    • I used work in Hydraulic machine shop and we built air shocks for giant crushers. It was cheaper and easier just to build them brand new than try to repair them. We would do 2-3 dozen of them a month.

    • That is true of all machines. The crusher that Chris is renting would last longer under his style of maintenance….as evidenced by his rubber flap modification. Even operating solo, he takes a break every 15 minutes to do a walk around to prevent stoppage. Likewise, if Chris rented any of the machines he owns, he would have similar headaches from prior renters’ abuse.

  • Chris you need to check the blow bars every day and reset them. They will wear a lot during a shift and you will start getting more on the recirc belt. Your flashing is wore on your recirc belt tail pulley . You should check the distance manually don’t trust the computer settings it will always show what you ask for but if the blow bars are wore and the curtain is wore you have to lie to the computer and set the blow bars lower than what the computer says. Also blow bars will wear a lot more on the side that the recirc belt is on. Chris unfortunately I live in Arizona if I lived closer to you I would be more than happy to come help break those rocks in the hot sun keep pushing and you’ll get er done 😊 I watch the recirc belt while feeding if it starts running full you generally have to slow the feeder down or feed slower if your screens are blinded the material will just keep going back on recirc belt.

Of course that would assume that having the material wet wouldn't be a problem. It wouldn't solve all of the trash problem and it might be just another thing that could make a gigantic mess and cause stuff to hang up.

  • this is why bigger recycling yards like the one Mr Digg has usually have multi stage processes - first jaw crusher cause it doesnt care one bit abaut rebar , then often a trash seperator for wood and plastics, either with compressed air - thats incredibly dusty or with a water bath that has a scum/swimming trash remover and a sediment removal belt - thereafter a rotary crusher usually hammer mill with a second magnet and thereafter a vibratory seperator screen... - since u usually grade with top dress stone most roadbase here where i am usually is like fist size and screened for better drainage to avoid ice from jacking the road - crushed concrete is usually only used for forrest roads and recycled for new concrete cause it breaks up during compaction way more than screened jaggered hard rock basalt or granite

  • Hey Chris , Replace all the belt wipers with new . If not from experience all that builds up on your bottom drive roller will eventually wear holes in the middle and or cause your belt to wander from side to side which then cause’s more headaches . We used to get the wipers from Roanoke Va . I cant remember the place but anybody that sales belting for quarry’s will have the wiper belting . Make sure you get the proper width for that application . Good luck my friend and enjoy all your videos . They make me want to get back in this kinda of work .

    • Oh yeah keep that crusher greased . We used to greases everytime we shut it down . Its the life of rollers, bearings , on that machine due to the excessive dust . Meaning before you start your day grease it ! If you shut down for lunch , grease it !! Might seem like alot of grease but saves on down time and costly repairs ! Also if you will put someone along of the recirculation belt to help pick trash it will save you alot of plugged screen. Take care my friend

      @clyderutter@clyderutterАй бұрын
  • I wonder if not recirculating the shaker directly back into the hopper but into its own pile would help things from plugging up by letting the crusher eject the trash a little faster. you would have to reload what it kicks out manually but the throwing action of the conveyor would help sort the wood and plastic to one side of the pile

This way you don't have to move the plant once you start and the times you are working alone you can feed from the problem side of the crusher and keep eyes on that recirc belt.
