying the Halloween stuff in DMZ rn, if MW3 zombies is like that i wouldnt be mad

While I like most of what I've heard about this and looking forward to playing this because I like having new and different ways to play zombies, this shouldn't be the "only" way to play it, there should also be classic round based
