In this video I take a quick look at the Battle rifle, an assault rifle added as part of the Chop shop content update DLC in Grand theft auto Online!
For the purchase price of just under half a million dollars is the battle rifle worth it? Well I compare it against a few other assault rifles and see if its rate of fire, accuracy, damage and magazine capacity hold up against its competitors like the Military rifle and the service rifle!

  • My biggest gripe with it is that IT'S NOT SEMI-AUTOMATIC!... It could've been the Marksman Rifle MkII with higher trigger cap, slightly lower damage & standard AR auto-aim range, but no, R* just had to dump out ANOTHER fully-auto rifle that the game doesn't need...

    • Technically no guns in GTAV are semi because even the slower firing weapons will continue to fire when you hold the trigger down

    • It was never automatic in CoDs I remember it the most (MW2 & BO1), & it's in the latter that I hoped the "Battle Rifle" would recreate that feel...

  • The battle rifle is a South African experimental R1 FN FAL chambered in 7.62x39 Soviet. Only 30 of these were made during the 70s of the Cold War. However 10 of the rifles got lost in the shipping process, South Africa received 20 of the rifles and only fielded 11. The reason why South Africa wanted these they loved the 7.62x39 Soviet cartridge, but disliked the akm platform in their eyes the fal platform was superior to the AK and AR platform.

  • To me this rifle looks mostly based on the Sig-550 series of rifles (a 5.56 rifle mostly known to be used by the Swiss military), but with a hint of Sig-510 because of the very large magazine which holds full power cartridges

    • There are actually only 4 types of guns in gta Minigun Any generic auto machine gun One shot pistol Gravity gun Rest are either copy paste of each other or completely useless in practical situations

  • Good job on the review over the new Battle Rifle and I recognize the song that was playing in the background and it's called Sauron by the artist Fleshbrain from a game called Need for Madness 2, created by Omar Waly. Stage 10: Ghosts and Magic.

  • I would say it's a good option for NPCs, since it has good damage and precision. Sadly they made an M16 with double mag capacity, more precison and more range

  • I have proof that is the FN FAL one if you search that gun up and look at it is the exact replica even has the back stock the exact same not just that or 320 rounds is one of the the only one of the only guns who have that has that low amount of capacity is the effort FL which comparison to its look and that we're triangular handle it is most likely based off that and if it isn't then I have no idea what gun is based off but I will say that it is very realistic and unfortunately you can't have more rounds and 30 which is a bit of a shame

  • Looks like a FNC with parts of the fal, the fnc is the same rifle from HEAT so it would make a lot more sense to be in the game as gta 5 takes a lot from heat.

    • I got the rifle for free and the next day it disappeared out of my load out and I had to buy the gun. It still had the attachments I bought but didn’t stay in my inventory for some reason. I definitely didn’t drop it

  • i actually like this gun it seems like it takes out hostile npcs with 2-3 bullets instead of the carbine mk 2 that takes like 5-7

  • You claim you can get it for free in one of the new Chop Shop missions, but I heard elsewhere that it's only temporary & you'll lose it upon switching sessions, just like the Military Rifle obtained from scoping out Cayo Perico. Can anyone confirm or deny it?

  • Sucks I bought it before watching this 😢 It’s an ok rifle, felt it did ok against the Doomsday equivalent enemies they used for the salvage heist missions, but kinda forgettable since the AR pool is saturated; wish it was a new MG instead since there’s only 2 with a MkII variant .

  • Its based off the FAL but seems to have aspects of other cold war era rifles. Also, looks like its chambered in 7.62 soviet with hoe curved the magazines are

  • I may be in a minority here, but you should buy it because then you will be able to hide it via gun locker if you dont like it. If you get it for free you won't be able to hide it

  • I always found it annoying how GTA 5 designed their guns. Some look cool like the Combat MG and Carbine Rifle, but others looks hideous like this. They are better off just copying the original design.
