  • Did something similar to the first one dropping a magnet down a copper pipe. Kids were amazed how long it took to drop! As for the mag switch, had a larger one for many years for getting swarf off a metal lathe.

  • I had one of those rail twirlers (number 4 on the vid) about fifty years ago and it was a _wonderful_ toy. You can whip that damn thing amazingly hard and the wheel simply will not detach. I'd recommend it without hesitation for any kid above six, hell, if I still had it around I'd be playing with it now! The magnetic putty is lots of fun too (you definitely need at least one rare earth magnet, like the one shown, to exploit the putty's full "fun potential"-also the video's producer should have noted that the several of the effects were shown employing time lapse photography (it takes quite a while, hours sometimes, for the putty to envelope an object).

  • They should be using the “slow fall magnet” idea for train braking etc. turn it horizontal, (a tunnel) and use it as emergency slow down area for trains.
